I'm a bit confused from the explanation on the original post, if we want to remix other people's works but don't have enough/don't want our own works remixed, we don't have to sign up? As in, we can just do them without asking since the point of Remix is to give permission?

I'm so glad this is still a thing!! I've seen lots of remixed fics from past years and thought it looked like so much fun :D

More detailed information to come but there are 2 parts to Remix - the gift exchange and prompt meme. In Madness (the prompt meme portion), it's basically a free for all and you ONLY sign up if you have works you want to offer to others to remix (this essentially is giving wide permission for anyone to remix your work). If you JUST want to remix somebody else's work you don't need to sign up at all; you just post your story under their prompt (and don't have to ask for permission, as they already gave it by signing up). Main remix (the gift exchange) has eligibility rules etc. that aren't a part of Madness. I'll be sharing more once I lock down the dates! Hope this helps!

There's currently only one fic posted in the Madness collection, and I'm not sure if it's a summer vacation thing or lack of interest which is the reason for this poll - does anyone want me to extend Madness by a week? A Note re: post-dating your fic/art: As a general reminder, it is perfectly acceptable and even encouraged for you to post-date your fic/art in both the madness collection and the main collection. Post-dating means that you edit your work to give it today’s date instead of the earlier date it was posted. This allows more people to see your work during the anon period, versus few people outside of the exchange seeing it if it’s buried further back in the tag. All we ask is that you limit post-dating to once during the anon period and once afterward after reveals, so that you are not constantly leapfrogging over the other participants…so if you have not already post-dated, that is an option that is available to you. :)
