It really makes me emotional how Phil Coulson has always symbolized union, bringing people from different places and being the glue that holds them together. I love how this is codified into his Marvel appearances, from his roles in almost every Phase I movie, literally being the Superhero Wrangler, to his death leading to the Avengers coming together, to then creating a new team of people who would end up being as close as family. I love how AoS carries on this idea, how he continues to be the "guy who brings in strays", like people headcanon he did with Barton, like we saw he did with Daisy, and would do with others like Kara, how he's literally "the one who can bring all the pieces together". That's literally who he is. We (and him) joke about Dying being his superpower. But I think his real power is that he is the very personification of the ideal he inherited from Fury's "a man can accomplish anything once he realizes he's a part of something bigger". And people do come together for him. He's the one who makes possible the whole solution because he brings together the pieces that solve the puzzle. He is more than just Fury's right hand man, more than the Director, more than the dad of the group. He's literally the heart and soul of early MCU and AoS, the one that took the potential that so many extraordinary people, powered and otherwise, had, and managed to make them work like well-oiled machines, long after he was already gone.

Dropout had to EXPLAIN GAME CHANGER to a REAL LICENSING COMPANY in order to be able to use Seal's "Kiss From a Rose." What I would give to be a fly on the wall for that conversation.

Kung Fu panda 2 is beautiful
One of my absolute favourite 2000s (fine early 2010s) animated movies, and I'm rewatching it after deciding to actually buy it (on Apple TV - sue me), and OMG some of it is actually so beautiful it almost looks like it was animated within the last 5 years.
I really prefer it to the first film - something about him already knowing kung fu and actually not being a complete screw-up, and his comedy is just as good if not better. Michelle Yeoh as the soothsayer is brilliant and Chen is one of my favourite villains (also his design is beautiful and elegant and gahhh). Tigress character development, Po's backstory, i n n e r p e a c e - more great things about this movie
Maybe it's that it's actually 4k (Netflix 4k is ludicrously expensive so I just have hd) or something but garsh it looks so darn good. oo wait it could be HDR.
also how did I not realise mantis was Seth rogan? Loving him in The Studio even tho its painful to watch - would recommend that show to anyone else with a random free offer subscription to apple TV+ (along with Ted Lasso ofc the best tv show ever)
#kung fu panda#genuinely can't think of any other tags#blogging is fun#my friend did henna for me last night and its so prettyyyy#so unrelated but wanted to say

WE'RE SO BACK BABYYYYYYYYYY
What if you were a METH ADDICT, who came from an ABUSIVE HOUSEHOLD, and then you decided that you wanted to TRY AND BE GOOD (OR/AND FIND NEW DRUGS), so you went to a shady lab in MALAYSIA, and then you kinda DIED, and then you RESUSCITATED with GODLIKE POWERS, and some shady Russian blonde presented you with ADOPTION PAPERS, and saved you from your crushing evil alter ego depression with the POWER OF FRIENDSHIP-

One small detail of Jamie’s character development that I haven’t seen mentioned is the way he goes from using the English pronunciation of Richard and Jan’s names in seasons one and two to using the proper French/Dutch pronunciations in season three. Even once he returns from Man City and is making amends with the team, he’s overly apologetic in a utilitarian way then overcorrects back into prickishness. It isn’t until after the confrontation with his father at Wembley, where his biggest vulnerability gets put on full blast and he can no longer hide insecurity behind attitude, that he actually finds the middle ground and truly becomes a team player, and one way he does that is by letting go of this “I don’t care about you enough to pronounce your name correctly” aloofness. It’s such a small detail that I totally missed the first time around but it’s such a great choice. Phil Dunster the actor that you are.
#SHOT OP JAN MASS#he’s just Dutch#he said you cupped a fart and put it in his face#it sounds better in French

Now I just want to make a story about how a goomba wanting to drive led to huge innovation in neural control and other disability technologies in the mushroom kingdom research and development labs
Do you ever think about what “the meta” is going to look like for Mario Kart World? Will it be something that has the character/kart combination clash in styles? Like Goomba on a moped despite not having hands to reach the handlebars or legs to reach the gas pedal?
#Mario au???#mario kart world#goomba#maybe it should be like DaisyLabs#or the Princess Peach R&D department#OR MAYBE ITS FUNDED BY YOSHI DRINK#or since they’re enemies maybe it’s bowser#like Koopa-Tek or BlueShell Auto
