Rose Petal PSA
I see a lot of witches drying rose petals for floral arrangements or even making rose water from them. Please keep in mind that roses grown for florists are over treated with pesticides and fertilizers. Anything made from these petals isnât safe to ingest.Â
If youâre doing work that requires making a rose preparation for ingestion or topical application that will be absorbed into the skin, youâll want to get rose petals from a shop that sells for these purposes.Â
Or grow your own organically. Old fashioned varieties rather than the hybrid teas you see in flower arrangements are usually grown for these purposes because they grown more easily without intense treatments.Â

basic ass witch tips đź
on some kind of medication, including but not limited to hormonal birth control, heart medication, and anti-depressants? you better double check with your doctor or pharmacist before you drink that new tea you just bought.
always, always, always tell your doctor or check with your pharmacist before trying any kind of herbal supplement, whether itâs something you made yourself or something you bought at the store.
have sensitive skin? dilute your essential oils before putting them anywhere near your skin or in your bathtub.
have a diagnosed medical condition? talk. to. your. doctor. before ingesting anything or putting anything on your body that you arenât familiar with.
donât. drink. essential. oils. essential oils are not consumable!!!!!
donât put citrus oil on your skin and then go out into the sun unless you want a badass chemical burn.
donât put any kind of damn essential oil on your skin without diluting it with a carrier oil. almond oil? olive oil? coconut oil? i donât care. dilute your essential oils.Â
donât put essential oils on your animals, diluted or not, point blank.Â
oh, and donât put fucking crystals in their water bowls to âcleanse their chakrasâ or whatever the fuck.Â
speaking? of crystals? donât put crystals in your bodily orifices. donât put crystals in your own damn water. just donât.Â
thinking about burning some kind of random herb in your house? you better make sure itâs not gonna release noxious fumes and murder your family.Â
speaking of random herbs - got the urge to forage for some herbs out in the wild? wear. fucking. gloves.
donât burn incense or herbs around your pets. they have tiny, fragile respiratory systems and are super sensitive to that kinda shit.Â
gotta burn a candle down completely for a spell? you better not leave that shit unattended unless you want a house fire.Â
always. practice. fire. safety. that means, donât go burning shit outside during a burn ban.Â
gods help me - if you wanna harvest your own blood via finger stick, stay away from dirty safety pins and needles and invest in some lancets.Â
drinking dirty water from outside can literally give you worms. boil your damn water.Â
oh yeah. moon water. everyone loves to make moon water. you know what happens when you leave a jar of water at room temperature? it stagnates and grows bacteria. refrigerate that shit.Â
fresh herbs or other things of that nature left at room temperature can also grow super harmful bacteria, for example, raw garlic submerged in oil at room temperature is a breeding ground for botulism and mold.Â

queer is a slur, grow up
âQueerâ was reclaimed as an umbrella term for people identifying as not-heterosexual and/or not-cisgender in the early 1980s, but being queer is more than just being non-straight/non-cis; itâs a political and ideological statement, a label asserting an identity distinct from gay and/or traditional gender identities.People identifying as queer are typically not cis gays or cis lesbians, but bi, pan, ace, trans, nonbinary, intersex, etc.: weâre the silent/ced letters. Weâre the marginalised majority within the LGBTQIA+ community, andâqueerâ is our rallying cry.
And thatâs equally pissing off and terrifying terfs and cis LGs.
Thereâs absolutely no historical or sociolinguistic reason why âqueerâ should be a worse slur than âgay.â Remember how we had all those campaigns to make people stop using âgayâ as a synonym for âbadâ?
Yet nobody is suggesting we should abolish âgayâ as a label. We accept that even though âgayâ sometimes is and historically frequently was used in a derogatory manner, mlm individuals have the right to use that word. We have ad campaigns, twitter hashtags, and viral Facebook posts defending âgayâ as an identity label and asking people to stop using it as a slur.
Whereas âqueerâ is treated exactly opposite: a small but vocal group of people within feminist and LGBTQIA+ circles insists that itâs a slur and demands that others to stop using it as a personal, self-chosen identity label.
Why?
Because âqueer is a slurâ was invented by terfs specifically to exclude trans, nonbinary, and intersex people from feminist and non-heterosexual discourse, and was subsequently adopted by cis gays and cis lesbians to exclude bi/pan and ace people.
Itâs classic divide-and-conquer tactics: when our umbrella term is redefined as a slur and weâre harassed into silence for using it, we no longer have a word for what we are allowing us to organise for social/political/economic support; we are denied the opportunity to influence or shape the spaces we inhabit; we canât challenge existing community power structures; weâre erased from our own history.
Iâm not kidding. Cis LGs have literally taken historical evidence of queer peopleâs involvement in the LGBT rights struggle and photoshopped it to erase us:
Pro tip: when you alter historical evidence to deny a marginalised group empowerment, youâre one of the bad guys.
âQueer is a slurâ is used by terfs and cis gays/lesbians to silence the voices of trans/nonbinary/intersex/bi/pan/ace people in society and even within our own communities, to isolate us and shame us for existing.
âQueer is a slurâ is saying âI am offended by people who do not conform to traditional gender or sexual identities because they are not sexually available to me or validate my personal identity.â
âQueer is a slurâ is defending heteronormativity.
âQueer is a slurâ is frankly embarrassing. Itâs an admission of ignorance and prejudice. Itâs an insidious discriminatory discourse parroted uncritically in support of a divisive us-vs-them mentality targeting the most vulnerable members of the LGBTQIA+ community for lack of courage to confront the white cis straight men who pose an actual danger to us as individuals and as a community.
Tl;dr:
Iâm here, Iâm queer, and Iâm too old for this shit.

