Saying hi to everyone that greeted, and you went straight to the gym. There was going to be a cheer practice for tomorrow’s game. You were greeted by Chrissy and the girls. None of them wish your happy birthday or congratulated you for turning 18. The entire practice you had to hold back the tears.

Your birthday couldn’t be any worst. For many months you believed that today was going to be perfect, that for once people were going to remember about you. They didn’t need to give you gifts but by just them congratulating you would have filled you with happiness and it would show that people cared about you.

You said your goodbyes as cheer practice ended and the girls decided to stay a bit more in the gym to plan out the party in the end of the week. It was going to be in Jason’s house, he was the worst prick in Hawkins high. You started walking to the girl’s bathroom and started to let your tears come out. Your parents forget it was your birthday and now your close friends did.

Eddie smiled as he saw you, but his smile was immediately swept away as he saw you crying. He held onto the gift he got you and decided to go check up on you.

“Y/N?” he asked as he walked to you, sounding very worried.

You quickly ran into the girl’s bathroom and closed the door. Immediately regretting letting your emotions and sadness overcome you. Eddie began to knock on the girl’s bathroom looking around that no one was nearby.

“Y/N can you please talk to me? What happened?” he kept asking and sighed as he never got an answer from you. He leaned in closer to the door and he could hear you cry. “Please come out” he begged.

You never replied to him and tried to calm yourself down. After what felt like eternity, you decided to man up. You washed your face and redid your ruined makeup. When you finished, you looked yourself at the mirror and gave yourself a small smile.

Eddie has sat down in front of the door as 20 minutes has passed by and you didn’t open the door. He decided that he wasn’t going to leave you behind. In his head, he kept wondering why you were sad. It was your birthday, and you shouldn’t be sad.

“Y/N?” he asked as he heard the bathroom door open, and he saw you with a smile.

“Hi Eddie” you said softly and began walking away.

“Why were you crying?” he asked as he kept up with you.

“No, I wasn’t” you sighed as you looked down and stopped to turn to him. “I’m alright, I promise” you gave him a small smile and leaned up to give him a kiss on the cheek.

Eddie blushed and didn’t believe you. He grabbed your hand and started walking “You are coming with me” he said and led you outside of Hawkins High.

“Eddie, I have a class in ten minutes” you said as you softly tugged back at his hand.

“I’m pretty sure that you can skip one class for once” he chuckled and led you into the woods.

You sighed and decided to stay quiet. Not having the enough strength to argue with him. He sat you down on the bench and smiled. Eddie grabbed the bandana that he had in his pocket and wrapped it on top of your eyes.

“Eddie what are you doing?” you whined softly.

“I need you to stay here for 5 minutes and I’ll be right back” he laughed softly.

You wrapped your arms and waited for him. Eddie had ran to his van and took out the cupcakes that he had bought for you. The 4 cupcakes were in a small box, and he put two candles that spelled 18. He walked because carefully to you and light the candles with his lighter.

“Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you” Eddie began to sing.

You removed the bandana and smiled softly as you saw Eddie with cupcakes and light up candles. Tears began to form in your eyes and roll down your cheeks. He finished singing when he stood right in front of you.

“Make a wish” he whispered and brought the candles closer to you. It gutted Eddie seeing you sad.

You blew the candles and hugged him immediately. “Thank you so so much” you cried softly and let out small cries. Eddie put the cupcakes down on the small table and hugged you back.

“You are very special Y/N, so special to me” he whispered and hugged you tighter.

You smiled and nodded your head. He brought his hand under your chin and make you look up at him. Slowly he began leaning in and looked at you for confirmation; you nodded your head, and he kissed you softly. You wrapped your arms around his neck and kissed him. He leaned back with a small smile.

“I really like you Y/N, ever since I ever met you eight years ago.” He said and caressed your cheek with a hand as he wrapped his other arm around your waist.

“It’s about time you said something Munson, I was about to give up” you chuckled and wiped off some of the tears away.

“Better late than ever, Y/L/N” he chuckled and leaned in pecking your lips.

“Thank you for being the only one to remember my birthday” you sighed and hugged him tighter. Feeling grateful to have him in your life.

“I would never forget your birthday” he said frowning at the thought of how you might have felt earlier.

You nodded your head and leaned your head on his chest.

“Would you like to be my girlfriend?” he asked as looked down to you. His body being consumed with nervousness.

“I would love that” you smiled and looked up at him. He let out the breath that he didn’t know that he was holding in and kissed you passionately.

Finally, he had the girl of his dreams, he finally confessed his feelings to you after 8 years. You were the new girl in town and the only one who sat with him during lunch. You became his best friend and the girl that he ever had a crush on. Now you were his girlfriend, and he couldn’t be anymore ecstatic.

“Should we eat those cupcakes that I bought for you?” he smiled.

“We could but, I want to open up that gift right there” you said as you pointed at the wrapped gift that was in the table. He nodded his head and handed it to you.

“It’s not much but I hope you like it” he said and kissed your cheek.

You smiled and unwrapped the gift. It was a small photo portrait, with a picture of both of you. It was when you went to the amusement park with the gang and all of you, we are wearing the Hellfire club t-shirt. After a few pictures with them, they made you both take a picture. You jumped on his back, and he caught you. Eddie smiled looking at you and you smiled at him. Dustin had taken the picture at the perfect time. You both looked so happy together.

“This is perfect Eddie” you whispered as you looked at the picture of you both. “Thank you” you said and pecked his lips.

“I’ll have to thank Henderson later” he chuckled and kissed you back. You nodded you head smiling.

“let’s eat the cupcakes now, I’ve been craving them for a minute now” he said and sat down. Eddie made you sit on his lap.

“Happy birthday baby” he blushed as he said that.

“Thank you, Munson,” you smiled and kissed him.
