I’m throwing some real old school stuff your way with this, you guys. A couple of the most memorable characters from NIMH: Mrs Brisby and the Great Owl! TRUTH MOMENT: The owl always freaked me out a little, I’m not gonna lie. xD

Animated film, THE SECRET OF NIMH (1982).

My brother and I rented it once. I remember being pretty startled by it—this wasn’t Disney. It was darker, more serious.

Though the film was only a moderate success at the box office, it received critical acclaim, especially for the animation. And indeed it’s visually spectacular, with its celestial color palettes and the effective use of rotoscoping and backlit animation (for the glowing eyes).

I would have Loved to see this beauty and Beast retelling, but it got cancelled. This was created by Don Bulth a animator that use to work at disney a long time ago but quit. He made other movies that are amazing like Anastasia and The Secret of Nimh. At the time he was making this movie disney was making there own version so Don Bluth had to cancel the project. It probably would have told the dark retelling, and if you have seen his work you would know why.❤️