people seem to have trouble understanding why iâm an anti-capitalist, so iâm going to try and put it into simple, real-life terms.
i work at a restaurant. i make $12 an hour, plus tips. minimum wage where i live is relatively high for my country - the national minimum wage is $7.25/hr, and has not been raised since 2009. before taxes, working full time, my yearly income is about $22,000 a year. ($25,000 if you count tips)
at my job, we sell various dishes, with an average price of about $10-$15. we get printouts every week detailing how much money we made that week; in one week, our restaurant makes about $30,000. (one of our other locations actually makes this much on a daily basis!)
iâm not going to go into details, but after the costs of production (payroll for employees, rent for the building, maintenance, and wholesale food purchasing) are accounted for, the restaurant makes an estimated profit of $20,000 per week.
this profit goes directly to the owner, who does not work at this location. the owner of my restaurant has actually been on vacation for a few months, but still profits from the restaurant, because they own it. i have met the owner exactly twice in my year of working here.
to put this into perspective, the owner of this restaurant earns in 2 days what they pay me in one year. and thatâs just from this single location - the owner has several other restaurants, all of which make more money than the one i work at. this ends up resulting in the owner having an estimated net worth of tens of millions of dollars, even after accounting for the payroll for every single worker in their employ.
now, i have to ask you: does the owner of my restaurant deserve this income? did they earn it? did their labor result in this value being created?
the naive answer would be âyesâ; the owner purchased the location and arranged for the raw ingredients to be delivered, did they not?
the actual answer is ânoâ. the owner may have used their initial capital to start the location, but the profit is a result of my labor, and the labor of my co-workers.
the owner purchases rice at a very low bulk price of about 25 cents a pound. i cook the rice, and within a few minutes, that pound of rice is suddenly worth about $30. the owner did not create this value, i did. the owner simply provided the initial capital investment required to start the process.
what needs to be understood here is that capitalists do not create value. they use the labor of their employees to create value, and then take the excess profit and keep it.
what needs to be understood is that capitalists accrue income by already HAVING money. the owner of my restaurant was only able to get this far because they started off, from the very beginning, with enough money to purchase a building, purchase food in bulk, and hire hundreds of employees.
that is to say: the rich get richer, and they do so by exploiting the labor of the poor.
the owner of my restaurant could afford to triple the income of every single person in their employee if they felt like it, but this would mean that they were generating less profit for themselves, so they do not.
the owner of my restaurant pays me the current minimum wage of my area, because to them, i am not a person. i am an investment. i am an asset. i am a means to create more money.Â
when you are paid minimum wage, the message your boss is sending you is this:Â âlegally, if i could pay you less, i would.â
every capitalist on the planet exploits their workers for their own gain. every capitalist, even the small business owners, forces people to stay in poverty so that the capitalist can profit.

Empath Jewelry Enchantment
As an empath, sometimes I would find myself so drained and in such a bad mood when I came home, just from brushing into other people and their problems. I decided I needed a barrier with a little boost
What Youâll Need:
đ A piece of jewelry you wish to enchant
đ Carnelian to protect and stabilize, to encourage awareness of your own energy
đ Hematite to banish and absorb negativity
đ Obsidian to ground and protect, to shield against negativity
đ Amethyst to bring strength, stability, and peace
đ Ruby in Zoisite to maintain your individuality
đ Bay for protection and to ward off negativity
đ Cinnamon for protection and strengthening of psychic power
đ Lavender for soothing
đ A dish to hold your herbs and jewelry (if you want to put your crystals in as well, make sure itâs big enough)
đ A white candle
đ Gather your items together in front of you so you can easily access them
đ Place your herbs into your bowl, stating the reason youâre using each one and thanking them for helping you. Focus on what you want each herb to do as you place it into the dish. Arrange your crystals around/inside your dish, asking each one of them to help you and thanking them for offering their energy
đ Place the piece of jewelry into the dish with the herbs, and then light the candle. Allow the candle to help draw energy into the dish. Concentrate on the item of jewelry, and envision it beginning to glow
đ Repeat the following (tweak it if you want)
[name of the item of jewelry], please help protect me whilst I wander among Earthâs people. I ask that you absorb and emulate the energies of these stones and herbs. Allow me to feel only that which I feel, allow me to take on only that which I consciously wish. Protect me from overload, protect me from the negativity of others. They can feel their own emotions, without my help. I do not need to take on otherâs struggles
đ Let the candle burn for as long as you wish, and leave the jewelry in the dish overnight in the moonlight. Whenever you put it on, picture that glow expanding to cover your whole self in a protective bubble. You donât need to hold that image permanently, but know that the protection is there
