There is no "after the revolution." No "ideal world." I don't care how much progress we make, we will always fail someone, hurt someone, and the best thing we can do is accept that, and keep striving to make it better as we go.
And don't get me wrong, I don't say this to discourage anyone from trying to make that ideal world. Quite the opposite.
I feel like it's very naive to continue to approach these big changes we want to make in the world as if there's an "after it's all over" when we don't have to worry about it anymore.
We should always be striving to make life better, even when life seems pretty damn good.

Shanspeare has always provided insightful commentary and watching will also help Ahmed Matar who desperately needs funding so he and his family can escape from Gaza and help.
youtube
Shanspeare's linktree also contains links to numerous aid organisations, so please have a look through if you are in the financial position to help.

People claiming it’s not okay to criticize israel around october 6th/7th because it’s a sensitive time (you sound like people who consider 9/11 a borderline sacred holiday btw) for Palestinians that is every day. You understand that right. Not only did october 7th ruin many of THEIR lives as well every single day is a day they lose hundreds of lives. Every single day they are hit with terror attacks from the idf. Every day is their occupation. They don’t even get an anniversary or a day or minute of mourning or acknowledgement

Guys the situation in Khan Younis is so scary that I don’t even know how to put it into words anymore. All it takes is looking up the city and seeing headlines like “over 100 of bodies ripped to pieces in Khan Younis!” “An Israeli airstrike decimates a house in Khan Younis belonging to x family!” “Even in the midst of ceasefire talks, Israeli forces continue pushing into Khan Younis” for all-consuming anxiety to seize me for all the families that have yet to evacuate. It’s getting so so bad there & yet so many people are still unable to evacuate.

4 seats to Green despite having barely any media coverage
The haunted victorian pencil has lost his seat
Jeremy Corbyn has kept his despite keef's efforts to unseat him
A bunch of racist arseholes voted in some useless racist twats because they got loads of media coverage (fuck you bbc)
Truss lost her seat but not to a lettuce this time
Diane Abbott has kept her seat as she should
IDS won his seat because starmer is a useless racist welly and deselected the popular candidate, Faiza Shaheen, so he could parachute in a stooge
Wes Streeting, the useless little lickspittle, nearly lost his seat to an independent candidate
Jess Phillips only held onto her seat by 700 votes and she's supposed to be one of labour's most popular candidates

OK, UK folks, time for another soapbox moment:
Labour won. Ok, great (dont be surprised if your trans friends arent thrilled).
Now make them work for it. Here's what you're gonna do:
1. Email your new local MP to congratulate them. If they won a tory stronghold, remind them how tenuous their position is. If they're a tory that managed to keep their seat, point out how lucky they are compared to the rest of the country. Remind them that they work for US, so if they want to keep their seat, they'd better act like it.
1.5) if you still have a tory, who came second? If a left candidate, email them too, you hope they continue their good work despite the setback. You'll be watching.
2. Save you MP's email address, and make their lives HELL. Every important vote that comes up, you email before and after, to make your case, and then praise/admonish as appropriate.
2.5) Follow them on their socials as well, wherever possible, and keep the conversation going there, too. No, it likely won't be them personally on their emails and socials, but whoever is being paid to ghost write for them, I guarantee you they're not being paid enough. Crank up that turnover rate.
3. Get involved where you can. Mutual aids, grassroots political orgs, anywhere that gives you a louder voice and more direct route to your MP, and helps your community.
4. Don't. Stop. Don't get complacent - Labour (starmer especially) still want people like me dead. Them winning doesn't change much for me unless the whole country exercises their right to free speech, and fucking leans on them.
The Tories are the opposition, so they are going to dig their heels in at every vaguely left decision and vote. They will cry "you're doing too much, don't go that far left" before we even get close to centre, so our job now is to be louder than them, and let Labour know that whatever they're doing, they can absolutely do MORE.
Make them fucking work for it.

"If the Israeli assault stopped today, and we decided to hold a funeral every single day for each Palestinian killed in the last eight months, it would take us 100 years to honor them all."
The Palestinian speaker at the UN Security Council highlights the devastating toll of casualties among Palestinians resulting from the Israeli genocide in Gaza.
