different worlds, different sights, different people. they were all the same, humans ... but as someone who wasn't like them & who spent a lot of time observing their strange ways of living their lives, zeke noticed the differences, as subtle as they were. at the end of the day they all strived for the same thing. coin, recognition, love. he wasn't too different from them, maybe - though, yes, he was. his main objective was food. it always would be & he didn't really care for coin unless it provided him with exotic meats or something of that caliber, which it rarely ever did. at least... nothing he couldn't pick up himself if he wanted to. he had the portals, he had the claws, he had the endurance. he was capable of providing for himself just fine.
unlike some of these humans. watching them make a fool of themselves for a few coins was fascinating as it was amusing, but this one seemed especially desperate, singing for the crowd gathered around him, which - well, included zeke right now, hood draped over his head even when it was him who was chosen to assist? he couldn't even earn his keep ....by himself? what a pitiful creature he was. zeke had felt drawn to this place, to the music, he deemed it curiosity, but maybe there was more going on. a trap? "heck no." hands up in the air, tugging on his hood just a little to bear a set of fangs in his mouth. "i'm a hunter, not a .... busker."

Where: Out in the streets near Tiana's restaurant
One of his very favorite places to visit was the lively town near Tiana's restaurant (which had really good food, honestly). Parin never really considered himself to have a home, but if he did, it would certainly be there. He loved the music, the colors, the atmosphere! It was everything he could have wanted. Plus, he could play his pipe and lute without the (potential) worry of annoying people. Not that Parin ever really cared about that, but he supposed that if given the option to annoy or not annoy people, he'd choose the latter.
Strolling through the cobblestoned streets, Parin strummed his lute, singing proudly and garnering himself a fun little crowd. It was exactly what he wanted. He walked around the crowd, dancing to the beat of his own lute, before he paused and held up a hand, "I believe I am in the need of an assistant for this next part of the song." The bard announced with a smile and walked around until he stopped before a man, holding his hand out towards them, "How about you? You look like someone who has musical talent." Parin grinned.

"nah, i'm uh.... i'm good up here." they said dogs could could swim, but zeke wasn't a dog & he didn't really want to put that myth to the test just yet. or ever. eric promised to teach him how to swim, but zeke hadn't been around long enough for more than a few lessons. he didn't even know why he was here, although maybe he did. that room kit got him at the castle reminded him how beautiful the sunset could be, so he came to see it in person & ended up finding someone else here with him. "not sure if that's a ... what that means." was this one of those sayings people used? wouldn't be the first time he got lost that way.
location: on the coast/docks in the little mermaid realm
there's no part of him that's royal anymore. once you're banished, that sort of title is stripped from you. yet he still acts like this land is his. ursula looks out into the sea, almost longingly, and sighs happily. “if you want to go for a swim, then be my guest. i think i'm just going to keep watch though.” they laugh softly, almost like it's an inside joke even though they're the only one that are in on it. “unless you want tentacles wrapping around your legs.” valentine doesn't even know who he's talking to. he's just heard footsteps, but the gaze to the sea is too strong to tear away right now.

"feisty." zeke huffed out a little laugh in response, "and no, i didn't mean my scruff." he never thought about comparing his facial hair to anybody else's, but... hm. it didn't matter, really, he wasn't unhappy no matter what the other thought. "there's more to me than you can see, believe it or not. maybe you get lucky enough to see." not that he cared if the other believed him or not. he didn't need to prove his worth to anybody. he also didn't go around showing off his wolf side to random strangers, but when challenged…. maybe he would. right now, his hood his the fluffy ears, so he assumed he looked somewhat human. with fangs. "you out here for a reason? most people stay inside where it's warmer." he knew why he was out here, but unless the other was looking for a snack as well, he didn't know.
Crewel couldn't help but laugh. "You mean that patchy and pitiful attempt at a beard on your face? Or are you hiding some fuzz underneath that clothing?" The laugh faded, but the smile remained as Crewel's pale eyes took the time to gaze over the stranger, mind already wandering to where in this land they could go that might be warmer. Warm enough to take some layers off. "True," his attention turned back to the tree line, "caves seem likely. Plenty of places to hide from the elements. Plenty of places to hide and observe when being pursued." Crewel licked his lips, already anticipating what his first hunt in this land could be, and what kind of beast lurked in those caves that he could claim a trophy from.

