◤ kagawa-san ! ◢
The sensation of warm air on her earlobe sent the girl flying back a few steps, her hands up, spread in a defensive position. He had penetrated the hypothetical wall she called her personal space, further enforcing the judgement she had made about his pushiness.
Almost ferociously she yanked the schedule of overstated importance from his hands, pressing the thin folder of documents to her chest.
❝M-my apologies!❞ She sputtered, her skin tinted with a frustrated scarlet. ❝It will not happen again!❞
“You best be telling me
the truth, Kagawa-san,
or I’ll have something
to hold against you. I
don’t think you’d want
something like that to
happen—do you?”
Briefly, their eyes connected, and Kan made it so she wouldn’t be able to pull them away so easily. A foreboding stare was all it took… Well, right up until he could no longer pull off the ominous façade and cracked a grin.
“Kidding, kidding! You
must think I’m somethin’
awful. I’m not. If you need
something, I’ll be up front!
See you later, Kagawa-san!”

-— { ϟ } - Damn it all. Why did she have to get so flustered, even over the little things? Well, technically he was right up in her face - poking into her personal bubble. Sure, maybe she happened to be a little old-fashioned. But that was beside the point. She’d been simply minding her own business before this stranger popped out of nowhere and reached for the goggles in her hair.
“… Thanks, I guess. And not to sound rude, but do you make a habit of asking strangers for favors? I wouldn’t want anyone to break my goggles, anyways.”
What could once be considered a smile for days turned into something more solemn; a frown, for that matter. Here he was having a good old time, and this lady just had to go and ruin it for him! What was so bad about messing around? Everyone needed a little pinch of sunshine in their life.
“Hey, hey—no need
to be so salty! I just
wanted to wear ‘em
for a little bit…”
In one motion, the two of his hands were thrusted towards his ‘companion.’ Kan had a little convincing to do.
“You can even feel
my hands if you want.
Super gentle, super
soft! Soft as a baby’s
butt, I’d say. No way
would I be able to
break those goggles!”

Hey guys, what's up? Sorry I've been absent for so long! This year is rather difficult for me and my education is priority. For now, though, I am ready to crack down on replies. And welcome new followers!

◤ kagawa-san ! ◢
An abrupt nod was offered in return for his understanding, and only tentatively did she reveal her title— and even then it was cautious.
❝Just call me Kagawa-san.❞ She wouldn’t tell her given name. It was seldom she allowed anyone to address her that way; the undertones of familiarity could transition into something much more dangerous.
With a polite yet undeniably stiff bow, the girl turned, proceeding down the hall to… any direction really. She just needed to escape the bouncy receptionist and his prying questions.
“Kagawa-san, huh…?”
Lost to his thoughts, Kan nearly didn’t catch sight of the new employee’s leaving – she hadn’t even picked up her schedule! If her reading sessions interfered with all the other activities ( dancing, karaoke, just to name a couple ) what would become of him? As the Koshida receptionist, it was his job to maintain order – Papa would be made proud…!
Kan gathered her papers. He then hopped so furiously up and out of his chair, it spun wildly, threatening to hit the wall. This was the least of his concerns. What mattered was that Kagawa-san received her plans.
With a valiant effort he was able to dodge various nursing home occupants. Step, step, step, right up until he’d ran into the girl.
“Here are your plans,
Kagawa-san! You
didn’t stay long
enough for me to give
them to you. You’re a
good girl, I can tell,
but you’ve got to be
more patient—“
Kan leaned in close.
“—Especially in a
place like this.”
His breath tickled her ear.

Kan was human. On some occasions, he was stricken with inexplicable angst or anger or grief, but one trait that would remain forever persistent was his sense of kindness. Given his occupation, being compassionate was obligatory.
—And what exactly was he to do when seeing a fellow Konohagakure citizen drop their wallet? Leave it there, to collect dust? Steal it? No – he would swoop in, take it into his arms, and jog right up to where its owner stood.
“Excuse me! I believe you
have dropped this—“
A gesture towards the wallet.
“—And it is my duty to
return it to you! I can’t
imagine what it would
be like to have lost it…”

“Cool goggles! Mind
if I wear them?”
It was characteristic of the boy to first take in the full perspective of newcomers, especially things such as the way they carried themselves, their appearance, their attire – and how could he have missed those goggles, nestled amongst her lovely blonde drapes? They looked most peculiar, but not unbecomingly so.
“I really, really like
‘em!”

Analyzation in progress.
She looked to be a little rougher around the edges than the other girls in Konoha. Dirtier, bolder, with a fiery passion somewhere deep down. The presence she offered was so inviting that Kan could not help but prompt an awakening. He wanted to, dare it be said – set her ablaze.
“Welcome to Koshida’s
Old Folk’s Home. I’m the
receptionist, Kan.”
To closen their proximity, he leaned forward, but perhaps only by a smidgen.
“You must be one of our
new additions! Welcome
to the family. Let me
show you to your room
so you can get settled in,
Miss – bingo starts in
thirty minutes. You’ll love
it!”
