The irony of this new breed of self-righteous AI hunters on AO3 is that they're all just copy and pasting peoples fics into AI detectors, which are all operated by AI and therefore THEY are feeding people's work into the algorithm without their consent and in some cases no doubt circumventing the locks people put on to avoid getting scraped...

I love having friends who reject diet culture. I love going out when everyone buys food and drinks that they enjoy. I love people who will pipe up and suggest we stop for a snack or grab a meal. I love ordering what I want and no one making comments other than how good it looks (and maybe asking to steal a bite off my plate). I love revelling in how full we are after a good meal and taking a break to appreciate how fortunate we are. I love sharing snack from our bags with one another. I love enjoying the pleasure of food and drinks and good company.

everyone is sick of reading everyone else's list of personal problems at the top of their blogs, we've been over all the reasons why this is a bad idea both interpersonally and as an online safety thing, however i think it should also be mentioned that just showing me the big list of what's wrong with you first thing when i click on your blog counts as spoilers and ruins the narrative tension. i clicked on your blog to find out over time, through a series of mysterious flashbacks and delightful subtextual nods, what's wrong with you. youre taking all the fun out of it

Can I scream about how I re-read ANOTHER classic literature book I absolutely adore, and how this one has impacted my perception of stories that take place in a "small town," and how awesome that theme can be?

I only read To Kill a Mockingbird because I am so invested in Ace Attorney that I wanted more lawyer dramas, but WOW, I did not sign up for mysterious small town vibes from the perspective of a child as she witnesses how messed up the Southern United States and racism can be. I DID NOT sign up to love the Finch family so much. I DID NOT sign up to be nostalgic about the 30s and 50s. I DID NOT sign up for all the suspense. I DID NOT sign up for some of the lines to hit so hard. I DID NOT sign up for Atticus's speech in the courthouse.

And somehow, I forgot everything I signed up for the first time I read it.

How can I forget such a cult classic?
