Matt huffs softly and closes the small space between them, so that their shoulders touch. “No. He’s not wrong this time.”

Matt’s voice is soft. Hesitant and hopeful. He's praying that he isn't over stepping his boundaries or reading fear or discomfort as excitement and anticipation.

“No,” Matt huffs the sound soft and amused. “You didn’t interrupt any plans, Foggy.” But Matt’s voice heavily implied that he had interrupted all the same. “Thanks for stopping by, Foggy. I appreciate it.”

Foggy outright laughed and adjusted his courier bag’s leather strap on his shoulder. “We’ll all have to hit up Josie’s together. Make it a double date. Catch you two later!”

And just like that Foggy is gone. Matt turns his face to Danny. “Sorry. He… loves playing matchmaker.”

Foggy shakes his head. "He always bites off more than he can chew. Claire will tell you the same, but at least now he has you to watch his back."

Matt sighs, "Foggy. What did you need?"

"Nothing. Just wanted to check on you after talking to Claire."

Matt half smiles. Mostly because he's flattered. Foggy hates that he puts on the suit. "Thanks."

Foggy blinks and then grins hugely. "No kidding."

"Foggy," Matt huffs exasperated by how quick Foggy is to latch on to the idea of Matt have a vigilante "chaperone." He steps closer to the two of them. "You know as well as anyone that I don't need a babysitter."

"Totally not the point!" Foggy turns thoughtful eyes on Danny. "You take good care of him okay? Make sure he isn't too reckless and whatnot, right?"

"Foggy!" Matt's distress is plain on his face as he fidgets from foot to foot clearly torn between moving in closer and well, just leaving to go to his kitchen if they're gonna gang up on him like this!

Stone still, for a moment, Matt silentlt curses Foggy's unintentional cockblock. "Up here," he calls down as he lets his hands find his sides. "It's Foggy," he says as an aside to Danny, just as Foggy reaches the roof.

"Hey, man. I heard from Claire. You... oh. Uh, hi."

Matt smirks, head tipping to the side just a little. "Foggy, this is Danny Rand. Danny. My best friend and the other half of Nelson and Murdock, Franklin Foggy Nelson," Matt steps in politely with introductions. He's hiding his disappointment well now. Though his body lines are a little stiff.

Matt’s hands come out and settle on Danny’s hips with just thw slightest bit of clumsiness. No matter now well he actual perceives the woeld around him, he still fumbles a little sometimes. Completely tolerant of Danny’s invasion of his personal space, hell he’s truthfully welcoming of it, Matt tips his head and quietly lets Danny examine the blossom of colors on his wrecked jawbone.

“It hurts. But I’ve definitely had worse,” he answers honestly. “I’m fine. Really. I just finished up a spotty bought of meditation so it’s already in the healing process.”

Matt’s hands do a slow, gradual tightening on Danny’s body, pulling his closer as Matt licks his lips. Softly he manages, “Would it be okay for me to take you to dinner? Maybe come back here after for a while? Before patrol? I’d like to take you out. I admit… I’m a little… enamoured of you…”

Matt dozes in and out sitting lotus style on the foot of his mattress, meditating sporadically. He can hear Danny’s heartbeat on the roof and it lulls him. He knows it’s foolish to let his hopes go too high, but he is so tired of being alone. Even just being able to stop and listening to a familiar heart beat nearby is easing that pain bit by bit. And that’s probably dangerous, but… Foggy would tell him to go for it. He knows Danny is interested. Why shouldn’t he ask him out properly? Resolved, Matt takes a deep breath and heads to the roof.

Once there he waits, just observing Danny with his functioning senses. The other man’s Chi is a deep well and Matt is honestly eager to learn its depths.

Danny's quickly elevating arousal is unmistakable. Matt can actually taste it in the air and he has to swallow hard and rein in the urge to invade Danny's space... because he can also sense Danny's uncertainty. He doesn't want to press until Matt's heartbeat is steady, fast with arousal or not.

"Should I order take away for brunch?"

Matt lets out the breath he’s been holding and nods. “Yeah! Absolutely. Follow me.”

Matt leads Danny into his room and starts peeling out of his own suit. “I’d like to takw you to my tailor… so you can get something more like this. You’re strong. You heal, but you’re not invulnerable.”

In just his boxers, Matt trails a hand along a wall to his dresser and then trails his fingers to the two drawers he needs. He turns with sweats and a tank-T-shirt in hand. “Here you go.”

Matt falls quiet, holding his breath and waiting for an answer. He hopes he hasn't overstepped making such an offer.

“Okay yeah,” Matt states enthusiastically with a lopsided smile and a small dip of his chin. “I haven’t been to the pier in a long time. Seems the only water way I get to see any more involves the drug deals and happenings on the docks. It’ll be nice to just feel the way without tracking it as a threat.”

A walk along the pier sounds like even more of a date to Matt than everything he’s suggested himself. He knows he shouldn’t get his hopes up… they’re definitely up anyway.

"You have work this morning? I mean it's a shame to have you run home just to end up back here in a handful of hours..." Matt responds reasonably. "Mm," he winces after pulling off his cowl and bandana. "But you'll want a change of clothes won't you..."

He'd thought he's found a clever reason for Danny to stay. He felt immensely disappointed that it probably wouldn't be good enough.

"I know it's short notice of it's tonight. I have the tickets... we can meet up for lunch, my treat this time, and then... well we can do whatever until the evening then things will get good." Matt listened, wanting to hear the truth of Danny's word.

With a toss of his head, he starts off to find them an alternate route home as well. He knows it will be time to call it a night when they get back to Hell’s Kitchen. He is genuinely reluctant to see the night end.

Once they reach Matt’s place again, breathless and chuckling, the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen pulls his helmet from his head, blank eyes soft. “Do you like… music?”

"There's a concert," Matt huffs. "Usually I go with Foggy or Karen... but I don't think they'd mind if I went with you. What do you say, Danny?"

He's holding his breath, heart pounding even as he tunes it out to listen in on Danny's heartbeat, breathes deep of his scent searching for any shift in the air that will prepare him, give him warning for rejection.

Spider-Man bows properly to Iron Fist and then hops backwards sticking to the wall as he says, "You too, fortune cookie man! Give Deadpool and I a shout any time you might need a hand... with the Hand."

Matt watches from close by Danny's shoulder as Spider-Man scales the building side and disappears. The kid was chuckling, pleased with his play on words. Matt huffs and looks to Danny. "We're all... eccentric... in our own way."

“Deadpool…” Matt says, voice soft but firm.

Spider-Man looks puzzled for all of a moment before he sighs, shoulders drooping. “Not cool, DP. It’s rude to blow other people’s cover.”

Matt remains placid though it’s clear he is a little irritated. “It’ll be fine…. just be more mindful.”
