Men don’t think and differently from women - they just make more noise about being able to.

One of my absolute favorite book scenes, ever! This is amazing!
That’s right Harry you go kiddo!! ٩(●ᴗ●)۶
Phew! This one is my longest comic yet: didn’t want to cut out any Harry or Minerva badassery. Also the Carrows are the worst, so this was very satisfying to draw. >:)

I think it's exactly like Dumbledore said, that they sort too soon. I mean who at 11 years of age has had time to figure out who they are? You just haven't been faced with enough life experiences to shape you into the person you will be. So probably I would say more often than not when not faced with someone who is already obviously not right for one house over another, the hat relies on family lineage. Probably also has to do with people learning many of their values from their parents.

I think the Sorting Hat cares more about lineage and family tradition than personality. Either that, or it has a hard time figuring out what a person is really like.

I have this headcanon where Steve’s son is born with his original health maladies and wants to grow up to be just like his dad - and Steve is confronted with all these feelings of inadequacy as a father because he realizes his son can’t grow up to be like him. But no kid will probably ever be better protected from bullies, considering who all his uncles are. It’s probably just a matter of time before Uncle Tony builds him some really sweet replacement braces (“Should they have spinning rims? I feel like they should have spinning rims.”)

So I finished Mastiff and instead of focusing on certain depressing developments let’s take a moment to appreciate rebel-with-a-cause Pounce.