it wasn't even a lie, because zeke truly didn't care about humans as a species. he ..had a few who he could've ...or rather should've killed & didn't, weak links he cared not to speak about, but as a general rule of thumb, he really didn't care about their lives at all. they were yummy twelve-course meals he'd gladly devour, though he'd become more picky over the years. humans often tasted ... strange. he wasn't sure if it was the lives they led or whatever else influenced their taste, but he found the animal world to be more reliable. "some did, but i handled it." shrug. zeke wasn't helpless, he wasn't alive for so long to be surprised by much anymore - at least not when it came to survival. he didn't often meet other people who were so ...accepting of what he told them, almost like gothel was embracing zeke's wild side & enjoying the stories he had in store. they excited him, too. he'd become a little tame, maybe. though he had no qualms in picking up the pace again if presented with the right opportunity. "egos big enough not to fit in their armor, yeah." made for easy targets. zeke didn't always want a chase. "i mean royal families never really seem to be smart, do they?" he'd like to exclude kit, because he'd become quite fond of the little human prince. but everybody else? yeah. "you planning to get up to any mischief? i'd be happy to help." though he assumed keeping eyes & ears open, maybe prying a little, was part of that. free & alone ... sounded ... a little suspicious. but not the bad kind. maybe he'd come see the other later, share what he could find out. "do you got beef with only them or are there others?"
rumors are his lively hood. spirits love to chatter and well, gothel loves to listen. even if they're not true, there's always some information to be taken from them. “the big bad wolf with no need for humans.” some would say that's cliche. the death king? he'd say that's power. it means that zeke would be willing to make the harder choices because he probably doesn't care too much about people. after all, they're just meals for him. gothel is the same way. even though he doesn't eat humans, after losing his siblings there's really no one else he cares about. well, aside from that little blond but… it was complicated to the point that he doesn't even know how to explain it anymore. “some people would surprise you, although it's not likely.” hearing ezekiel talk about the thrill of a chase excites even him. gothel has been so used to being more stationary, hidden, that he's almost forgotten how fun it can be. “knights also think their ego keeps them safe and often times their dumb actions are what get them killed.” the noble family of corona is lucky he doesn't want to risk dying. “i am. they're idiots letting me stay here, but who am i to say no?” a wide smile forms on his face, like the innocent man he pretend sto be. “you can come find me. i'll probably be free and alone.”

truth be told, zeke was full of shit. because someone had tortured him & he'd let them walk away. worse even. he saw him regularly & even though he sometimes wondered if he shouldn't just end him, zeke never actually went close to trying. quite the opposite, much like with vilem... he felt drawn to him. his curse, clearly. he was drawn towards those he shouldn't be drawn to. or something like that. but as per usual, he'd do his best to make the other believe he was this monster everybody was afraid of. not that he wasn't, but not all the things people whispered about him was true. he enjoyed a bloodbath, truly, but he was ...well, it was complicated sometimes. though, most people who crossed him, really didn't survive it. there were just exceptions, which generally proved a rule, right? yeah. "that's right." there hadn't been much fanfare the other time. they wanted each other, they ...got each other. zeke lost control of his shift & well, the rest ...was history. honestly, vilem should've been flattered he did that to zeke, because only few hook-ups left him so relaxed & spent he forgot who he was for the time being. but, they really didn't have to go over it again. "strangers, huh? guess i deserved that." he didn't know what they were... he really didn't, but they had long since passed strangers. what else was there, though? zeke didn't care about sides of the bed, but vilem seemed calm with his choice, so zeke would be, too. he ...couldn't remember feeling this ...on edge last time they shared a bed, which was annoying. yes, that. "can't disagree there." people were stupid, except...for a few. he'd like to count the old farmer to that list of exceptions, too. zeke followed suit & propped himself up on an arm facing the other. "you still okay? sharing your bed with a stranger and all?"
honestly, a part of him did wonder if there was anyone out there that could've gotten zeke into a corner and tortured him a bit. no one was coming to mind. not rory. not the three brothers. hell, not even the royals or himself. that was why he didn't even push him or challenge him when he said that no one could torture him. “you're safe in that realm then. lucky even. they're not even going to want to touch you after everything that you've done.” a small grin played on his face when the wolf said that they wouldn't survive. was he thinking about how he would torture and kill them? yes. was it giving him a little bit of joy since it had been a long time since he saw carnage? yes. although he would never admit that out loud. it wasn't very human of him. if anything, it was the same streak that attracted maeve and rory to monsters. it would be so hypocritical for him to be the one that they gained that gene from. “i guess that i don't know you that well. we haven't really spent any alone time aside from, well, you know. i don't think i have to say it out loud.” maybe he was turning a new leaf. vilem realized that this wasn't normal for the two of them and for once, he wasn't fully judging the other for being a beast. “i don't know you and you don't know me. we might as well be strangers then.” he shrugged casually. they weren't. zeke could picture him naked and not everyone in his life could do that. he nodded slightly and crawled into the bed. normally he slept in the middle, since he didn't have to worry about someone else being there with him. although this time, he took the left side of the bed. farthest from the window, but closest to what would be considered the door towards the entrance. not that he thought he was going to have to runaway in the middle of the night, but just in case. “i like my space and i like my privacy. i'm also not going to move just because of rory's connection to the royal family, this has always been home. plus, people are stupid. the farther away they are the better.” vilem propped himself up on the bed against the pillows.

