For the past few years, a government teacher at Smithfield High School, Virginia has been working on a special project to help support and aid victims of human trafficking with his students. 

The teacher, Mr. Matt Ployd, and his students hope to make a major change. Ployd’s previous classes created Monica’s Law, a bill that proposes new policies to provide aid for human trafficking victims and their families. 

His current students are working on getting this bill to Congress. They have the support of many politicians, governors, big news sources, and community members! Monica’s Law has been posted on the We the People website. 

If it gets 100,000 signatures in thirty days, it will be put on a special queue to be viewed by the White House.
