Where did you get the inspiration and idea for Mew & Mewtwo? Because I can get behind the idea of them being Mews babies and turned into what they are now

I think it was mainly inspired by the original journal entries from the Cinnabar mansion where it said mew gave birth and they named the newborn mewtwo

I just find the whole Ken Penders stuff stupid. This guy was being overprotective, and now Sonic characters aren't allowed to emote past "Man, that sucks". It's like if Popeye sued Nintendo because they said they made Pauline, so now Mario's not allowed to jump.

bro also thought he owned echidnas. Honestly I have no idea how the sonic comics survived past the adventures era

Sega USED to allow Sonic to be more emotional...

But then the Ken Penders lawsuit happened and they CRACKED DOWN on all their intellectual properties with STRICT rules on what could be done with their characters in an attempt to avoid a repeat.

They've been loosening up lately (as seen by how movie!Sonic was allowed to cry on screen), but they're still a bit paranoid about a potential repeat.

Yeah and even when he was emotional under the Penders writing it was the worst way to do it because it was all wrapped up in love triangles while Sonic bounced between like four of his different hoes. Also doing the typical 90s/00 generic teenager playing his guitar and singing emo songs because of his hoes

There's still a stigma that if a character isn't an ultra macho badass 24/7 that makes them a wimp. Granted, it's a LOT better these days than in the past, but there's still unfortunately a lot of 'omg can this character just nut up already' media goers out there. :/

I notice it was always a big thing with Japanese male characters too that they can’t really show strong negative emotions, mainly crying. Like in the anime when Tails was weeping about his dead plant girl and Sonic just has his fists at his sides and doesn’t even look at him, to me it just comes across as he doesn’t care about anything XD I don’t see him being cool

And with shadow he’s only allowed to do the single tear “sexy cry” trope lol never allowed to full on weep. Silver couldn’t cry either when his imaginary friend died, he was maybe wiping his eyes but from then on completely forgets that happened by how he acts

Hey tc, what are some media you like quite a lot, outside of media you’ve made comics for? Whether it’s a random game you played as a kid or a show you’ve watched recently that you’re a huge fan of despite not making comics for them

fun fact the biggest childhood favourite of mine, even bigger than Disney was? The Land Before Time, and I mean all of them

I watched them so much growing up I think they're hardwired into my brain now, I could probably recite the plots of them all from memory.