"'s fine. just not something that happens often." besides others not getting close to him due to what he was, if they did, they didn't come to pick food from his chin. but it... told him more about the other than he might've thought. though he was quick to share intel nonetheless. a servant. that made sense & explained the little show & tell. zeke couldn't imagine serving someone else. it ... felt wrong. he was a free spirit. nobody would ever tame him. nobody could. but other people were different & he accepted that. humans were weird anyway.
"singing oysters." he repeated with a little nod even though he had no idea what that meant. well, he knew oysters even though sea creatures weren't part of his every-day diet. “no food sings here. except humans.” he replied with a quirked brow. "what about the fish?" would he rather starve than eat mediocre food? zeke couldn't even... imagine that. if not for company, he'd have devoured half the offered goods by now & dragged himself up into a tree with a full belly for a nice nap. "what else do they serve where you're from?" he didn't really feel like a servant with how picky he was.
Illadro chuckled. "Forgive me for the intrusion into your space," he shook his head, "sometimes old habits refuse to die. Former servant to the Red Court, now Knave within that very same Court. A different title but sometimes the tasks remain the same." Servant to the Red Court was at the beck and call of anyone above him, but as the Knave, he was at the beck and call of The Red King himself. Rather than serving everyone, he served only one. Grooming included, but he knew how he liked the King's hair to be styled.
Further observation of the food didn't inspire much confidence, and Illadro shook his head once more. "Oysters. Usually they sing so they are easy to locate, here apparently not."

"oh." well that ... was quite clear. many words used, though it came down to the most important bit rounded it all up. he couldn't miss his intentions now even if he tried. zeke wasn't sure how he felt about it, mostly because hearing an alternative to sex was to be fed expensive meats, because well.... meat would always win. food would always win. the wolf let his eyes roam across the room towards the other, avoiding meeting his gaze, but ... not for too long. he scratched behind one of his ears, inching a little closer. "shouldn't offer meats when you wanna fuck, little king. you should know food's always gonna win with a beast like me." he'd thought servants had been sent away to protect them. apparently not. it was fine for him, he wasn't against the idea.
he couldn't quite tell if he ever had wine before, but he eventually made his way over to reach for the additional glass to sip. definitely didn't have wine before. he didn't quite like the way it made him feel, but warmth pooled in his belly nonetheless. he wanted to play him like a ...what? "you're.. very direct." he wasn't used to that for he wasn't like that at all & most people he met were.. similar to him. "not against it."
averting gaze still, zeke set the glass down & reached up to undo the buttons on his shirt, tugging it over his head together with his undershirt, revealing a chest that wasn't unblemished, though for the life the wolf led, it may surprise after all. werewolf healing was good, but when it came to silver .... wounds would still scar. for as hairy as he seemed to be in his other form, his chest really was not. "thought you brought me here to... i dunno, see my true form. people tend to."
Alaric laughed that bright clear laugh, like a bell being run in winter air, so sharp and crystalline. "What do I want from you Zeke? I want you. You are beyond handsome. You are dangerous and alluring, I want to have sex with you Zeke I thought I was quite clear with that, I invited you to my chambers, I sent my servants away. I want to partake in you. However you wish to give it to me. Unless you don't in which case. I will be very sad but I will sit here and drink and offer you rare meats from my homeland." he said with a sigh, spreading his legs as he raked his eyes over the other. He would be content to simply hold the wolf close to him and scratch behind his ears some more. Listen to his stories about how he devoured people.
The blond man reached for a bottle of wine and poured himself a glass, and one for his guest, an offer if he wanted to take it. The wine was distilled from white strawberries, flavored with a tinge of sadness and a splash of pure joy. It tasted like a melancholic memory, something so sweet it was sad because the moment was gone. "I am not a tyrant. Though king I may be, I want you to get something out of all this Zeke. If you do not find me as desirable as I find you then that is just a sad fact I will have to accept. Though I very much would like to strum you like a lute and show you the depths of Wonderlandian pleasure. I am well endowed for a man my size, and my tongue is skilled as well." In not so many words, he wanted to fuck the other. Badly.

