"I feel... I feel like you don't believe me," Theodore said, letting Virgil lead him to a seat. His head bobbed slightly, like he was about to pass out at any moment. Even here, the music remained ever strong- vibrations passed through his sternum. It was tingly.
The elf cradled the cup in his hands, staring intensely at it. If he looked hard enough, he was certain he could see ripples in the water. "Can you teleport?" he asked, calmer.
"I'm always careful," Theodore stated. This was the nice Virgil river man. He was holding him like a sandwich. But upside down. Was he holding him so he wouldn't fall again? It was quite foolish, this action, for Theodore was immensely graceful, but touching nonetheless. A spark of hope in an otherwise dark world.
Tumblr media
"My home..." he slurred, thoughts drifting to the valley he had grew up in. It was an industrial compound now. "I'm not going in a building."

"Everything," Theodore spat, only slightly jolted by the sudden pull. He ran a hand through his hair, squinting. Momentarily, a brief exhilaration filled his body, then left just as quickly.
"It's a fine face," he contradicted himself. He looked a bit confused. "I'm home," Theodore stated. He began to actively squeeze himself through the dancing bodies. Where was his home? Car? Tree. Tree was nice.
Theodore blinked, making out Kang's face. Vaguely, he was remembered he was supposed to be the responsible adult out of the two. His face further heated at Kang's proximity, but it was hardly noticeable in the dim lighting
"Same old," the elf yelled, fighting to be heard. He was way too close. Was it because he was tired and completely out of it, but did Kang have Zhao's nose? Theodore couldn't remember. The man's face was all but a shadow and that frightened him. Was he forgetting him?
Theodore reached a hand up and pushed Kang's face to the side. "Your face!"

Theodore, in his sober state approximately three hours ago, had forgone the red glowing collar. Being bitten was always a euphoric experience, but it was one he was easily addicted to. The brief moment of pleasure he would feel would vanish once he was gorging himself to recover his lost blood.
He blinked, staring at the man. "You're like...." he started, righting himself. "You're like a sturdy tree." He had the sense to resist groping the man. "Do- do I ?" he said, reciprocating his smile, though his was a bit wider than was necessary.

Theodore hadn't planned to drink much. As an avid drinker in his past, he thought why the hell not. He had been looking for a little fun in his life, something to rile the cinders inside him. He had just overestimated his tolerence.
After a few cups of an especially potent wine, which one of the vampires boasted as more than a century-old, a fog had filled his overly cautious brain. For the first time in a while, he felt.. well... there were strings attached to him anymore. He was weightless.
He danced with a fervor, limbs mixing fluidly with passbyers. It was one step, another step, and then his feet stumbled over each other and he fell. It didn't hurt, to his surprise.

"Well, hello there," he mumbled, looking up at the person who caught him."

"Fun-" Theodore slurred, standing upright. For a few moments he wobbled precariously, but caught himself. "Yes, I suppose so. I'm slaying."
Again, he felt like he was supposed to know her. He felt like he knew everyone in the room, actually, all their souls were bare colours, flitting around like fireflies. He mumbled something about fancy birds, and turned to leave, before spinning around. "I thank you for holding me, is there anything I can give you?"

"Thank you," Theodore mumbled, righting himself. He couldn't believe he had fallen. Well, he could, but he didn't want to. The world was full of bright, neon lights and the music shook the floor, along with his ribcage. The man who pulled him up emanated a sort of dark energy from his soul, but Theodore was sure he wasn't a threat.
"Lots of cups. Do... Do I know you?" he pointed a finger at him, which swayed slightly. "I feel like I don't, so why do you know my name-- It's not fair, since I don't know yours."

"Is it just skin epithelials?" Theodore mused, standing somewhat on his two feet. He touched the side of his head, trying to put a name on her face. She looked familiar. She had the same color skin as... someone. Theodore felt like he would know her.

"Why are you cleaning the dance floors?' Theodore asked, pouting slightly. His brows furrowed some. Was this forced labor? Were Vievecor's supernatural species so poor that they had to force innocent people to wear their weird black collars and mop floors? "Do you need help?"

Nihira had her quick reflexes rather than her strength to thank for not getting pulled to the ground right along with the stumbling stranger. There were plenty of people at the party, wearing collars around their necks. Some by choice, some by force. Hers just so happened to be one of the fun ones that drained all of your powers and electrocuted you if you tried to remove it.
“Easy. You don’t want to go down here,” she cautioned, steadying the stranger. She could smell the alcohol on him and wanted to make sure he wouldn’t go careening into the next person the moment she let go. “Trust me, I’ve been cleaning up these floors all night. A Petri dish teeming with bacteria and fungi is nothing compared to it.”

