Why didn’t they think to film the entirety of the process of recording fever so that 20 years later I could watch the whole thing. Are they stupid?

Yes, the Fever era's aesthetic wasn't Jon's scene. Yes, Jon wasn't part of recording AFYCSO. Yes, Brent was part of the Fever era for longer than Jon. (Brent was onstage for the August 2005 – May 2006 shows, in addition to being part of the band for the previous year of planning & practicing. Jon was onstage from May – December 2006).
However, in my opinion, P!ATD didn't truly feel like they'd found their footing until Jon arrived. He must have some kind of incredible people skills because suddenly the band was a solid, strong unit that had a whole new level of energy & presence. Many times I thought that Jon seemed like the glue that held them together during the whirlwind of the last part of 2006. He became a fan favorite and was the most visible member for fans during that season, too... like he updated the journal, shared pictures, and made a serious effort to connect with us during that specific season.
So even though the Pretty. Odd. era was totally Jon's era and was extremely heavy in his influence, I still feel like Jon belongs in any remembrance of the Fever era too.
