I'm so glad this Meur ID is smoking. You would not believe how much that man smokes in the book. I know part of it is that he's French but my god Monsieur Meursault smoked like a damn chimney. This ID is the most book-accurate because he's chuffing a fat dart.

Lei-sault Thoughts

I'm probably going to have thoughts on every single Meursault ID (and probably E.G.O too)

And I started with Middle Meursault, so let's continue.

I'd been saving Lunacy for trying to get Thumb Capo iiii Meursault. And the day that he came out I got really devastating news. So... I'm very glad I got him first try (I also got him with Blade Lineage Sinclair, the irony).

I didn't think much about how hot this particular Meursault was, (something about his hair extensions on the shoulders threw me off) but he was particularly saved by Meursault's VA and uptie story.

He's fun, but again, a literal Lei Heng, so it's fun to see the big flashy abilities on my side of the field.

Some parts I really enjoyed of his uptie story was the lore about the Thumb and comparing it to The Middle IDs we have (I want to see Meursault and Sinclair having the same syndicate IDs, please Project Moon team), and trying to figure out who he was talking to. An AU Ryōshū? Jia Mu? Feminine Dante? Hope we find out! And the last line where Carmen's like "oh he's smiling but he doesn't realize it" at the sight of either that AUs Limbus Company, or Hong Lu and his Heishou. (SMILING MEURSAULT MEME REAL???)

But, I don't think he's going to be my favorite. The strange emphasis on manners so far is better explained with The Middle, than the Thumb. Meursault's Evening greeting is trying to explain how it's bad manners to arrive at a home unexpectedly, until the someone (either the uptie story person he was talking to or Dante) corrects him and tells him to be a good host. And Morning is similar, demanding a morning report with lots of details and keeping manners in mind. And the idle demands you leave his sight.

I'm... not a fan of mean IDs, which is strange when it's Meursault cause even his BASE ID is kind of mean. Not even JUST blunt (badum-tsh pun not intended).

He's a good Lei Heng ID, I suppose. Not my favorite Meursault, but he gets the job done if you like flashy attacks.

Middle Little Brother Meursault is so babygirl coded.

You'd think an ID that beats you to death would be intimidating, then you see his passive boosts IDs depending on how many of the IDs work together in their canons (power of friendship)

Then his lines when he's loaded up in the window...

"The family wants to have a word with you." - slughtly intimidating.

If you aren't doing anything outside, why join the family for lunch? - Friendly. Surprisingly out of character as Meursault would usually leave others to their own devices.

I... can't flake on drinking night with the family. - combined with the other quotes, seems like he'd prefer to stay with the manager (A.K.A., us)

"I'm not used to being alone..." - pointing fingers together core. (T3T) core. Babygirl core.

It's not the fact that Meursault getting another antagonist ID is baffling... it's the fact he LOST OUT on a Helper/hero ID specifically that seemed to fit his vibe SO WELL.

Jia Qiu has much more care than Meursault shows, (Lei Heng does too, but it's more so only in the original Korean,) and that's likely why we aren't getting it.

But still, the ONE ID people believe he's going to get. A character quite enjoyed by most who played through Canto 8. And yet he is the villain.

THAT is the focus point I want to look at.

How much longer until... IF Meursault gets an ID that is a helper or a hero? We're looking at an IF situation...

What's with Meursault only getting antagonistic (or ambivilant) IDs?

Am I the only one who sees this?

Base Meursault - Purely on here because I'm suspicious of him. Also he looks SO much like Gubo...

Dead Rabbits Boss - Probably killed by Wild Hunt specifically, but given how "Matt" acts, it's a loose antagonism that is pInted for this Meursault ID

Liu - Ambivalent for now but we haven't seen Liu pop up

Middle Little Brother - We have Ricardo as a running villain, so naturally we fight the Middle a lot, but also... Rodion's backstory.

Rosespanner - Antagonists in Canto 4

Blade Lineage - Kim is a Distorted Boss and Meursault, despite his arts, has his nugget look closer to the distortion.

Jermsault/Cinq - Antagonistic towards Don Quixote

Leisault - Antagonistic towards Ryōshū

N Corp - that group is THE source where our main villains are able to get their things. Meursault having a Großhammer to go against Sinclair (or partner with Bad End Sinclair) seems to match a little close...

R Corp - Possible antagonists in Canto 8 + R Corp Hong Lu and Ishmael is implied to die at his and Heathcliff's hands in the uptie

Deici - Ambivalent, but really shady. Maybe we'l learn more later.

W Corp - Ambivalent.

Jia Qiu had the best makings for another slash Meursault (the only ones are charge specific IDs) but instead we're getting a 000 with Lei Heng based ID... (another blunt and pierce probably). Another... villain.

This could be that it is just the City. Lots of people get IDs of villains but... Ryōshū's butler ID uptie changes her story compared to Nelly's story... Bad Ends are simply those, taking the place of a character specific villain or horrible scenario where they made a different choice for the worse... they still have some IDs that seek to be better. Don's two Cinqs still want justice, R Corp Heathcliff wants to prove himself, N Corp Rodion fights for a cause she believes in instead of just... doing for work like Meursault, Middle Little Brother Sinclair is working up the ranks, Rosespanner Gregor has technology he wants to make...

And Meursault is drifting. Cast as the villain. Nigh always.

Maybe he's just a stranger. Maybe...
