I know there have already been a lot of posts about Stray Kids ‘copying’ BTS, but I saw something again recently and I really have some things to say.

I’ve seen people saying Stray Kids is copying BTS by having a youth concept and singing about mental illnesses, as well as the dystopia thing (N.O. to District 9).  Okay, firstly, a group doesn’t own a concept.  That’s just dumb.  BTS didn’t copyright using youth and singing about depression, they just did it.  Plenty of other artists have sung about those same things and they haven’t gotten as nearly as much hate as Stray Kids has.

Secondly, thought they may have similar things, Stray Kids and BTS are very different in their music.  The production, lyrics, songs, mvs, it’s all different.  The only thing similar is the topics.    

Thirdly, I don’t know if you all haven’t noticed or what, but The Most Beautiful Moments in Life and Young Forever were 2-3 years ago.  BTS has moved on from that concept, sorry to break it to you.  Love Yourself is a completely new thing and concept.  I love BTS, but the music you guys are arguing that Stray Kids is copying hasn’t been done by BTS in at least a year or two.  They’ve moved forward and onward with their popularity and more mainstream stuff.

Stray Kids are a brand new group breaking boundaries.  I don’t think what they’re doing now will be just a concept or era, I think it’s something they will continue to do.  Chan produces their music, they write their own lyrics too.  And maybe this is a little off topic, but Stray Kids are singing this because it’s what they’ve experienced themselves, or saw, or felt.  You can’t copy emotions.  

So, maybe, instead of hating, you can just love and support both groups?  Please and thanks <3.
