The Elbeuf Suspension Bridge which spanned the Seine at Elbeuf, Normandy, was completed in 1843. It was destroyed by the French Army in May 1940 to thwart the Germans, being replaced by the Pont Guynemer in 1953.

Depicts a BMW R47, produced between 1927 and 1928. The top speed was in the region of 70 mph, with 1,720 machines being sold.

The 494cc machine below came up for sale at Bonhams in 2011.
