Diana turned to Bruce, who had spent their entire watch duty tense and surly, obviously uncomfortable and wanting something, and replied, “Bruce.”

Surely it must be something big or bad if the Batman was uncomfortable asking it if one of his closest companions.

“I have a... small favor to ask of you.”

“Small?” Diana asked. Small didn’t seem like an appropriate response to how he had been acting all night. “You know you can ask me anything.”

“Marry me?” He questioned tensely.

Diana blinked. “Is this for a mission?”

He grunted “Sort of.”

So not really, “Is it for a bet?”

He pursed his lips “Not exactly.”

That wasn’t helpful. “Does it have to do with the company?”

He shook his head, “Definitely not.”

Alright. “Please Bruce, as much as I would love to help, I need to ask how me marrying you would do anything for you.”

Bruce tapped his fingers on the computer a couple times. He sat there a few moments, thinking about what to say and how to say it before blurting out “Jason says he’ll come home if you’re his stepmother.”
