short taylor swift playlists for each tig character - jameson

here's my jameson playlist :). i felt like writing some short explanations again so, if anyone's interested, they're right here (i was quite tired when i wrote these so they might be messy. also, i apologize for any spelling mistakes, it's really late for me).

#1: the smallest man who ever lived: if we ignore the fact that this song is about a man (and we pretend it's about emily), i think this song suits jameson after his break up with emily perfectly. i just know that deep down, this man is pissed at everything emily did to him. i also know he'd be really sad and mad at the fact that emily had always preferred grayson, but she still decided to mess with his feelings. some lyrics obviously don't fit him, but the concept of the song does (listen to it pls, it's a great song, especially the bridge)

#2: anti-hero: i think that everyone knows this song after how viral it went last year (or maybe not idk), but i've seen a lot of people talk about how this jamie's song, and i can't help but agree. the song focuses on taylor's negative self perception and what she views as her personal failures. the title is self-explanatory, he's not a hero but he's also not the villain of his own story. this is 100% jamie's song, so definitely listen to it.

#3: labyrinth: i see this song as jamie's experience falling in love with avery. the song is about being afraid to love again after having tough experiences with it but realizing that it might not so bad. some of the lyrics are about avoiding one's feelings and trying your best to not fall in love. you cannot tell me that isn't jamie.

#4: tolerate it: i think this song suits jameson in two ways. i see this as him talking about emily and tobias. jameson grew up being told he was ordinary, and that, compared to his brothers, he was nothing. he constantly tried to prove himself to tobias in the only way he could, taking risks, but nothing ever worked. this also applies to his relationship with emily bc she clearly had a preference for grayson. jameson was always going to be the side piece. no matter what he did for her, grayson would also surpass him (we see how this affected him in tfg when he tried to break things off with avery thinking she wanted grayson and not him)

#5: evermore (feat. bon iver): evermore is about someone with depression who thinks that their suffering and pain is never-ending, and, then, that person finds someone that helps them through it and makes them realize that things can better. this song, to me, is so averyjameson coded. after what happened with emily, jamie was clearly afraid of falling in love again. the whole situation impacted him negatively which caused him to drink his feelings away. avery made him realize that he could love and be loved in return. she saved him in a way.

#6: this is me trying: a lot of people say this is grayson's song, and, although i agree, i think this song also suits jamie. jamie grew up contasntly trying to impress his grandfather, trying to make him proud. he kept trying but nothing ever truly worked. the song also nods to alcoholism which we all know is something jamie struggled with.

#7: august: a song part of the folklore love triangle that i think describes his role in the emily-grayson-jameson fiasco. i've said this before, but jamie was never emily's favorite. she liked him enough to keep him around, but at the end of the day, he was always going to come second to grayson.

#8: afterglow: i think this suits jamie's thoughts at the beginning of his relationship with avery. the song is about someone self-sabotaging their relationship with someone and asking for forgiveness and reassurance afterwards; reassurance that they loved them and wouldn't leave. in tfg, jamie tried to end his relationship with avery thinking she'd rather be with grayson (self-sabotaging), and we all know he subconsciously fears being left behind by his loved ones once they realize he's 'nothing special' (that's why he ruined things with avery. he didn't want to be left, so he left her)

#9: daylight: i think this is a really sweet, cute love song that suits avery and jameson. this song talks about how someone's perception of love changed after getting together with who they deem the love of their life ('i once believed love would be burning red, but it's golden). i think jamie's idea of love changed once he got together with avery after everything that happened with emily, thus why i added this song to the playlist.

#10: king of my heart: the title is self-explanatory. avery isn't the king of his heart, though, she's the queen (we all know this guy is completely obsessed with her)

#11: clean: i think this song can be viewed from two different lenses. 1. him finaly getting rid of/over emily or 2. his experience with alcoholism and his mental health. the song is technically about getting over an ex, but can also be related to by people who struggle with their mental health.

#12: nothing new (feat. phoebe bridgers): i added this to my avery playlist, but i think this song suits jamie's inner thoughts. it's about fearing what the future holds for you, and being cast aside once people get tired of you. we know this boy thinks he's ordinary and is nothing compared to his brothers so it wouldn't be far fetched to think that he believes he can easily be forgotten.

