     CHRISTOPHER DOLOHOV WAS A MANGLY TADPOLE. no, he wasn’t, but that’s what leona uttered under her breath as she scribbled furiously away onto the piece of parchment on her lap. ‘ who does he think he is, telling me     ’ she should have known better than to speak of the devil when he’s known to always be LURKING around corners. ‘ it’s on my to-do list. ’ maybe she would have thanked him, if he wasn’t such a pompous, gorgeous, arrogant TOAD. rolling her eyes, leona smacked the quill to the page, head tilted up to WATCH him in disbelief. ‘ why does everything have to be about that? don’t you have ANY decency? ’

     SHE ALREADY KNEW THE ANSWER TO THAT QUESTION. leona sighed, pulling the ends of her long flowery dress over her crossed ankles to fend off the COLD. ‘ i can’t imagine i have anything else to say that would be of INTEREST to you. ’ nothing that wouldn’t feed further on her PRUDE-ISH reputation, and certainly nothing she expected someone like HIM to understand anyway. she didn’t think even she knew all the answers to his many questions. leona shifted uncomfortably against the stone, twisting the parchment into a cylinder before tucking it into her bag. ‘ WHY are you so curious about my endeavours, christopher? ’ 

     DID HE NOT LIVE VICARIOUSLY ENOUGH ON HIS OWN? judging by all the stories she’d heard of him, she certainly thought so. even if she should know better than to trust rumours. her breath drew short as he inched closer, bringing with him the smell of PINE and SPICE. she wondered if         no, no, she didn’t wonder. ‘ i taste pleasure in books and magic, and APPLES. and i don’t usually need to be blindfolded to enjoy them. ’ she had to stand to evade his proximity, moving backwards as she relished in the NEW air in her lungs that didn’t smell of him. ‘ i don’t have a reason. i just don’t feel. . . anything like that. ’

                                        she’d WONDERED if there was something WRONG with her.                                                   ‘ there is NOTHING wrong with NOT experiencing THAT. ’

     HOURS. SHE HAD SPENT HOURS TRYING TO FIGURE IT OUT. how were they even so sure there was anything to figure out? but she couldn’t ponder on that, not when it was nina who needed her help, THEIR help. when all had seemed lost, and her fingers had resorted to massaging her temples in a desperate attempt to force her WANDERING thoughts to FOCUS on the task at hand, leona had decided it was time to reach out to the ONE person she trusted enough to be able to HELP her: JACK MCLAGGEN. but now that he was actually here, she wondered WHY she ever thought it was a good idea to ask him for help.

     ‘ NO, WE’VE BEEN THROUGH THAT ALREADY. IT WON’T WORK. ’ she’d tried every charm in the book, and was one failed attempt away from trying to CURSE the damn thing when she buried her wand into her pocket and SIGHED. . . AGGRESSIVELY. ‘ there has to be some way we can get this to SHOW us something. ’ did it OPEN? did it CHANGE shape? did it TALK? did it do anything else other than FLICKER an obnoxious GREEN like it was taunting her? she could almost swear she could hear its SNICKERING. it was that, or maybe she was finally going INSANE after the months of HEARTBREAK she had suffered until this point.

     ‘ WE MAY HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING SHORT OF PLAYING IT. ’ her headache throbbed behind her eyes, despite the force of her fingers against her temples. if this wasn’t imperial for nina’s rescue, she might have suggested a BREAK. then again, leona had a feeling it wasn’t just the seriousness of the situation that made her stomach rumble with NAUSEA. with a sigh, she rested her cheek against her palm and gazed up at the warm azure of jack’s eyes. ‘ -tell me something               anything. something that doesn’t constantly remind me that the wizarding world is in SHAMBLES. ’ -that didn’t remind her of her own MESS and. . . DECISIONS.

                                        ‘ how is NATALIE? are the both of you still together? ’                                                   they were SWEET. she could use some SWEETNESS.

I think I’m up for not trying to play a literary heroine. I think I’d rather just do someone that has just been created in a script, rather than in a book that everyone knows and loves. The difficulty with it and the reason these characters are so loved is that every woman and man that reads it understands it in a different way. They’re so relatable, but different aspects will be drawn from different people
