It might be recency bias, but I just finished Revolutionary Girl Utena again, and saw I Saw The TV Glow in theaters, and now I want to mention something I feel they have in common. Continuing after the read more for spoilers.

I feel like the betrayals in both stories come from basically the same place: fear of change, of making a step away from routine, even if it would be for the better.

In I Saw The TV Glow, Owen runs away from Maddy on the football field. In Utena, Anthy stabs Utena in the final showdown.

so i was taking a stroll through the "papyrus is gaster" tag and decided there wasnt nearly enough so i made this little experiment

(also the text in the bg is gaster followers dialogue, wrong number song, goner kid dialogue, and entry 17 in papyrus font)

(also the implications of papyrus simultaneously the knight and gaster are going to be my life blood for the next month👍)
