QUICK REMINDER AGAIN

i dunno jus trying to come up with a new character. and about that chibi tkatb characters that i was pixel drawing, well.... i didn't continue working on them, stopping at Sol, Hyugo and Crowe, sorry not sorry

I...dunno why, buuut.. I decided to draw the bodies of these fellas based on their heads already drawn in the game. THEY LOOK SO SILLY. initially, I wanted to do this to make bibelot from plastic thermo beads, but I won't be able to do this because of the large size of the beads. so now they look like sprites for a pixel game, like Stardew Valley, Omori, Undertale or Deltarune, or somethin'..

I love that pixel versions of them, thanks to Fantasia Kitt

I also think I'm gonna draw all of the characters, just for fun dunno. I'll post better pictures when I'm done (just give me a couple of days)

I want to complete my words: I DON'T THINK FANTASIA-KITT DID THE 'WRONG THING' BY ADDING THE ORANGE JUICE SCENE. This project contained a lot of warnings, both on the game's itch page, and before the start of the game, and in its menu. Firstly, the most important warning was that the players reached the age of 18, otherwise it was asked NOT to PLAY this game. There are also warnings about Yandere, murders, violence, drugs, etc. let it sound selfish, but speaking of myself, I took these warnings seriously, and in no case have any complaints against the author, because she has the right to lead her story along the path to the finish line that she pleases. don't justify Sol for his 'sincere love' for MC, because he just uses MC's trust, doing terrible things to them. I was strongly affected by the scene with the shed, I began to pay more attention to Crowe, I was more interested in this character, because he is really good, sincerely kind and clean, the complete opposite to Sol (which can be read from the character cards in the game album in the author's comments regarding specific characters (Geo is definitely not Scaramouche from genshin, and Crowe's character is sincerely sympathetic to Fantasia-kitt, read it by yourself)) in v. 2.3, Crowe was made much more interesting and significant than in version 2.0 and it reveals the character much more and better, so you'd better pay attention to him than be dissatisfied with the 'orange juice' scene

fantasia-kitt, you didn't do anything wrong, you don't have to listen to the fans who think Sol is not such a terrible character and don't want to see him from this side. all that's good about him is his great cooking skills and looks, nothing more (I'm not trying to offend Sol's fans). Keep up the good work, Fantasia-kitt, your game is wonderful!

Yes, leave, weed yourselves out, if you can't handle the raw and legitimate personality a yandere like Sol is then see yourself out.

You hate him? That's good! That's the whole point of his character! You're SUPPOSE to hate him!

I don't mind people leaving because that means people who genuinely love the game, the characters, the plot get to enjoy without having to explain the genre over and over again.

You're valid to not like the character, you're valid for not liking a character for their actions, you're valid to lose interest and probably regret spending $5 (which, btw, was not a necessity)

But it's not right to ignore the amount of warnings I've placed in game already and I take much blacklash over it. No creator deserves this.

You could already tell he's trying to charm you (and its working) to get you to trust him so he can do all the nasty stuff.

He is clearly trying to get into MC's good side by being the sweetheart that he is, and it's fucking working, and because of that he gets his way with the MC, he feels the strongest when MC is unaware and aloof that's why he drugs them.

Not only he got to fool the MC but YOU, the player, as well.

Sol will eventually taste the consequences of his own actions, I've already planned that from the very beginning. Everything has consequences, like what happened with Bad Ending 1.

If I have to be honest, at the very beginning, I was a bit concerned that people really REALLY like Sol, not in the "he's an interesting character, I want to dissect him" kind but rather "he's such a green flag, I'll excuse him breaking into my house" and treated him as their babygirl and literally called him a 'green flag' for a yandere.

I know I was probably writing scenarios coming out of my ass during the time of me making Day 1 back in 2023 (that's because I made this project out of spite during my last year in college) but the sudden popularity really surprised me and I ended up dissatisfied with the outcome, thinking this is quite vanilla, I could do worse, I don't want people to excuse Sol, I don't want people to develop an unhealthy relationship and idea with a yandere.

So via rewrite I was happy I managed to emphasize on his yandere side more, that I finally got to write down what he is capable of, that he is irredeemable and having Crowe as his source of hatred just because he is close to the MC shows his narow-mindedness, he is sick in the head.

Sol is not mild, he is on the EXTREME level of yandere, he is DERANGED and I will keep writing him like that. So if you can't handle his actions and personality, then please, for your sake and mine, delete the game, DO NOT INTERACT.

If you're looking for ROMANCE, I apologize in advance but "The Kid at the Back" is NOT the VN you should be playing.