#13: electric touch (feat. fall out boy): a song describing the beginning of a relationship between two people who fear love and have had bad experiences with it in the past. it features two different point of views (from the two lovers), but i think both perspectives suit jamie. the people in the song are simultaneously afraid of love, but also hopeful of what it could bring them which, to me, screams jamie.

#14: i can see you: very sultry, sexy song that i think suits averyjameson perfectly. i won't dive into it too deeply, but definitely listen to the song (especially to the lyrics), it's great.

#15: you're not sorry: i think this song suits jamie after his break up with emily. we both know emily would try to get him back (if she didn't die) bc she loves playing with people's feelings, but, after everything she did to him and his brother, i think he was finally done with her bullshit after their break up. i think the title is self-explanatory.

A head cannon if Grayson died and how everyone would react.

of course<3. i won't format it the same was as my other hcs posts though cause i feel like it wouldn't make as much sense. hope you like them <3.

avery: avery would definitely try to act tough around everyone else. she'd try to be there for the three brothers and would suppress her feelings. she would definitely visit his grave every single day to talk to him/visit him. she thinks the afterlife would be boring so she makes sure to make time for him every day. things around the house would remind her of him (like almost everything). she would see a blanket or smth and think 'hey, this is the blanket that we used that one night when we watched pride and prejudice'. she would try her best not to cry bc she knows grayson would tell her he wasn't worth her tears, but she would not be able to stop her tears when they came.

xander: xander would deal with his death by spending every day and night in his lab trying to distract himself. whenever he'd see something he knew grayson would like when he'd be out shopping, he'd buy it even though he knew gray would never receive it. he would pretend he's fine and would crack his usual jokes but no one found them funny bc every one was hurting. at the same time, he'd try to cheer every one up (including himself) by remembering the good times and funny things grayson did. he would make gadgets and stuff and dedicate them to grayson. at the end of the day, he would lie in bed and talk to him. also, instead of leaving flowers at his grave, he'd leave small inventions or little letters.

jameson: he would drown himself in alcohol. enough to land himself in the hopsital multiple times on the verge of death. nash and xander would come in screaming at him telling him they couldn't lose another brother. jamie would also visit his grave everyday to talk to him about his worries or just to ask him how he's doing in the afterlife (knowing he obviously wouldn't get a response). he'd gradually start doing less risky things knowing grayson wouldn't approve and knowing his brothers wouldn't be able to handle it if he died too (avery too obviously). he'd also be the type of person who just wouldn't be able to get out of bed. he'd just lay there and rot wondering why gray had to die (he thinks if anyone should've died, it should've been himself)

nash: he would try to act tough around everyone else thinking it was his responsibility to keep the family going. at the same time, he'd also be the one to handle his grief the most healthily. he'd reassure everyone that feeling sad and mad was a normal response to grief, and that, burying your feelings would only make things worse. he brings flowers to grayson's grave at least once a week. he'd be the type of person who would not be able to just sit still and process his grief though. he'd have to get up and go work/save some 'lost souls' to feel better. he'd have to reassure himself that, wherever gray was, he was fine and he'd see him again someday.

libby (including her bc she's my baby): libby would be the one actually holding everyone together. she'd be everyone's therapist whilst still grieving herself. she'd head to everyone's room every day and ask them how they were doing/if they needed anything. she would also be baking non-stop. she would bake and bake until they didn't have the ingredients she needed to bake anymore. she would leave some of the cupcakes at gray's grave. she'd constantly remember the heartfelt conversations they'd had and they laughs they shared.

Can we just talk about how amazing big sister Libby Grambs is??

She is so caring and loving twoards everyone, especially for her little sister Avery. She stood up and took her in when ave's mother passed away, she didn't have to but she did and not to mention she was only 23.

The way she was always so "pure-hearted" for her makes me tear up, in THL she mentioned she used to sneak in Ave's bedroom and sleep in her bed...how adorable is that?😭😭

Libby didn't care for the money but for Avery and her future. She did so many things for her, she was ready to gave up her "goth life" change into totally different person so that Ave's reputation wouldn't get "ruined". She was always worried about her. And her birthdays😭 omg avery mentioned that she'd always bake her favourite type of cupcake. She always refused to take Avery's money..

