There's no way jgy could have had his hands in rusong's death because he doesn't have the means to make a guy go randomly berserk in public, something that never happened in the story so there's no prec- come on.
Like it's one thing if you are uncomfortable with liking a character who does that and fine to choose this option but don't act like it's some 100% fact and that if someone disagrees on the interpretation they don't understand the source material.
If you wanna go by only things that are cemented by canon with 0 loopholes you might as well toss out every ship.

Jiang Cheng is fashionable and rich and handsome and politically powerful and strong and skilled and smart and funny and he is still somehow a deeply cringefail sopping wet Pomeranian of a man. Now THAT’S talent.

The only person who ever loved Cinderella was Cinderella's mother. When she died, she took her child's name with her. All that was left were curses and mockery. The child flees from the abusive stepmother into abusive streets and back, finding no safe place to rest.
Cinderella meets a Prince, and there are no glass slippers or magicked ball gowns. There are only dirty rags and dirty fingers and the Prince is the only person alive with eyes that kind.
Cinderella makes magic. There is no fairy godmother to ease the way. Cinderella learns alone to fight and to read and to negotiate, to do violence and to forge peace. Cinderella fills coffers and treasuries with wealth, armouries with weapons, libraries with books, wardrobes with the finest clothes. Cinderella makes a dowry fit to give a prince from nothing but determination and time.
In the meantime, Prince Charming has taken up dumpster diving--

you know I've been vaguely into the idea of 'Jin Rusong's death was faked to avoid him growing up suspiciously in the public eye but JGY gave him to SMS to raise in the Moling Su because he obviously doesn't want to kill his kid if he can help it' for a long time, especially after reading a fun fic with the premise i'll have to dig up and rec soon, but when I brought it up to my brother recently he was like 'hey that would give him a parallel with LWJ raising his beloved's mysterious-background kid' and now it's borderline canon to me
#looks at abandoned fic that I even consulted clock for to name jrs moling su name#how long ago was this actually

Well I like it but it’s not very well written. Also it’s a visual mess. The plot doesnt make any sense and the creators suck and its politics oscillate from mildly problematic to frankly baffling. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. However. the character

AU where Meng Shi was just a bit more cynical and spent her hard-earned on buying Meng Yao study materials for the Imperial Examination instead of dodgy cultivation manuals. Cultivation is for his father to teach him, after all.
Meng Yao fucking blitzes the exam, because of course he does, and the first time he arrives at Koi Tower it's with an imperial mandate to audit the shit out of them for tax purposes.
