Comedians in the '70s and cartoons in the '90s: weird how your kids can watch violence and murder on TV but the FCC wants us dead if we say the word nipple.
Internet users in 2025: you didn't warn me that there would be erotic themes in the game you just mentioned which is fucked up because I thought it was going to be a normal "morally struggle with killing people" game but now it's gone too far :-/

My Top 3 Favourite Irish Horror Movies
A bonafide Galwegian's entirely subjective opinion
The Hallows (2015)
A couple from London move into a house in the middle of dense Irish woodland with their newborn baby. The locals warn them away but they do not heed this warning. Come nightfall, they learn exactly why they should have listened... and why the bars on the nursery window are made of iron

Also known as "Brits learn the hard way why Irish people don't fuck about when it comes to fairies." Ooh they might be all cute and butterflyie where you're from but we've got fucking hell-spawn living in our woods and we know better than to piss them off
Changelings and body horror and a forest come alive. This movie is everything The Watchers (2024) wishes it could have been and more. Suck it, Shyamalan
Grabbers (2012)
When a small, seaside island off the coast of Ireland is attacked by an alien species, a ragtag group of coppers, a scientist, a bar keep and a drunk have to keep the locals safe by getting them absolutely fucking sloshed

A piss-your-pants funny horror comedy that has me in stitches on every watch. Is the CGI incredible? Nah. But does that add to its charm? Oh, you'd bet your arse it does
You Are Not My Mother (2021)
Char's mother has mental health problems. She spends whole days in bed. She struggles to drive her teen daughter to school most mornings. She can be quiet and distant and odd. But she is her mother and she loves her deeply. Whoever is living in the room just down the hall... is not Char's mother. Even though it is wearing her skin

This movie scared the tits off me. A genuinely terrifying masterpiece from writer-director Kate Dolan and one of the first films in a long time to have me jumping out of my seat in a cinema. My poor girlfriend damn near saw God with the fright. An easy recommendation. It's so fucking good. Just believe me. I'm doing me best for spoilers here! Go watch it. You want to, I swear
Now shoo!

the biggest mistake horrible histories ever made was trying to teach children that dick turpin wasn't a romantic hero by making mathew baynton sing a song wearing eyeliner and a cunty ponytail.
"nothing dandy about me" girlypop i hate to tell you this but i think you were instrumental in hundreds of children's queer awakenings

Respectful plus-sized representation in horror
Because I love horror but their depictions of people who are shaped like me are so rarely good that I'm well and truly over it. Here's your precedence, now go do better
Annie from Sinners (2025)

That's it!
Yup! One (1) singular character whose fatness is not used as a recurring punchline, a metaphor for greed and overindulgence, an excuse to mistreat them narratively and/or within the universe itself, or as their single defining trait within the genre I hold so dear
Actively influencing the plot, guiding the other characters (and getting her back blown out all slow and romantic by a fine, loving man while doing so) Annie is a driving force of strength and wisdom throughout the film. A beautiful, plus sized woman getting treated the way a beautiful, plus sized woman deserves
Fellow fats, you know, as well as I do, what representation like this can mean.. and that it should not stay being a one in a million

We need gay perverts in art. Seriously. All the pervert filmmakers working right now are straight man perverts and that is just not okay.
