This character is such an important part of my life. I have days where my chronic pain is so severe it's overwhelming to even get up and walk. It means so much to me to see a character my age that I can relate with. I find so much comfort with him because I know he wouldn't dismiss my struggles.

The worst part of chronic pain is how invisible it is to others. "Good" days my pain is only a 4 or a 5 with mediation but flare ups (as well as cold weather) makes it go up to 7-8 easily, (I'd reserve 9 pain level for things like when I had to ride in a plane, I literally had to have my parents help me walk afterwards once it landed).

I have days where my knee buckles and I fall, I have days where it feels like someone I stabbing my kneecap with a screwdriver and twisting it. My hips feel like glass shards. I can't even walk in cold sections in a grocery store for long because that makes the pain so much worse.

I get so frustrated from how painful this is and how no one around me understands what I go through just because they can't see it. Or because I stay silent about my pain and everyone assumes I'm perfectly fine just because I'm not complaining about it.

It means the world to me seeing a character experience something similar and it makes me feel so validated (hate that fucking phrase lmao but whatever).

I really wish I had someone real like him in my life. He would be understanding over my limitations and wouldn't judge me. But fictional character or not- I'm grateful he's in my life. Sometimes you need that reminder that you're not alone dealing with this shit.

I think about this character all the time and he's honestly one of the huge reasons I've kept pushing myself and kept seeking more medical treatment, as well as not give up fighting for disability. I had my ALJ hearing earlier this month. Haven't gotten the decision back yet but hoping for the best and even if I don't win, at least he inspired me to keep moving forward and not give up.

I still need to suck it up and get a blood panel done soon...one dr. wants to make sure I don't have vEDS and I'm like oh ok cool thanks I might have the shittiest subtype of that disease huh LMAO.

What the hell, I've actually never seen this episode before! I don't have this season on DVD so must have accidentally skipped it on streaming.

I'm so happy to see more of Joe Jack! He doesn't have a speaking role in this ep but I'm just as hyped to see him.

He's not even in the episode long, but it still made my day to see him as a background character.

Ugh it's frustrating that even with 2 damn wrist surgeries I still deal with constant chronic pain!

I'm still really happy I managed to start AND finish at least one new cel though. I went over a year and a half without art and won't lie that really affected me negatively. I miss art it was great to reconnect even if only briefly. Hoping I can get a few more pieces done this year even if it's not too often.

Self shipping with this character is like "I wish I lived in that rat infested house with him and we could read The Shining together" haha.

I'm glad I reconnected with his character, he's been one of my favourites since childhood but I've never actually shipped with him until now.

Only I'm omitting the Mr. Hyde persona completely and instead viewing him as someone struggling with bad mental health. I reconnected with his character when I was dealing with heavy PTSD flashbacks, debilitating panic attacks, and anger and he's one of the few things helping me through this. He helps me in the same way Justin does to not feel shame over my health conditions that are affecting me (only Justin helps me cope with physical health problems, and Henry with mental health).

I love when old favourites circle back into your life and in a meaningful or relatable way like this.

I am in a lot of distress from how severe my panic attacks are (accompanied by heart palpitations, hallucinations, and maybe 4 hours of sleep total). I am also emotionally and physically worn out by how badly my chronic pain flare-up is right now too.