They have such a cute sister bond and i wish i had a big sister like her🙏🏻

although i support averygrayson shippers, i will never understand. in my opinion (and i might be wrong), i think averygrayson shippers are projecting when they say grayson is the better option. i mean, if we look at avery and her needs, jameson is clearly the better fit. she's lived in the same small town her entire life. having now inherited billions, she wants to take risks and explore the world. grayson doesn't want those things. he wants stability. they wouldn't work out and their personalities would clash. jamie on the other hand would give avery what she wants and needs. grayson wouldn't be able to make avery happy in the long run. just bc grayson is your favorite and would be your prefered love interest doesn't mean he's the best love interest for avery. just my opinion though, you can ship whoever you want (i would explain this in better words if i wasn’t tired but eh).

YES. i refuse to believe she’s just plain and normal when she’s just as smart as the hawthornes and they’re seen as extraordinary.

i have this theory that, even though Avery’s “nothing special girl” thing is a little true, i think that most of it is from her own insecurities. Like shes this incredible person that shuts herself down at social things bc she believes that shes invisible. Like i imagine her as someone who constantly shocks people who are meeting her bc she barely shows herself normally but once you rl met her and she gets confident with you, you’re shocked bc she has this whole arsenal of amazing and extraordinary things that she doesn’t show.

of course<3. may be shorter than my other sad hcs cause i'm currently sick. i might make some more when i feel better. small, small trigger warning for suicidal thoughts, self harm, and tobias hawthorne. hope you enjoy!

he's obviously extremely protective of his brothers. so much that, when skye or tobias got mad at one of them, nash would convince them it was his fault so they wouldn't hurt his brothers' feelings

this is less of a head canon cause he mentioned this in tbh, but nash is convinced that everyone will someday leave him, and that he'll end up alone.

although tobias and skye hurt him a lot (verbally, they didn't hit him obviously), he had to pretend he was fine all of the time for his brothers. they thought he was a disappointment because he didn't act like a 'real' hawthorne. he didn't tell anyone.

the pressure he puts on himself sometimes becomes too much. so much that he's considered ending his life by jumping off of a bridge/overdosing on smth.

high school was extremely tough for him but no one knew. he felt like he had the world on his shoulders and couldn't speak to anyone about it. his grades would start going down (mind you, they were still great), and tobias would get mad at him. he'd try extra hard to succeed, and he did, but at the cost of his mental health

the reason why he has a savior complex is bc he wishes he could've saved his brothers from everything that tobias did to them. it became even worse after emily. he thinks it was his responsibility to warn them and help them. he know thinks he has to save everyone to make up for it.

nash thinks of himself as a complete failure. so much that sometimes simply looking in the mirror makes him cry.

this one will sound corny but he saves everyone but himself (he doesn't think he deserves to feel better)

he puts everyone's needs in front of his own. he sometimes doesn't eat, sleep, etc just to help his family. (he ended up in the hospital once cause he passed out due to malnutrition)

when nash was younger, he wanted his father in his life so badly he would go beg tobias to tell him his name. he wanted someone who would be there for him bc no one else was.

he used to think there was smth wrong with him bc he wasn't like his other brothers. at the same time, he knew it was partly bc he knew how messed up his grandfather was, but he still wished he could be like the others/accepted.

tobias used to tell him that he was extremely disappointed in him all the time. tobias wanted him to take care of more than he could take. tobias didn't actually care if it took everything out of nash, he just didn't want to take care of everyone else himself.

tobias used to hear him cry at night but didn't do shit to help him. he thought that nash had to toughen up (he was like 13)

nash doesn't like letting other people do things for him bc it makes him hate himself even more. he feels bad when people take on what he thinks is his responsibility. at the same time, it makes him cry cause it makes him feel loved.

he gets mad at himself bc he thinks he's overreacting all the time. he tells himself other people have it worse and that he has no right to complain when he has such a good life.

in high school, he was actually in some pretty sketchy friend group. they took drugs and stuff and got him into it. nash never got addicted, but he now takes drugs when everything becomes too much for him.

in my jamie head canons, i said that he hits punching bags until his hands start bleeding (and even that doesn't stop him sometimes). i think the same goes for nash. he wouldn't self harm in a way that made it obvious to himself that he was harming himself. he'd do it in 'subtle' ways that he could convince himself weren't self harm.

his hands are really messed up for multiple reasons. the boxing and the fact that whenever something goes wrong, he bites his nails and the skin around them.

