The hip hop mogul talks his return to acting, love for the Harry Potter series, and much more! In the November issue of The Hollywood Reporter, Drake takes center stage.

Drake on his future with music:

“I’m sure I’ll stop [making music] one day,” says Drake of rapping. “When it starts to feel like I’m making it up. Hopefully I’ll catch it before I ever get there, right? But right now it feels like we just started, so I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon. But I do plan on expanding — to take six months or a year to myself and do some great films. Music’s always there.”

The Boy Meets World Tour makes it to New Zealand!

Drake announced he’d be taking the BMWT to Australia and New Zealand back in September, with tickets going on sale soon after. The first leg of the Boy Meets World Tour kicked off in January of this year and on the 3rd, the second leg kicked off in Auckland! Just like the first leg of the tour, fans in Australia and New Zealand get to experience the Death of the Sun inspired globe in all it’s glory!

During the Toronto International Film Festival, Drake was spotted at the premiere of “The Carter Effect” film which he had a hand in. The night before the premiere he sat down for an intimate “interview” with Lebron James and Chris Bosh where they discussed how they formed a bond, the city of Toronto, Vince Carter, and more!

The Carter Effect is a film that details Vince Carter’s time in Toronto and the impact him playing for the Raptors had on the city. Drake is an executive producer of the film as well as his manager, FuturethePrince.

In this conversation amongst friends, the trio reminisce on how they first met at Fring’s in Toronto. Drake also gives a first-hand account of Vince Carter’s impact on the culture of Toronto.

Drake’s annual Houston Appreciation Weekend kicked off yesterday with it’s charity BBQ!

For anyone unfamiliar with HAW, the event started in 2014 and has since become one of the biggest party weekends of the year. Pool parties, concerts, and basketball are just some of the events that take place over the course of the festival.

HAW 2017 started off with a community barbecue at Emancipation Park. There was free food, free school supplies, bounce houses and all sorts of games for the kids! Drake also took to the stage and spoke to a crowd of fans at the event.

Last night via his Instagram account, Drake dropped two versions of a Virginia Black Whiskey commercial featuring his dad, Dennis Graham!

Last year, Drake introduced the world to his line of Virginia Black whiskey, adding to his list of business ventures outside music. The reception was positive and the promotion for VB hasn’t let up yet. If you’re familiar with Don Equis and his “Most Interesting Man In The World” schtick, then you caught the subtle jab Drake threw before introducing his father as the “The Realest Dude Ever”, a title that clearly fits!

“I went off in the ’16, give me ’17” – Drake

He did it last year with ‘Views’ and he’s doing it this year with ‘More Life’. The results are in and for the first 6 months of this year, Drake is the most streamed artist with a total of 3.7 billion streams! And with 1.8 billion streams, ‘More Life’ is the most streamed album for the first half of 2017.

In total consumption, Drake is also #1 with  2,989,039 units.

In case you forgot, Drake dominated the end of the year charts for 2016. He was the most streamed artist of 2016 and “One Dance” feat. Kyla and Wizkid was the song of the summer!

Recently, Partynextdoor sat down with celebrity interviewer, Nardwuar, for an interview!

As he always does, Nardwuar hits Party with a series of classic records to reminisce on. In Party’s case, most of the records are from Jamaica and Trinidad, a nod to his own personal musical style. Surprising a crowd of concertgoers celebrating Canada’s 150th birthday, OVO Sound gave us a preview of what we can expect from OVO Fest!

Last night, Dvsn started off their set at the concert being held at Nathan Phillips Square at City Hall. Appearing during their set, Drake addressed the crowd before he began performing, expressing his love for Canada. “I’m here tonight, it’s a honor and a pleasure, truly, to be celebrating Canada’s 150th,” Drake told the sea of people. “And I want to tell you when we celebrate Canada, we celebrate all these individuals from all races, all places, that came here and found solitude in this beautiful country. We celebrate our Indigenous Peoples. We celebrate the land that we’re standing on tonight.”

Just a few short hours ago, Drake took to Instagram to announce the date for OVO Fest 2o17.

August 7th is the date for the eighth annual OVO Fest that will be held at the Budweiser Stage. So far, the lineup is strictly OVO Sound. Partynextdoor, dvsn, Majid Jordan, Roy Wood$, and Drake himself will be taking the stage during the one day festival.

Tickets will be available for purchase this Thursday at 10am on Ticketmaster.Ca!