"Oh, did I say protecting? I meant projecting, sorry-" Theodore said hastily. For a split second or two, he just looked at Eri. He didn't want to sound dumb in front of him, but really, it had been so long since he had studied anything similar to astral theory. "Um.." he wet his lips. "Well, I have to touch someone to be able to project them," he explained. "Spirits are most easily kept in the realm- I haven't tried trapping a demon, though."
Tumblr media
He smiled solemnly. "That would be a shortcut, and we can't have those in life. How much do you charge, per tattoo?"
Theodore blinked. As a deity, he should've known this? Right? He abstained from replying for a few moments, chewing on his lip. Shit. He didn't remember anything about magic theory.
Tumblr media
"Um..." he raised his hands, gesturing. "Soul magic deals with... the soul? Like protecting spirits into the astral plane, animating life, dream magic, and the such."
He lifted his brows, scanning the man's tattoos. They were inked well, with delicate precision. "Really?" he asked, swaying back and forth on his feet. "Their whole life? Life can be... an unpredictable thing."
Eri probably hadn't meant to be funny, but there was something about the way he said his last few sentences that made Theodore chuckle slightly, bringing a hand to cover his mouth. "I bet. How does it work? Does it emit a barrier or..."

All phenomena in existence are like dreams and illusions, which easily vanish, like dew as well as lightning. This is how we should view them. If only my heart could be like this, too, then I could endure the everchanging world. Then wouldn’t I become the morning dew forever accompanying the light of dawn? This too is a kind of everlasting. 王一博 WANG YIBO as 谢允 XIE YUN in 有翡 LEGEND OF FEI (2020-2021)

Theodore gave a small smile. "Music Theory."
Tumblr media
He nodded. It was an understandable reason-- they were out for the same reason, actually. Swaying gently on the balls of his feet, he looked over at the river's surface. Slowly, like a lullaby, the waters coursed over each other in a steady rhythm. "It is."
"Stage hand, hm?" he mused. "How is it? You must know Artus."
Shit, he's chatty. Theodore thought. He pinched himself, a reminder that if he wanted to go unnoticed, he should have turned into a sparrow.
"Hello," the elf smiled. Suddenly, Theodore was filled with dread: the dread you got when someone you knew was talking to you, but you didn't remember their name. He repeated the name under his breath, taking note of how the syllables flowed over his tongue. "I'm Theodore-"
"I work," he pointed in the direction of the Westwood school. "In there. Just stopping by a stroll to gather myself."
Tumblr media
His expression seemed to soften into a sort of curiosity, and he raised his brows inquisitively. "Do you work here?" Virgil had a handsome smile. "I haven't seen you around, before."

"I actually specialize in soul magic," Theodore explained readily. All elves were connected to the earth, but Theodore had never managed to successfully wield its power on command. He supposed to use the essence of life, one had to understand it. "With lunar and solar energies, and the astral plane, that kind of stuff."
Tumblr media
"Really?" he hummed. "Well, I guess it is hard to determine if we are humans, witches, or werewolves, considering the fact that we hide our ears."
"You?" he asked in return.

Theodore, on the other hand, spent his time mostly with children masquerading as grown adults.
He nodded, clasping his hands behind his back. "I think I would have to play something, to teach class," he said with a light chuckle.
Tumblr media
"I've lived for a while, and can play most common instruments at a advanced level, give or take. I do love the piano, though," he said. Eighty-eight keys, eighty-eight notes of pure perfection. He had been so thrilled when he had been invented, since he didn't like how sharp the harpsichord's tones were. "Do you play anything?"
xu-ying-feng:
“It’s always a wonderful day to walk in the park,” Theodore mused. It was where most elves felt the safest, after all. The place emitted earthly energy.
He swallowed and moistened his lips. This was why he liked dating in the mountains. If things didn’t work out, you could just hike to another spot. But here? They lived in the same city. So, in short, this was just Theodore being nervous.
Tumblr media
“I work at the Westwood School,” Theodore said. “Music Theory.”
-
Kass happened to agree. He spent most of his time around plants with his work and even his magic was based around plants so he liked getting to be around it. It was even better outdoors than indoors, where most of his work was. “It’s nice and warm out too,” he agreed.
The quiet between them seemed to stretch on and he wondered if he was being awkward or if they both were being awkward. It had been a while since Kass had done this while sober so he knew he could be making it awkward.
Tumblr media
“Oh that’s cool. Do you play anything?” he asked. Kass was making the an assumption but it seemed like a safe on to make if Theodore taught music theory.

Theodore's brow rose. Ah, so he was a sly old man, as well.
"I know," he said quietly. "But, it is still such a relief to see you again." Second chances like what had happened in the AU (for lack of a better word) had never happened in Theodore's life before, since rarely did deities use their time magic.
He paused, and chewed his lip. Had he misinterpreted Wren's words? Did he actually not remember? Did he remember? Goodness, this was like finding out if someone was supernatural all over again. Still, it was easier, this time. Soft waves of anxiety and guilt permeated the air, and though he was normally anxious, he doubted the guilt was his.
"Wren, did you choose to remember your alternate future? I know it must have been available to you as an elder..."
For: @xu-ying-feng
Location: Vievecor City Park
Wren had been happy to accept Theo’s invitation to meet that day. He would be working in the park anyway, so it made sense to meet him there in an environment they both loved. Though Wren did have to admit that he was a little apprehensive. He wasn’t sure if his friend has decided to find out about the events of the one possible future and since Wren had told Artus that he hadn’t chosen to remember, when he indeed had…Wren supposed he was going to have to lie to Theo too. What a mess he had created.
He lifted his head from the flower beds when he sensed someone approaching, removing his gloves as his lips curved to a smile. “Morning, Theodore,” He greeted, standing, “How are you?”
