She lived with her son in Manisa before becoming Valide Sultan after Selim I died. She was the first ottoman woman known to have a Kira (Jewish or Christian agent of an imperial consort/mother). She trained Süleyman’s famous and powerful wife Hürrem Sultan, who became her successor after her death. She died in 1534 and was buried in her husbands tomb.
