the look of love (for writers)
"it's all in the eyes i was once told"
catching the stare of someone across a crowded room
subtle furrowing of eyebrows beyond a blank facade
coldness easing into warmth
a fond mothering gaze
corner of the lip nudged upward
forced glower/glare as they break underneath
batting their lashes, playful
a boisterous laugh
intrigue piercing the stoic
proud smugness at the other's success
lingering glances
a childish joy bursting through
pupils dilate
eyelids shut in a look of peace, calm and trust
look of longing/betrayal
"there was once a time when they were mine"
terseness
features fold into a scowl
an urgent flinching back
coldness returns (as though the warmth had never come)
lips part then purse
invasion of shock
slow stare at the floor
the ripple effect of a swallow
frustrated breath/sigh
bitter laugh in reminiscence
dread tearing through the seams of their composure
look of hatred
"darkness"
mean smirk- teeth bared grimace- scowl
dismissive gaze
gaze of contempt/impatience
threat lowering the voice
sardonic goading grins verging on manic
rolling one's eyes
flicker of irritation in the eyes
stares stubbornly ahead despite distraction
gritted teeth, clenched jaw
fierce biting remarks
even measured complexions betraying no thought
strangling oneself back from violence
utter apathy
murderous silence hanging in the stare
snobbish laughter
smiling at another's downfall

Night at prison
Summary ➳ He was looking for you. (Idk what else to say)
(A/n) ➳ I'm new and English is not my first language so it's translated with the translator (I hope it doesn't show 🤠)
Daryl Dixon x Reader (maybe)
Content warning ➳ Nothing too bad really, mentioning of death and also mentioning of gross things.
Short story
It was an evening like any other, the breeze moving the treetops and giving a beautiful feeling of freedom just by touching her skin. Every evening she used to go out alone and sit somewhere and take a few moments for herself; To be alone with herself and relax after the usual anxiety she felt during the day.
She usually preferred to stay a few steps away from Block C, or sometimes even a few steps away from the first fence. In fact this time too she was sitting in an open space between the back of block C and the fence, breathing the clean outside air, when the sound of some footsteps made her come out of the trance she was momentarily in.
"Y/N? What are you doing here? I was looking for you."
What is she doing here? The question was what was Daryl doing here at this time of night. She turned her head toward him, staring into his dense eyes.
"I was relaxing a bit. Why were you looking for me?"
"Yar kiddin'?"
He replied instantly, implying that she should already know the answer.
"Huh?"
"I was gonna check between the blocks if everything was 'lright and when I passed by your cell, didn't find ya. Noticed some entrails scattered on the stairs of block D, one of ours became a walker. I killed him but didn't stop for a long time as I ran to find your princess ass."
He explained with his usual rough tone but at the same time more visible undertone of concern as he checked with his eyes if she was indeed 100% okay, without any injuries.
"Innards..?" She whispered, her eyes wide with confusion spreading across her face. "Did someone get bitten? I'm fine though."
He lets out a deep sigh, his tense body relaxing slightly, visibly calmer from this information. "Just him, duonno. I didn't even pay much attention to it. I jus' know I got there in time to keep that bastard from having dinner..."
She nodded, her gaze lingering on his form longer than she had intended to let it.
Wow, was he really that worried about her? She never expected that. Despite about a year of continuous contact since they have always been in the same group, they have not created a bond so close that they can already call it friendship.
But she doesn't complain.
"I wasn't worried because I care about you." He retorted. "I know that look, just know that the only thing that shook me was the thought of losing one of our best 'soldiers'."
Oh yeah, this is the Daryl she's always known.
“Trust me, it doesn’t change anything at all even if you say it from that perspective.” She replied.
“Whatever.” He huffed, looking down, then looked back at her when she looked away toward the walkers desperately crashing into the second ring of fence.
"Hey, where did you get those?" He asked after a few seconds of complete silence, surprised at the sight of her taking a cigarette from the little pack she found during the last group expedition.
"In a walker's pocket." She replied, holding a cigarette between her fingers and reaching into my pocket for the lighter.
"Oh. Okay..."
"Ya want one?” She asked him as she lit hers. She knew he wanted her to ask him this question. By now she could read his body language like a book without even looking at him.
"Fine." He said, walking over, taking the cigarette she was rolling between her fingers. He didn't even try to sneak up on her, he just moved her finger away in a surprisingly smooth motion, letting his cold hand come into contact with hers.
She looked up at him once more. "That was mine..." She pointed out, sounding... Not exactly angry. More like... Not surprised.
"Yeah. It was." He replied with a sly smile that made her roll her eyes before putting the lit cigarette in his mouth.
Guess he's getting his revenge now 'cause she didn't tell him she found the cigarettes.
“Idiot.” She whispered to herself as she took another cigarette from the pack, putting it in her mouth and lit it, hiding her own little smirk.
Prompt: That was mine:(/ Yeah. It was.
