Zagreus’s stare flies by Ignis, not intense enough that the man could have felt it- however he does keep his head tilted with curiosity at the other’s general direction, already full of questions. Ever so inquisitive; but there are already words floating between them again, before the blonde could ask anything.

“Hmn, now that you mention it. I have not been able to figure the time either, not meaning an hourly basis, but rather…”

if there’s anything distinct about zagreus it’s his look- still dawned in his robes from home, draped over one half of his torso, laurels still wrapped around the back of his head. and then there’s that shoulderpiece. it can get gaudy, he thinks, but his look wouldn’t be complete without it! 

“oh dear. there goes my plan to ask you about the date. i’m sure we will find our answers soon. they are... different names here, so i fear i may not be too much help.” still, zagreus tilts his head to the side, glancing upwards a moment.  

“the month hekatombaion, if that’s to ring any bells.”

"oh, i know brooding. you almost certainly were brooding. either that, or you were contemplating someone's demise. neither of which are negative things, of course! a 'scheming and dastardly side' is also an important thing to have."

“it looks like my positive streak has run dry.” zagreus feigns a frustrated sigh. “i will have to go back to all of my lonesome brooding, it seems. and here i thought i was starting to turn over a new leaf. though if i am allowed a dastardly scheme, this isn’t so bad. what’s life without a little action, hm?”

Ignis tilts his head to a side just slightly, taking a moment to try and figure such a place that fits the description the stranger is giving. Somewhere without glass? with many statues? and constant homage to the gods?

it couldn’t be that… “You… seem to be describing somewhere with a culture very deep set in its ways or, you are from another time.”

it looks as if zagreus looks at ignis for a long time as well- everything, even down to the other’s clothes are so vastly different to the prince. though, he does try not to stare too much. it could still be considered rude. 

“you’re right on the nose with that one, mate. both of those things sound pretty... correct, if i do say so myself. asking around for the time has been rather...“ he scratches at his head. “confusing, to say the least. many different words all to describe the same thing.“

“i… rather appreciate that, sir. more than you could think. red suits me far more.” jokes aside, it almost looks like zagreus begins to glow a little brighter underneath his serious expression, a small smile beginning to form. “i never liked being a victim of my circumstances, so i consider this a breath of fresh air!” in a way, zagreus did manage to escape the underworld after all. though it didn’t take him very long to realize that this isn’t his world of the living.

“a sad silk trader?” zagreus looks offended by this. “my silks are joyous, thank you very much! and for that, i won’t be giving you the first customer discount.” he shakes his head, clicking his tongue. “tsk tsk, miss. i guess my wonderful silks will find a new owner yet.” he isn’t actually a silk trader, and is just trying to take the piss out of her.

“on the contrary,” zagreus puts a hand to his chest. “there are plenty of things that add to my ‘brooding pillar of charm.’ though i believe not answering questions add to my ‘mysterious yet beautiful’ side.” he pauses for a moment. “wait… am i brooding? i wasn’t aware that i was brooding just a moment ago.”
