Huh. Anyone else's notifications are freaking out? I'm gettting dozens of alerts in the past hour but when I check, there's nothing there...

Does the evil Mushroom king have a name ? Or do I have to keep calling him "Racist Mushroom Grandpa"?

Admittedly, I was a little clumsy about the naming mechanics.

He does have a 'name' - that being Toadstool. And his son, named after his father; also named Toadstool. (Making him a 'Junior' as a result)

But, uh... neither of them have... or at least I never actually gave them a first name. There just wasn't much of a need for it.

This is partially by design. Cherry did have the dying wish that they would not be memorialized in any way.

So, technically, it's up in the air whether 'Racist Mushroom Grandpa' had a name other than 'Toadstool'. Did he just have the one name? Did he have a first, middle, and fantastic title besides 'king'?

Who knows. He doesn't deserve to be addressed by any of them.

Officially, if you're looking for a proper name to call him by, 'King Toadstool Senior' is what I've been penning this whole time.

My take on Boo's in my comic's universes...

We've yet to see them in any storyline of mine, but I've wanted them to take on more of an 'animalistic' trait—or, at best, creatures of very low intelligence.

They function more like parasitic slimes that just so happen to float. Sucking the life force of whatever prey they manage to get their gloopy mitts on.

Luigi, at some point in his life, ends up as the go-to 'pest control,' getting rid of Boos from various locations. Tragically for Luigi - it turned out he was way better at handling the Boo's compared to his brother.

My take on Boo's in my comic's universes...

We've yet to see them in any storyline of mine, but I've wanted them to take on more of an 'animalistic' trait—or, at best, creatures of very low intelligence.

While we see how Peach deals with the newsstand - We never actually see how Mario dealt with it.

...And he didn't deal with it very well. Unlike Peach - he wasn't as easily able to let it go. And very unlike Peach, he was less willing to take a diplomatic approach. (Maybe due to his upbringing...)

Threatening this one Toad may work in the short term. But between not actually diffusing the situation (And making it worse in a way) - Mario wouldn't have been able to carry out any real threat against the Toads. All bark and no bite. And the Toads would catch onto that.

It especially wouldn't help that Peach would very much disapprove of this method, leading her to insist to Mario that she truly has things handled.
