KPDH AU:

Rumi is really bad at hiding her demon half. Her patterns glow when she feels strong emotions, one of her eyes turns gold when angry or stressed out, she growls and purrs, her claws are incredibly sharp, her senses are far beyond human, all in all Rumi is absolutely terrible at hiding her demon half.

Rumi is convinced she's doing an amazing job at hiding it.

Mira and Zoey clocked onto their leaders half demonhood within a month and are working to make Rumi feel safe enough to come out to them.

Celine knows Rumis cover is blown, and she keeps meaning to talk to her about it, but she keeps putting it off. But come on, Rumi always looks so proud of herself when she talks about how good she is at hiding it, she'll be devastated when she finds out! Celine doesnt want to do that to her!

Even the fans know Rumi isn't human. They thought it was a gimmick at first but she's always "in character". On stage yes, but also at fan signings, meet and greets, and even just walking on the street. Its gotten to the point where most serious fans genuinely dont belive shes human.

#WhatDidMiyeongFuck is trending after almost every one if Rumis appearances.

The only person Rumi has fooled is Bobby, and thats because when he approached her about the rumors Rumi panicked and made up some fake skin condition and said she was really insecure about it. Bobby now spends way too long working with PR to try and squash the rumors and making sure Rumi never hears about them.

I keep thinking about the very specific situation of Zoey being insanely good at crane games/claw machines and so any time Mira or Rumi see a prize they want they immediately shove her at it and loom over her shoulders and cheer and panic like it's the Superbowl

Extra: a polytrix date where they just go to one of those claw machine only arcade things and she just wins like crazy and at the end she's carrying just a mountain of goodies for the three of them and is looking super smug and proud about it

I think when you correctly identify a trauma that is the base of a woe of yours it should just disappear. It should be like "aaahh. you got me" and vanish and leave 100 dollars behind

Zoey grew up in CA, and it's pretty widely accepted that she speaks at least some Spanish. Leaning into that more (and going off my biker Rumi), I think Zoey has her grandma on her moms side, and her abuela on her dads side.

Zoey learned everything from her grandma. As the oldest cousin, she was always in the kitchen learning to cook and watching abuela smack kids (and adults) in the head with a chancla or a wooden spoon. Whichever was closest.

Zoey can channel the anger of her abuela into her voice when she speaks Spanish, and it's like the heavens above tremble in fear. She has only used it three times in the memory of HUNTR/X.

The first time was when she found out that Celine had told Rumi they wouldn't love her if she was a demon. Even Celine, who had killed more demons than HUNTR/X had ever seen, was shaking in fear as Zoey got louder and louder.

The second time was when Rumi posted the video of herself mountain biking. The reason Zoey was so mad was because she went through Rumi's phone when she got home and saw that Rumi had indeed crashed while riding that day. Rumi's lecture lasted even longer than Celine's.

The third time, it's a different game. A fan at one of their events is being handsy with Mira and not taking no for an answer. By the time Rumi notices that something is wrong, Zoey is storming over to the fan.

She rips them to shreds in front of the media and the other fans. There are insults flying out of her mouth at the speed of light, and she's constantly switching between the three languages because she's so mad.

Rumi manages to quiet her down right after she says some choice words about this fans ancestors and their decedents ("I will curse your bloodline so hard that your ancestors will roll in their graves and your decedents will be born with their heads backwards!"). The whole fandom gains a very healthy respect for Zoey's anger, and no one dares to try and touch one of her girls again.

Bonus: Mira doesn't yell when she's mad, she just quietly insults you until you die (example: "I bet your Nona died before giving you her pasta recipe because you were that much of a disappointment to her." and "If you were the best decision your parents made, then they must be dead at this point.")

I like Spanish Zoey. Fun fact, I have actually said all of these insults when I have to deal with terrible drivers.