⚠️ Spoilers for the bad end. ⚠️

A little thing, inspired by the bad end of the game.

This is just one idea of a few of what could of happened after that event.

How much time has passed since that dreadful day?

Sol lost count as he felt himself rot in the room he was locked in, courtesy of his friend...and protector...Hyugo.

Too many times Hyugo came over to check on Sol, but every time it was the same.

Cursing.

Yelling.

Attempts to lunge at him and attack...kill...him.

But that last one was always pointless, since Sol was chained up. They say for Hyugo's and others protection, but more for himself.

"Let me go, Hyugo. I promise I won't do or say anything." Sol muttered out, as he sat on the ground, than rather sit on the bed he was given to sleep and rest on.

"...I wish I could believe that, Sunny...I do. But I know after what happened. How you reacted...It's too risky to let you go now...for now. But we'll let you go, after enough treatment." Hyugo forced a smile, but it never reached his eyes. Which Sol didn't have to even look up to see...Just hearing him was enough.

"I'll never take your damn pills." Sol clenched his fist. The idea of being drugged, kept in control for their benefit, it pissed him off. "You'd have to force me to take them if you really want me to now."

"...Really? Like how you would of forced Y/n to love you?" Sol's eyes widened at the sound of their name from them.

All reminder he was chained up was gone as he once again tried to go after Hyugo like some beast. Though like the many times before, his attempts to break free and finally get his hands on him, failed. "NEVER SAY THEIR NAME AGAIN! YOU LOST ALL RIGHTS TO DO THAT!"

"And you think you have all rights to say their name instead? Sunny...You lost it. Killed someone over them, because you were too delusional over the idea they were yours and were getting taken away from you. When in reality you just--"

"SHUT UP! FUCKING SHUT UP AND GO DIE! God...It should of been you...IT SHOULD OF BEEN YOU WHO WAS KILLED IN THAT SHED WITH THAT PEST! NOT THEM!"

Hyugo would be lying if he said those words didn't hurt a bit to hear, but he tried to keep his expression emotionless. Though couldn't keep it up anymore as he finally turned away to leave the room.

"Not them...It shouldn't have been them..." Sol kept speaking as he felt his body grow weak over the memory of losing his soulmate, his pumpkin, his one true love...The sight of their face as they were stabbed, the sight of them bleeding out, slowly suffering and dying within his arms...The way the warmth of their skin, their body, was quickly fading from him. Until finally...They were gone...It haunted him, and played often on repeated in his head like some fucked up movie you couldn't shut off. "Y/n..."

Sol couldn't take it anymore as he let his tears fall, he lost count of how many times he cried over them. Begged to wake up from this nightmare to see them alive and well again. To be able to hold them in his arms again and be told it's all alright now, that it's all over now.

But this will be a nightmare he'll never wake up from now...

Before Hyugo reached over to open the door, to leave his friend alone once again. He paused, but didn't have the strength to turn his head around to look at Sol. "...I don't know how many times I have to say this until you believe it, Sunny...And you know I did it for you...for us...But..." He paused, taking a small breath, as he tried to keep himself strong. "I am truly sorry for what I done...even though...it was the right thing to do..."

"Go to hell, Hyugo." Sol's words game out like venom, as he glared at him one last time for today.

Hyugo couldn't help but weakly laugh a little at that. "...Already am there, Sunny...You know that...We both know that..."

Hey, I've been recently made aware of a... I don't know what to say so I'll just put, "controversial" update of one of the games in this community.

First off, I want to say kudos to @/fantasia-kitt for biting the bullet and putting some actual real dark shit into the game. This is what's been missing from the community.

Personally, I think these devblogs and interactions between community and developer have watered down yandere stories and have promoted an almost unhealthy look towards what a yandere actually is.

It also has caused several people to develop an unhealthy sense of relationships, thinking that you're only loved or capable of showing love if you do extremely toxic things as a "Look what I'll do for you, don't you understand?"

This isn't to say that I think devblogs should be removed, or we should stop dev-community interactions all together. No, this is just me saying, "Hey, guys. These characters are meant to be dark, are meant to be evil, they're morally reprehensible and irredeemable. Remember that."

When you get into dark content, you have to be prepared for dark fucking content, okay?

Onto my second point of this post.

Do I think there should have been clearer warnings in the game before some of this stuff happened? Yes and no. I think FK's warnings are appropriate and clearly stated.

I also think that following a similar format to Boyfriend to Death, where there is a content warning/trigger list for each separate character would help in expectations for these incidents. People get attached to characters, it's a thing that happens. If you asked me several months ago, I would have a different opinion. As it stands, I now have comfort characters of my own.

