She knows the words are said from a place of concern, but to her ears, they are reprimands. While she hadn’t much of a choice in the matter of her defense against the most recent attempt on the emperor’s life just hours ago, guilt still riddles her over it.

With ears pressed flat, her head bows slightly. “My apologies, sire. I shall do my best to avoid inconveniencing you again,” she responds softly.