(idk if this one is even possible, but i'm on the verge of falling asleep and want to finish this) when he fails to save someone, he'll stuff his head in a pillow/in his cowboy hat to cut off oxygen. it kind of brings him back to the present when he starts spiraling.

he has really bad anxiety and actually takes pills to deal with it. all of his responsibilities and stuff weigh him down a lot.

he does so much for others that when he got together with libby and she started doing things for him, he'd actually cry. she'd make him breakfast and he'd tell her it was too much.

he used to have trichotillomania (mental health condition that involves irresistible urges to pull out hair from your scalp, eyebrows, or other areas of your body). over time he got better, but sometimes it comes back when his anxiety is really bad.

he used to make his mom drawings and gifts in hope of getting her attention (she never cared). he used to think it was because his drawings weren't good enough, so he'd try again and again until he realized he was the problem.

nash personally blames himself for all of the pain tobias caused people (like lyra and stuff). for some reason, he thinks he should've stopped him somehow even though that's impossible.

he used to come home really scraped up because he'd get into fights for his brothers whenever someone was mean to them or hurt them. he has some permanent scars on his body bc of the fights, but he still thinks he should've done more.

whenever nash does something he deems 'wrong' he hears tobias' voice in his head telling him he's a failure.

a happy nash head canon to finish this off:

nash, as a kid, loved ducks. he would head to ponds to feed them, and he owned like 294810 books on ducks. he had tiny duck figurines in his bedroom (and still does). he used to make short videos about them and his little trips to the pond with his camera.

i think the only reason avery actually stays friends with thea is because she desperately wants people to like her. she doesn't really care that thea hurt her as long as she has a friend. i think, in some sick twisted way, she thinks she deserves it bc she was sort of a shitty friend to max for a little while. she's a better friend now obviously, and she learned from her mistakes, but i guess she still hates herself for it. i desperately want her and savannah or gigi to become really good friends because of this. i want her to see that thea is a crappy person and she shouldn't have to put up with her bullshit when there are people like gigi and savannah who i know would be better friends.

also, i don't understand how thea just expected avery to forgive her instantly after getting her kidnapped??? like ma'am, the world does not revolve around you. thea is just so full of herself. i can't stand her. i'll probably make a longer post about this bc i have sm more to say.

she'd be one of the people in charge of finding him. she'd be running around looking for clues. she'd think a missing toothbrush was a clue bc she'd be so desperate.

she'd try to keep xander sane because he'd be freaking out in the corner. she'd be patting his head telling him his brother wasn't being forced into selling his suits (his pride and joy) (yes, xander thinks this would happen)

she'd be so anxious she's start biting her nails until they bleed. at the end of the day, she'd end up with bandages around her hands bc of it.

she'd be really impatient with everybody. if they didn't work fast enough for her taste, she's start screaming at them to go faster.

jameson

he'd be sad but find it hilarious at the same time bc big old grayson who never makes mistakes got kidnapped

he'd think of it as a game to distract himself from the fact that his brother might be dead in a ditch.

he'd secretly be crying with xander in the corner (he wouldn't let anyone know though)

when they find the guy who kidnapped grayson, he gives him a good beating before they take him to jail. he beats him up so bad, he almost ends up have to pay a fine.

like i said, he'd be crying in the corner thinking of the worst case scenario. he'd be imagining grayson being hung by his balls and would start crying even more.

he'd start saying the craziest shit. the others would try to find clues as to where he is, and xander would just be like what if they're shaving his beautiful hair off to create a rug.

he'd be organizing his funeral before even finding grayson. he'd be crying asking everyone what flowers they think grayson would like best at his funeral.

