          “I do not think it is wise to be outside in the cold if you are feeling tired...It is unsafe.” he hums, regarding the frost accumulating on his own body, and shaking it off. “Many of the animals are getting ready to hibernate. Soon, the forest will be much more quiet.” The spirit thinks for a moment, before standing. “Follow me, please.”

          “You are much too tall. Humans used to be much shorter.” M’Zora huffed, twitching his ears when Deak pats his head. “I can change my shape, but not my natural size. Becoming a bear would be too easy.”

    “ my clan – ”  deak starts, dull green eye focusing on the clearing in front of him,  “ – we record them. i’ve recorded forty-eight wars and none of them make any damn sense. war is caused by stupid shit. just remember that. ”  the count was now forty-nine wars, but this war was… it was lavi’s first.  “ humans are stupid. ”

          “I understand that as well as anyone. Seven thousand years, even living in a forest, provides me with much observance of humans and their...habits.” he grunts, shifting into a rabbit and laying on the log they were both sitting on. “The tribe I was raised by was primitive, yes, but not foolish enough to slaughter their own kind.”

    “ it’s human nature. they fight and they kill and then they fight some more. it’s disgraceful. ”  he shrugs, humming.

          “I must agree with you, there. It is disgraceful.” The tribe that had raised him after his mother doe died never participated in wars with other humans. He didn’t remember ever seeing another human from outside the tribe in the first place.

          “I still don’t understand why, though...Humans have no real reason to go to war with each other.”

          M’Zora watches the human, studying him carefully. He recognizes the body language, and immediately shifts into a white rabbit. Green meets green as the spirit continues watching him, laying down on the ground to show he means no harm.

    he simply points hellbringer at them, breathing shaking much like his hands. the usual look in his eye is gone, replaced by an almost scared tint. then he’s breathless, green eye widening. he growls almost like a cornered animal.

    “ stay away. ”

    oh. wonderful. it’s this shithead again. deak quirks a brow, lowering his weapon.  “ does every forest belong to you or something? ”  scoffing, he turns away.  “ fine. i’ll fucking leave. just leave me alone. i don’t need your threatening bullshit about how humans aren’t allowed in your god damn forests. excuse me for ‘trespassing’, your majesty. ”

          “Spirits have no concept of your strange ‘royalty’ rituals.” M’Zora remarks, padding closer. He soon lays down by the stump the human had been attacking earlier, and shifts back to his normal form, though his hair and fur are now white, and he’s missing his antlers. He sets a paw down on the stump, before dragging his claws upward, pulling a small, glowing white figure. The figure was formless for a short period, before it shaped itself into a songbird that twittered up at M’Zora.

    when he sees the deer, he panics for a moment. the first thought that comes to his mind is that it’s an akuma. that thought erases itself and is replaced with the thought that this is that shape-shifting noah – lulubell. deak tenses just a bit and takes a step back, hellbringer’s blade shining faintly in the moonlight.

    “ keep your distance. ”  he hisses, taking another step back.  “ i’m not in the mood for it right now. ”

          The blue flame forms above his forehead, and flickers as he speaks, though his mouth does not move. “I believe I told you that you were not welcome in this forest. Now, tell me, what are you not in the mood for?” M’Zora shifts into a bobcat, its pure white fur a stark contrast from icy green eyes and glowing blue flame. He lets out a growl, baring his teeth, though he does not move from where he was standing.

    deak stops because he feels like something – or someone – is watching him. the ginger glances around, becoming quite paranoid that it’s a someone. his heart thuds against his chest at the thought and he slowly gets into a more defensive stance.  “ who’s there? ”

          The forest spirit flattens his ears and steps around the clearing, keeping the human in sight. His tail is lifted, the bright white of the fur a warning to other deer to stay away. He soon steps into a window formed between two trees to get a better vantage point, stomping his hooves against the forest floor.

          M’Zora, in the form of a deer, watches him from behind a few trees and some shrubbery, prepared to leap out at any moment, should he see the human doing something he does not like.

    he’s chopping up tree stumps he’s finding in the forest with hellbringer. and he’s not sure if it’s helping or not, but maybe it is.