Do I think anything is wrong with TKATB or FK? No, absolutely not. FK is entitled to create whatever story they want to, however dark they want to. I appreciate that they're bringing this into the community and it's a little inspiring and motivating if I'm being honest.

Anyway, this is just my own personal thoughts and ramblings on this matter. I am but a tiny dev with a tiny following that wanted to make a post about this in general. In the future, I will personally be making a trigger/content warning list for each character before such content is released to avoid this happening. I will also be implementing it into the game itself so it's very in your face about what Duplicity: Revival contains.

You have your own responsibility to listen to and heed warnings that developers list for their games. If ***any*** of that content on those warnings are an issue for you, then don't interact with the game. At all.

I think that's all I had to say about this. I'll add more if I think of anything.

Sol IS actually a nasty EXTREME YANDERE, HE DRUGS THE MC, TO MAKE A DISGUSTING THINGS WITH THEM (somnophilia) and I DON'T UNDERSTAND people who start shouting towards fantasia-kitt that HER character is 'wrong', but this is HER CHARACTER, and SHE has the right to do WHATEVER SHE wants with him, SHE has the right to make him what SHE WANTS

sooo..Sol IS really disgusting somnophile (but I kinda like it🤫🤫), tho I like imagine him without red flags, just a cutie, who confesses his love and will not be rejected by MC (Player)

and since particularly sensitive people cannot stand such a game, which was ORIGINALLY planned as a romantic horror (with a bunch of tw on the game's page on itch, before the start of the game and in the game settings / credits), then there will only be either true fans of the game who like the plot, how the characters are written and interaction with them, either the psychos who continue to romanticize Sol

SEMI-HIATUS and some words

Alright guys, I'm gonna take a break now, I'll be fixing some of the minor bug issues people have encountered and will post it all in itch when I do (give me a week) but for now I'll see you all soon, I need to touch some grass and take my mind off this game for a moment.

I'll work on my remaining script behind the scenes with my co-writer when I feel inspired, I don't want to rush that and turn my game into crap.

This game has been such a huge passion project with it's characters and its workd building and up until now I'm still building it, but that's also the fun part it's all experimental and there's endless possibilities that I can conjure to make the story then times more interesting.

I'm really happy with how Version 2.3 came to be, how I shaped Crowe to what he is now because this is exactly how I envisioned him, same goes for Sol, he is the embodiment of unhinged and desperate, a true manipulative maniac and I want to keep this consistency for the next days.

This isn't even the full thing yet, we're literally just 20% in to this universe, there's so much stuff to explore and things to be explained and I can't wait to share it all to you.

And as much as I appreciate the attention my game has given me, it is quite hectic and tiring and very anxiety driven, the way I tend to overthink and my perfectionism nagging me was one of the few personal flaws I face when developing this game.

So I'm taking a break again, I want to focus on myself, I want to try something else and go back to purely just art. I'll still slowly work on the game of course cause this is still part of my art journey but dialing it down so that I won't get stressed about it.

Thank you all again and for supporting me! It's been 11 months since my game's release and a lot of stuff already happened in a span of a year (heck, a month even) and I appreciate each and everyone of you!

Thank you to everyone who greeted me on my birthday today! I would never would have thought to have earned such an amazing community, I would like to thank my friends for supporting me and to you all for supporting my game since its release!

Here's some fun facts about the game:

> I started conceptualizing Sol on Sept 24, 2023. > Sol did not have a rival (or any additional characters in general) and the game was suppose to just be a day short. > The game's original name was suppose to be "Loner Boy" > Sol's first conceptualized name was "Sorien Brugmansia" > Hyugo's character concept is older than Sol's (yes I made Hyugo first) > Sol was originally a Poet but made him into an artist (cause I can't write poems for the life of me) > Sol and Crowe got a very thought out designs and personalities when I made them, but as for Geo, Deryl, Jess and Brittney, I did random doodles til I came up with this

> Sol is highly inspired by Towa (Slow Damage) > Crowe is inspired by Hythlodeus (FFXIV), Kaeya (Genshin) and Suguru Geto (JJK) > Geo got his design from Hijirikawa Masato (UtaPri) but ended up looking like Scaramouche (Genshin) > Deryl is highly inspired by Alex (SDV) > Jess is inspired by me back when I was in Highschool. > Brittney is inspired by my friend who is into gyaru fashion and her hair is from Luna Platz (MegaMan Starfoce) > Jess and Brittney's color palettes match the lesbian flag. > Hyugo is my persona and her partner's love-child (this is a half joke because I only realized it when my friend pointed it out lol)