when they finally find grayson, he'd act like he didn't go through the 5 stages of grief. he'd pretend to be the one who was least affected by all of it.

nash

he'd be the first one in the car heading off to look for him. he wouldn't give a damn about clues.

he'd have to lock himself in a room to have a mini panic attack cause he doesn't want to let anyone see

he'd be taking care of everyone. xander would be hyperventilating in the corner and he'd go sit next to him telling him to breathe with him. gigi would end up fainting and he'd end up splashing water on her etc.

when they finally find grayson, he'd wrestle his ass cause we know damn well grayson got himself kidnapped in someone else's pace.

alisa

she'd be the one who's most sane. she would tell everyone to calm down and look at the situation from another angle or smth like that

she'd be the one doing all the important calls and sending the emails.

at the same time, she'd be really worried so she's be rushing the police and investigators to go quicker.

she'd also be making sure everyone ate and drank water to make sure no one ended up fainting or smth (gigi still ended up fainting though)

she'd bake cupcakes for everyone to cheer them up.

she'd be holding avery or nash in her arms trying to get them to calm down (nash might not seem like he's freaking out, but he is)

alisa would be so rough with the police officers and investigators that libby would rush in apologizing for alisa's behavior.

she's trying to comfort xander but is failing miserably at it because he's wailing like a 2 year old.

she'd be having a midlife crisis wondering how the hell they even got into this situation

she'd actually swear (not her fake swear words) and people would all turn around to look at her simultaneously as if she'd just announced she was pregnant with the rock's baby

gigi

like i said, she would most definitely faint. she's get so nervous, she'd start having a panic attack, and then she'd faint.

she'd basically be like xander. she'd come up with the worse case scenarios in her head, but those worst case scenarios actually ended up being quite funny (like grayson being forced to walk around looking like elmo)

she'd be relying on coffee to keep her alive. by the end of the day, she'd have had like 20 cups of coffee.

when they finally found grayson, she'd punish him by buying him a box full of cats.

savannah

she'd pretend like the whole situation wasn't affecting her but it was.

she'd be panicking, cursing grayson out because gigi passed out (she won't admit it but she felt bad cursing him out bc she loves him)

she'd be looking at the others thinking about how crazy they are. she'd be texting her mom exasperated asking her how she even got into this situation

when they finally find grayson, she smacks his head and then gives him a very quick mini kiss on the cheek bc she's relieved to see him

i'll make playlists for other characters too cause i found this really fun. here are some songs that really remind me of avery (there are others so i might add some later). some are her and jamie songs and some are just her. i felt like doing some short explanations (that might not make sense bc it's midnight for me) so here they are :)

#1: who's afraid of little old me? when i first heard this song, i immediately thought of her. it would take ages for me to explain it all (which i will do in another post), but, in the song, taylor mocks her haters, and tells them that she is what the world (her old record label, haters) made her and that, because of this, they shouldn't be scared of 'little old her'. people tend to downsize her and her struggles, and this song addresses that. this all just screamed avery to me. the media was so horrible to avery when she first inherited the money and underestimated her. the media judges her for being what they want her to be (if that makes sense. if avery were different, haters would still hate her)

#2: the smallest man who ever lived: now this song is about an ex partner, but if we remove all of the more romantic aspects of this song (so if we take the song's concept), i can't help but think of avery and her father/tobias/sheffield grayson. her father was never there for her and treated her like crap. tobias put her in a position where she was most likely going to die and used her. sheffield did horrible things to her too. i imagine this song being her confronting them (sort of).

#3: i hate it here for this song, there isn't necessarily something that screams avery to me, but it is a song about escapism which i feel is something avery did a lot growing up the way she did to get away from her problems, and the struggles that came with poverty. i think her method of escapism was games.

#4: you're on your own, kid: avery, before inheriting the money and meeting the brothers, had always been alone. her only friend was older than her and moved away, her sister wasn't very present in her life, and her mom died when she was 15. i think the rest is self-explanatory.

