lovely and attentive xavier, who, when wrapping your gift with the biggest amount of delicacy with his fingers, feels his heart flutter at the thought of you smiling at his gift.

lovely and attentive xavier, who, when finally giving you your birthday gift, realizes how your eyes light up as you undo the pink ribbon hugging the lilac box and is unable to contain a giddy grin from you.

"you baked this?" you ask, shocked with the petite gift in your hands. "yeah... actually I only managed to make one I was satisfied with today." xavier rubs the back of his neck, remembering all of his failed attempts that turned into a weird mass of black flour, he thought about eating the failed tries but... that was just undoable.

"this is perfect, xavier. it's so kind of you..." you look back at him and sigh thankful to the man standing in front of you, he smiles back, his eyes slightly closing as his lids accompany his smile. you get on your tiptoes and kiss his left cheek, as you linger your lips over his skin you can feel him getting hotter, he blinks rapidly as if still loading what had just happened.

"you're the best birthday gift i could've ever asked, xavier." you declare slowly returning to your previous position, however, xavier places his hands on both sides of your waist and pulls you closer, kissing your cheek in return.

"happy birthday, y/n. i hope your future is filled with everything you like. and I also hope that... i can be there for all birthdays to come. thank you for being the melody that plays constantly on my wind chime." xavier confesses, whispering close to your ear, lips brushing occasionally against your helix.

once his declaration is over, he hugs you gently and holds you in his arms, allowing you to feel his usually calm heartbeat banging against his ribcage.

this might have or might not have been inspired by birthday since it was a week ago teehee. this is just a silly drabble because I found his gift and dedication adorable... i love xavier so much...

rafayel teaching you how to swim would definetly be... something? definetly would not be all colorful and dandy, however, it would be far from punishing! i guess that's mostly how things go when you're with rafayel after all but swimming has a twist.

first of all, rafayel would be in utter shock that you did not know how to swim, he would seriously think you were joking or pranking him. not because he doesn't know that people can just not know how to swim, but someone as close to him as you are? a hunter? not swimming? what? it would turn more intoconfusion then astonishment for raf.

that confusion would later turn into a sense of necessity to make you learn it somehow. "it's okay, raf. not that big of a deal." "yeah yeah, keep telling yourself that."

well done! now you got literally dragged to the nearest body of water big enough to fit the both of you. at first it was confusing. telling rafayel to teach someone how to swim was pretty much the same telling you to teach someone how to breathe; you don't know how you did it, you don't know how you're still doing it, but you are and god, you're really good at it! so it took time for rafayel to get the hang of teaching you swim; if it were something different like painting then, yeah, it would've been pretty easier, because there's technique behind it, there are different types of strokes you can do, etc., etc., however! again, swimming was so, you know, always there for him? so in the beginning it would just be like:

"RAFAYEL HOW ARE YOU DOING THAT?"

"I DON'T KNOW, HOW DO YOU NOT KNOW HOW TO DO IT."

"I DON'T KNOW, HOW DO YOU NOT KNOW HOW YOU ARE DOING IT?????"

but alas, rafayel would (eventually) be successful. you both just needed some time, and you are in safe hands, after all!

one of the first things you learn in med school during a first aid course is that in an emergency if the situation puts your safety and well-being at risk, then you should not proceed with the emergency care, because your safety is the priority and that's well established as you take the course. zayne, however, could not give a single care in the world about this so-important principle because he would and will always put you first. zayne will sacrifice his own heart for yours without a second thought. to zayne, you are the priority and will always be, so the idea of renouncing his well-being to yours is automatic, almost like a reflex.
