Dragonslayer was absolutely my favorite book of the series. I know a lot of people hated it, but each perspective felt like a whole new way to see the universe. The characters were compelling. And I absolutely adored the human dragon relationship from a human perspective. Something as simple as the human fortress, and wren and undauntables relationship, to the minor realizations throughout the book that just make everything make so much more sense. I also loved how the perspective changed the narrative from a cool action fantasy book, to a cool action fantasy almost apocalyptic book. I understand why people might hate it. But it is absolutely my favorite of any book in the series

Look I was a 9 year old idiot when I made this au but this image inspired me.

A very rare gene appears in two very specific dragons. Flame, and Pike. What does this gene give them? A special aura ability which basically gives them a bunch of stat buffs.

tui treats the mudwings so unfairly and I'll never forgive her for it (take with a grain of salt cause it's not that serious im just salty on how clear it is that the mudwings are not the favs😭)

for example how all the dragonets in the first arc get their own books where they spend time in their own kingdoms and explore their feelings or whatever but clay gets part 3 of the 1st book and that's pretty much it. I understand the first book needed to set up the stakes and the world but why not split up the book then? Let clay get his time??? He legit goes to the mudwing kingdom finds out there's not really the thing of parents, meets his sibling for one conversation where they infodump about the mudwing kingdom, and then he just leaves! Someone mentioned that it was super convenient that they just happened to be in the right mudwing village first try and his siblings just happened to be there. Clay also just kinda gets over all his feelings of "I'm a monster." That he was struggling with the whole book super quick. Idk like a part of me understands his actions. Like I'd want to leave the kingdom the moment my mom was not like what I thought she'd be and I wouldn't want to take over the big wing spot nor would I just abandon the prophecy... but like? Why can't they spend more time in the mud kingdom? All the choices keeping them from giving clay more time in his own kingdom to explore mudwing stuff were just super convenient.

Again is it really that big of thing? No I still love book 1 and enjoy wof as a whole. I'm probably just upset that my favorite tribe doesn't get as much attention 🙏💀 love the info from the guidebook tho that fed my need for more mudwing lore