#5: long story short: this song fits her a bit more loosely, but the concept really resonates with avery (i think). it's a song about how, despite taylor being villainized and hated on by the media (during the kanye situation), she was still able to survive and get through it. with the amount of judgement and hate avery got after she inherited the money, i think this song suits her.

#6: the last great american dynasty: this song is about a woman who inherits her late husband's holiday house and the judgment she received because of it. people accused her of murder, of being mad, etc. this is literally avery's song bc people also accused her of shady things.

#7: the man: i think this is sort of self-explanatory. the song is about sexism and how she would be treated differently if she was a man.

#8: dress: an averyjameson song because why not. very sensual, sultry, and just very averyjameson. i always think of them when i listen to the song.

#9: call it what you want: very cute love song that i think suits aj perfectly. it's about not caring what the media has to say about your relationship bc all that matters is that the two of you know the truth.

#10: wonderland: lyrics scream averyjameson. this song suits them almost perfectly. i will be making a full analysis of this song to them someday. i really don't know how to explain this without writing a 347204 page essay so just listen to the song (let's just ignore that this song is about a toxic relationship though...)

#11: i knew you were trouble: avery when she first met jameson. one of taylor's most popular songs. i think this is self-explanatory.

#12: the lucky one: a song about the negative impact the media can have on someone. it's about this girl who had it all, but over time, got tired of the hate and escaped to a life of solitude. i think this somewhat applies to avery. although i don't think she'd disappear, i do think she'd someday start laying low.

#13: nothing new (ft: phoebe bridgers): i can never listen to this song without thinking about avery. it's a song about fearing the future and what will become of you. someday, you'll become old news and people will cast you aside. i think this fits (future or even present) avery. we know she has some self-worth issues, so i don't think it would be far fetched to say that she might think of herself as some sort of toy that will someday be forgotten by not only the media (although i don't think she'd mind), but also by jameson, and his brothers.

#14: sparks fly: full analysis here. i already made a longer analysis, but it's basically a song about falling for someone you know might be dangerous but not being able to stay away. to me this is the aj song.

#15: never grow up: i think the title is self-explanatory. i feel like avery would look back at her younger self wishing she'd never grown up because then she'd still have her mom. kind of a sad way to end this playlist, but i just went in order of album releases and tracklist numbers so..

of course, i'd love to. jamie is the best brother, and that is not up for discussion. might suck cause i'm currently dying (not fr). i also might make a part two cause i wrote these at like 2am and feel like i have some better ideas. hope you like them<3

his favorite kind of alcohol is whiskey (idk why is just feel it)

he's ambidextrous

loves chase atlantic and the weekend but is also a sucker for love songs, laufey, and taylor swift

actually has a really nice voice. he'll sometimes sing in the shower and avery thinks its adorable (she also has a great voice so sometimes they sing together)

he has nightmares about the day avery got bombed and almost died.

he literally only drinks black coffee with the tiniest amount of milk in it.

he's secretly a huge anime fan, especially more romantic animes.

he had an obsession with octopuses when he was younger (i have no idea why). he used to get tobias to take him out to places where the could see them

played roblox for the longest time possible (he loved bullying kids and playing really difficult obbies (he would not stop until he finished them))

he takes hours getting ready in the morning bc he has a 1094 step hair care routine.

when he gets anxious (very rare) he plays with the hem of his shirt.

he's a very good electric guitar player (i imagine him doing those videos you see on tiktok where the guy is playing and you can only see his hands (people are thirsting over it in the comments))

posts thirst traps on tiktok and tags avery in every single one of them so she can see (at this point this is canon)

when he becomes older, people see him as a dilf.

seems like the kind of guy who would like rough s*x and, although he does like it, he prefers it when its romantic

gets extremely scared that avery will someday realize she deserves better than him and will leave him (he thinks its true but its not). he'll wake up from nightmares where he loses her crying silently, and he'll start cuddling up with her.

he has impeccable taste in clothing but no one really knows cause he never makes an effort

he only cries at night in the comfort of his room in his pillow

really depressing, but he's tried to kill himself multiple times but tobias always stopped him (but did nothing to help him)

he absolutely loves stargazing. all of his worries melt away whenever he's stargazing.

for halloween one year, he dressed up as a condom...
