you are not a machine. you are more like a garden. you need different things on different days. a little sun today, a little less water tomorrow. you have fallow and fruitful seasons. it is not a design flaw. it is wiser than perpetual sameness. what does your garden need today?

Dandelion Wine Recipe & Spiritual Uses

Dandelions are lovely yellow flowers with the magical ability to help develop psychic abilities and attract spirits. To enhance psychic power drink a cup of Dandelion Root tea every other day. Place a hot, steaming cup of Dandelion tea by the bed to help attract spirits who can communicate with you in your dreams.
Dandelions can be made into a lovely spring wine that can be enjoyed by guests or given as offerings to spirits on your altar. For this recipe you will need 1/4 cup warm water, 1 package dried yeast, a gallon of fresh water,
2 quarts Dandelion Blossoms, 13 Cloves Buds, 1 cup freshly squeezed Orange Juice, 1 tsp ground Ginger, 5 cups sugar and 2 chopped Orange Peels.
It's best to collect the Dandelion Flowers for this recipe shortly after they first open, gather them from wild open fields where they are unlikely to have been exposed to pesticides. Dissolve the yeast in the warm water and set it aside. Clean the Dandelion Blossoms with running water and place them in a cooking pot with the gallon of water and Orange Juice. Turn up to medium heat, once the liquid starts to simmer add the Ginger, Cloves, sugar and Orange Peels. Mix the ingredients together with a wooden spoon and let the mixture simmer for 45 minutes.
Turn off the heat and use a coffee filter to strain out the plant material. Let it cool down for 5 minutes and mix in the yeast while the liquid is still warm. Let the mixture stand overnight and then pour it into glass bottles. Allow the bottles to set in a dark place without the caps on for the next 3 weeks. When 3 weeks have passed screw on the caps and store them in the refrigerator or another cool place.
Dandelions are native to Eurasia, It is believed the flowers were first brought to America by the pilgrims. Every Spring these flowers cover lawns and meadows whether people want them to or not. The greens of Dandelions can be made into delicious salads. Medicinally Dandelion Roots have a strong diuretic effect. Dandelion is associated with the astrological sign of Sagittarius, the element of air and the planet Jupiter. (Image from Unsplash.com)

What, exactly, is a 'negative spirit'?
I ask this question because 'negative spirit' is a vague term and never gets more specific. I want to know if there is an answer beyond 'I was a Christian once and need now I don't have demons and Satan to blame I need someone to blame when my craft goes wrong or my deity says something I don't like'.
And I am sorry if that is harsh, but I cannot view it another way right now.
One 'type' of negative spirit I see people use a lot is 'trickster' spirits - spirits that pretend to be another or mess with your work or otherwise are disruptive. Why, exactly, are these 'negative' and should 'never be worked with'? Are spirits who play tricks or mess around evil? Is there truly no use for these types of spirits at all? They are just worthless and evil? Because they very mildly inconvenienced you?
It's very strange to me.
I am not someone who cleanses my space or banishes 'negativity' unless it's directly interfering with me like I do some work and suddenly feel a presence following me around, which feels bad and scary so I tell it to go away or ask it to remove itself or whatever.
This works 100% of the time with no arguments. "Leave or I'll banish you" and suddenly it's gone.
I would not call these spirits 'evil' or 'malevolent' or 'mean' or 'bad'. They made me feel bad in the specific way they took up my space, but that doesn't make the spirit itself bad.
So what gives?
What's up with this literal demonization of spirits who aren't entirely subservient to you the minute they enter your space? What's up with branding harmless pranks 'evil' and 'negative' when you can just tell them to literally fuck off and they will?

Jean is one of my favorite booktubers and she also happens to be a student of Classical Mythology so she has a bunch of videos recommending books about Ancient Greece!
This is a recent video she just uploaded that I thought some of you might be interested in especially if you wanted to get started with Ancient Greek Literature! 👍🏻
She also has a podcast that I actually haven’t listened to yet but I think I’m gonna check it out this week. But here’s the link in case any of you want to try it out!

I could recognize him by touch alone, by smell; I would know him blind, by the way his breaths came and his feet struck the earth. I would know him in death, at the end of the world.

seriously i wish people understood that queerbaiting has almost nothing to do with the actual content of a story. two men can gaze soulfully into each other’s eyes for 45 minutes straight and then at the end be like “oh yes my good pal friend no homo” and its still not anything more than homoerotic and kind of stupid writing.
queerbaiting is a marketing technique to get gay people to buy a ticket. it’s hemming and hawing whenever someone asks about subtext, giving long answers that don’t mean anything to sort of imply “maybe you just need to wait and find out. ;)” it’s interviews where the actors talk about how much they love that particular relationship, and they think they will ~surprise~ you with how it turns out. it’s every single trailer showing these two people almost kissing, even as the creators talk about how offended they are that anyone would think it’s gay. it’s disney’s 65th First Gay Character that they sort of imply might actually be a main character this time but is yet another nameless asshole. it’s evil, because it’s completely deliberately misrepresenting the actual media just to make a buck.