so, by simply listening to zeke ramble about places he meant to visit, kit figured all this out? was he for real? a whole pack of wolves could live in this room & have more space than they ever had before. should he even be here given his nature? part of him felt like he didn't deserve this - at all. too pretty, too clean, too expensive, too human. of which he was none. but kit went through the trouble of doing this for him, so... there was that. sigh.
spacious, warm & nature. zeke would like an express teleport to kit right this moment to punch him please & thank you, because how dare he be like this. the wolf spent so much time hating humans, he never really paid attention just how sweet the little prince was. sigh. "uh, right. not a fan of the open sea just yet, but maybe you can change my mind about that." teach an old dog a new trick or something. he surely would be open to giving swimming another chance.
he was still letting his eyes roam the spacious room, though his eyes would come to rest on eric again soon, wondering if it was due to him being from another kingdom or ... if he was just lucky and blessed with beauty by ...whomever made them. he shook his head a little. didn't matter. "that's ...good. though i think he's gonna be fine for a while. probably." it was never easy to say what kit was up to, but he didn't need protection all the time. he was capable of taking care of himself just fine.
he fought the urge to jump when someone else joined them, their scent wafting up his nose before he saw & heard them, but he was calm regardless. he wasn't really someone who appreciated good wine or alcoholic beverages in general, but he appreciated the sentiment. "you make it yourself?" he sniffed the air, accepting the glass to sniff it, too. "sounds like a lot of work." zeke's whole personality wouldn't support something like this; patience, work, waiting. it was... not his lifestyle. he was even too impatient to wait & roast his food, which was why he barely ate fish. big no when raw, cooking it just .. was more work than snatching himself a deer or something.
"no, yeah. it's a good room. didn't expect it to be like this." was the bed ...soft? part of him really wanted to find out. "not used to being treated like this. i'm uh... thanks." he shot him a little smile, dropping the little bundle he called his belongings on the floor by a drawer. "does the king escort everybody to their rooms or just me?"
" i know. and the palace keepers have been doing their best to make sure we have room for them, while keeping room for those in need. " eric says. if there is one thing he is proud he was able to keep running, it was this. some would say it's hospitality, and to some degree, it is. but for him it was always a responsibility: not just for him, but the whole of tirulia. these are their waters, and it's not always kind and merciful. it's only right for them to take in what it leaves in it's wake. " luckily it opened during the most prosperous years of our kingdom. "
for a moment, eric does feel a little proud as the other man walked in and observed the room. kit did request for a room fit for a royal guard. and though the tirulian royalty never needed them, for they are a small island and a small kingdom and the sea has always protected them, he does know of them and their roles in the palace. and he knows they deserve nothing but their best. " yes. well, your royal highness was very specific about the room. " he says, walking up to the window to take a glance at the setting sun, which is now coloring the room with it's warm red and orange light.
" he said it was to be spacious and warm. with a good view of nature. though, i guess, this isn't really the type of nature you are used to. " he says with an apologetic smile. there really isn't much he can do about that. the man was used to lush forests and wide clearings of grass. the best they have is their blue open seas and the rainforests that has them cut from the rest of the country. he would take him there, if that would be enough for him. " everything a noble guard would want and need. prince kit is on the other side of the hall, just across from you, if you need to keep an eye on him. and there was one more thing-- ah! "
eric's eyes lit up then, as one of their maids wheeled in a cart with a bottle on it and a tray of wine glasses. he thanked them as he left, before approaching the cart and picking up the bottle. " di marino. named it after my husband, and the best product we make if i will be honest. " he then pours them two glasses of it. the liquid was dark, like blood under the moonlight. " it's made with the best grapes that we grow here, and aged in the sea. this one's actually older than me. you should try it. "

a beat. " do you like the room? if you prefer something else, i'm sure we can arrange for it. "
