Six months. Six months. That’s how long it took Natasha to create a new cover for herself to remain off the government’s radar after spending a year of making herself scarce. In those six months she settled down in Monaco, specifically in the bustling port quarter Monte Carlo, where she was known as Anastasia Seydoux to those who lived in her apartment building. In those six months she became  i n v i s i b l e  and lived a normal life as Ana, a simple and ditsy blonde that could seemingly do NO HARM.

Of course, it wasn’t long before her cover was R U I N E D and special forces knocked on her door ( more like kicked her door off the hinges with no mercy ) to take her in. Oh, how they were disappointed when they barged in to see the assassin no where in sight.

Natasha had been well aware of their presence as soon as they stepped into the building, quickly grabbing her emergency gear and fleeing through the window, the blonde wig still on her head now replaced with a brunette wig. From her window she made her way to the MAIN STREET where it was crowded densely and she was aware of the undercover forces dotted around to take her DOWN.

When she sensed a presence behind her, she quickened her pace and headed into a narrow and dark alleyway, where she proceeded to turn and lunge at Bucky, slamming her into the wall and keeping a firm hold on her before she recognised her face and loosened her grip on the other woman. Emerald eyes darted around them to ensure no threat was near before speaking in a hushed voice;

          ❝Barnes? You’re awake? ...What in the  H E L L  are you doing here?             Do you have ANY idea as to what you’ve just gotten yourself into?❞

Steve hadn’t wanted her to come on this trip, and she had to admit that he had good reason; if she was caught, they’d all be in deep trouble. But when she’d heard that the Black Widow had been flushed out of hiding and that Steve was planning to find her and bring her to safety, she’d insisted that he let her come along.

Look, she’d said. This woman saved your life, and mine, even though I’ve tried to kill her about half-a-dozen times. I owe her, you need back-up, and we’re all wanted right now. I can blend in fine.

Ultimately, he’d acquiesced; he was intent on being her friend, not her handler, and in this situation she was willing to exploit that.

Now she was ambling down a crowded street in Monte Carlo, hands in her pockets. Her eyes and ears were open for any hint of Natasha’s presence.

Steve’s voice came through her earpiece, a little fuzzy with static. “Anything?” he asked.

“Nothing yet,” she murmured. “No, wait–” She’d just seen someone with a familiar gait walk past, and she made a casual turn to follow them.

Natalia Alianovna Romanoff. Natasha Romanoff.

Better known as BLACK WIDOW, is one of the best spies and assassins in the world. Originally an agent of the Soviet agency for foreign intelligence, the KGB; she later became a member of S.H.I.E.L.D., the international counter-intelligence agency. Having extensive mastery in the martial arts and armed with her Widow's Bite, Black Widow was one of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s most talented agents. When Loki declared war on Earth, Black Widow joined the Avengers and helped to defend New York City.

After the Avengers defeated Loki, she continued her work with S.H.I.E.L.D., this time working with fellow agent Captain America. After the HYDRA Uprising, which resulted in all of her morally dubious history being revealed to the world, she dropped off the grid to begin rebuilding her cover. She later rejoined the Avengers, working to bring down various HYDRA cells across the world and the rogue artificial intelligence Ultron. Unlike most members of the original Avengers, Black Widow remained a member of the second incarnation of the team after the Ultron Offensive.

After the governments of the world demanded the Avengers to sign the Sokovia Accords, she AGREED to their terms. She later joined Iron Man in a fight against Captain America because his disagreements with the Accords and his criminal activities with the Winter Soldier. As the two Avengers's factions fight each other, she betrayed Iron Man's team in order to assist Captain America to find the instigator of the teammates' fight. As result, Black Widow had to escape once again from the government for aiding her old friend.

After the events of Civil War Natasha joined Captain America in freeing the remaining Avengers from the Raft and has gone on the run to avoid getting captured and imprisoned by the government.

Goddamnit. This was NOT how Natasha was expecting to start her morning ( it wasn’t at the top of the strangest things that’s happened to her but it’s up there ) and it wasn’t an enjoyable experience to take a shower and realise afterwards that every single pair of pants she had owned mysteriously  d i s a p p e a r e d .

She had initially placed the blame on Tony or Clint but FRIDAY had reminded her that they weren’t present at the moment so she decided fuck it and tossed on a sweater and abandoned pants completely, only to find Kate sat at the table and before she could question her, the archer gave her that tidbit of ‘wisdom’.
