Thursday
Today started with a guidance session for the leaders so we took the opportunity to delegate the Q.O.T.D. and the first activity to Oscar. This turned out half well because they skipped our traditional morning question and went straight to work. Guidance was shorter than expected and the general feedback from Jonas was to loose our fear and approach the client.
When we got back they were all focused working, which made us skip the reading discussion we had planned. The whole day went by discussing concepts and we decided to divide the team into three groups: Two for concepts and one for the final presentation.

Wednesday
The day started at 11:00 at Nord og natt at Tøyen in Oslo. We were all tired after the ball last night, but everyone showed up. This might have to do with getting a free meal there. The burger with potatoes was great, personally I (Kasper) give it a 7,5/10, it could have been bigger. The only formal thing we did that day was having a discussion with the other Norwegian group and the swedes about the arrangement of the cooperation in the project between HiOA and KAU. There will also be sent out a survey about this later.
After the meeting we took a trip to the closest KIWI store to have a look at different tubes in their store. We bought different types for discussion later in the week.

Tuesday  05.12.17
Tuesday morning felt rushed. At 9am were meeting with the Swedish students, their professor HellĂŠn Williams and Johannes Daae and the other Wood Packaging group. Because of this, we asked our team to meet for 8:45. Kasper had compiled the group's sketches into a digital presentation and we wanted to run through it prior. It became clear that no one wanted to talk during the summary because they were concerned that meant they would have to do the talking later. Once it was noted that this was just a summary and only two people would do the talking, people had more to say. To our surprise and excitement, the shy members spoke confidently about the designs in front of the 30 + people. We approached them afterward in congratulations.
After lunch 4 of the Swedish students joined our classroom and we assisted them with unconventional brainstorming. In return, they answered some questions we had about the technical aspects of our designs. They also introduced us to a tool called Edupack for idea generating. Unfortunately, this meeting was cut short because of the Christmas party.

Monday 4/12
First day of the third week. Our swedish pals will be here from today until Wednesday. First thing in the morning was our meeting with Johaness. We showed him our progress and he gave us feedback. It took the team time to start talking to him and discuss. It was very beneficial for the project given the lack of feedback we’ve had from Norgesgruppen.
After this we shortly discussed his feedback and went to receive the swedes and have lunch. Then we went back to the room and Kasper went to give them a tour around campus.
Then the group continued working on sketching and physical models for the tin can, cardboard box and tube food concepts. We got a visit in our worspace from the swedes.
At night we had dinner at Villa Paradiso with our guests.

The day started with the question of the day as usual. Todays question was “what’s your favourite emoji and why?”. We discussed and laughed about it for around 15 minutes. Then we did a sketching exercise regarding the tin can. Each person was to sketch a part of the tin can for 30 seconds, then switch to the person to their left. This was fun, and the team wanted to do another one, but we didn’t have time for that because of the museum visit by the end of the day. After the sketching exercise they were sketching ideas individually for 30 minutes before splitting in to two teams. One team continued to make concepts for the tin can, the other half were working on the tube. The goal was to make concepts and sketches ready for the presentation for the presentation/discussion with Johannes on Monday morning.
At 13:00 we went to the architecture museum in Oslo together to do something else and for teambuilding. Not only the museum was useful, but also taking the bus, train and walking together as a group. We got the opportunity to connect and talk about other interests. The architecture museum was chosen because it’s free for design students and because it’s small. Making it easier to stick together as a group. The team also looked at the models and compared it to the prototyping we’re going to do in this project.

Reality check
It was becoming clear that the concept that was being developed was missing the “prevent Food waste” mark. First thing on Monday we had the dreaded conversation about moving on. Aka “kill your babies”. This went surprisingly well. We proposed the idea to compare them against our “core values” and the team debated then stated that they weren’t matching up. A new object was introduced. This was well received and we proceeded to have some roundtable brain-dumping. Using a fun and light method called Superheros, we were able to loosen the team up and start thinking about the new object.
2-hour independent sketching to explore the possibilities while considering the core values.
To allow the quieter members to share their opinions about the team's sketches we tried something new. As each person shared their ideas, the others (and us) would write on post-its one positive comment and one critical. This was a successful way of not only recording but to encourage the team to think and share criticism. Although the exercise was tiring and the sharing/sorting of all the notes was messy.
We ended the day with a light game down in the game room.

Wednesday 29/11
The day started with the now traditional morning question. The one for today was “what is your favorite kitchen tool?”. Everyone shared and the team started working on concepts for the products previously chosen. They advanced in this until the time of sharing with Wood Pack 4 came. To our surprise, both teams were working on similar products. The teams shared ideas and then we had lunch.
After lunch, the team started working on 3D models based on previous sketching and thought. Given that the leaders had guidance at 13:30, they were given the task to work on this until 14:30, and the condition was to work in the workshops to make them use new materials, get inspiration and change of workspace. Guidance went well. All groups shared about their one-on-one conversations and gave advice about specific concerns. Kasper said he wants to make more coffee, while Briar said she should drink less of it.
At 14:30, after guidance was over, we went back to the room and the team shared their models. It was good to see they had experienced new materials like clay and chicken wire. They had new thoughts on solutions, but later in the end of the day meeting, we realized we needed to put more leadership into the discussions and feedback given to their ideas, because the project was loosing direction. Even though that was out conclusion, it is good to see the team engaged in the project.
