Saying it’s a spectrum isn’t really an excuse though, it’s a very hard (and sometimes harsh) fact. Not every asexual person is the same. Some will never actually want to be touched and are repulsed by it while others love having sex but just don’t have the thought to make the first move. It’s wild and insane and unfairly complicated.

And as an asexual person you can relate which I am happy for cause explaining that to someone who isn’t is sometimes like talking to a rubber wall; they just throw my words at me like a dingus.

We just want them to happy! Especially since SOMEONE decided to WRITE THEM GOING OFF TO THE UNKNOWN

One gripe I have with the tma fandom is that they will not stop sexualizing Jon aka the ONE asexual character and then be like “Well asexuality is a spectrum! Asexual people can have sex!” Which yeah, true, but they say Jon doesn’t period. Literally the direct quote is like “Oh yeah Jon doesn’t at all.” AT ALL. Now stop writing/drawing that man having sex so fucking much

I need to first say that I am very glad that we are at a point where we can all share our experiences and expressions. And that we can have a character who is asexual and isn’t played as a joke. Rarely are we taken seriously and the two times I’ve seen asexual characters it was either played as a pun in someones stupidity (cobra Kai) or they were a cruel bitch (sex education)

With that being said, I personally never viewed having a character who (canon or fanon) was asexual coded having sex as something of a big deal. Of course that is just MY opinion and I do not speak for all asexuals.

And while I am sure many of those who identify as asexual face the same problems (oh if you meet the right one you’ll be fixed! That sort of thing). I always found it comforting that if a person wrote someone who was asexual and wrote them well (you know not like a robot) and allowed them to have stereotypical experiences.

Just like you said: Asexuals can have sex. Asexuals can enjoy sex. Not every asexual is the same. It’s noted that Jon doesn’t have sex, well that doesn’t mean he wouldn’t have sex with Martin. The fact is we don’t know about his sex life because these are fictional characters. And even if they weren’t, even if Jon and Martin were living breathing people it would none of our business.

Please understand that you can do whatever you want you want with your interruption of the character. So long as the characters aren’t abused, as long as the writer isn’t doing anything that Johnny wouldn’t approve of, where is the harm in finding comfort in a way different than your own?

And again, please understand this is not to meant to be an attack. We’re all different, we all have our own wants, needs, and desires. And if someone is writing your favorite ship doing something you don’t approve of, then you don’t have to read it. Or if someone isn’t doing something you want to see, you’re free to write it.

The important thing is that we’re keeping the spirit of these characters alone. And love, in any form, shouldn’t be shunned, even if you yourself don’t want to see it.
