hello, may i request a MUD for one of my sysmates? he does not feel anything unless he's interacting with some sort of media, usually music, but games and books are included too. it might come with dpdr symptoms, a general sense of apathy for real people and situations, low/no empathy for real people but hyperempathy for fictional people. not sure what else to add here to be perfectly honest.
-🦉🌙
MEDIA - DEPENDENT EMOTIONAL DYSREGULATION
— What is it ?
MDED is a condition where individuals feel emotionally numb in real life, relying on media — like music , games , and books — to elicit feelings. This leads to apathy toward genuine relationships while fostering heightened empathy for fictional characters, creating a dependency that hinders authentic emotional engagement.
— Symptom List :
Emotional Numbness : Difficulty feeling emotions in real - life situations . Media Dependency : Reliance on media to experience emotional responses . Hyper - empathy for Fiction : Intense emotional reactions to fictional characters or scenarios . Social Withdrawal : Preference for media interactions over face-to-face relationships . Reality Distortion : Trouble distinguishing between real and mediated emotional experiences , often causing dissociation .
— Treatment ?
This disorder can be regulated with the right support !
Treatment may involve therapy aimed at increasing emotional awareness and fostering real-life connections , such as cognitive-behavioral therapy or mindfulness practices ! Additionally , gradually reducing media consumption while engaging in real - world activities can help individuals reconnect with their emotions and improve interpersonal relationships !

Manic/Hyperactive Nocturnal Stress Disorder [M/HNSD]
[there is also the combined version; Combined Nocturnal Stress Disorder or CNSD]
[coined: 11/13/2024 [NOV 13th 2024] by me!!]
[There is three types with very little difference, MNSD is Manic Nocturnal Stress Disorder where at night/dark times one is in a state of mania. HNSD is Hyperactivity Nocturnal Stress Disorder in which one is hyperactive when its dark/nighttime. CNSD is Combined Nocturnal Stress Disorder a mix of them where one is both hyperactive and Manic during the nighttime/dark, you can interpret that however makes sense to you.]
H/M/CNSD is a stress disorder characterized by when one tends to be low energy, tired, sad, depressed [internally and/or externally] in the early to mid hours of the day but once it gets dark/late they switch to hyperactive and/or manic. This comes with an inability to focus or be creative during the day, loss of sleep, distress if they are not able to work, and high levels of stress/anxiety because of sleep loss, lost time, time spent not working, and relationships [people they only see during the daytimes].
[tw/cw: there is a self-harm and drug mention]
Symptoms/criteria:
1) Often being sad, low energy, irritable, depressed/depressive, or having a loss of motivation during a diurnal/light/early time period
2) Masking these [diurnal/daytime] feelings for others/putting on a completely different persona, making yourself more “socially acceptable” and “likable”. This can lead to when you unmask feeling empty or depersonalization/derealization/dissociation and like your “drowning” or being “smothered” by this mask/persona
3) Being unable or not wanting to talk to/interact with others [or having any daytime interactions feels very forced] for a variety of reasons [e.g. Anxiety, depressed feelings, high levels of distress, disgust/annoyance towards diurnal beings that are a result of the disorder]
4) Having a sudden burst of mania and/or hyperactivity in late/nocturnal/dark time period characterized by:
- a feeling of insanity or like your losing your mind
- extreme distress or anxiety at not being able to get all your work done before a certain time/time passing “too fast” or “too slow”
- flitting between different tasks/inability to stay focused or working on one thing for to long/easily distracted
- not wanting to sleep/go to bed or wanting to but feeling like your obliged to stay awake/have an obligation
5) [not all with this disorder may experience this] Moderate to severe paranoia due to the dark/mania/hyperactivity/other distresses caused by this disorder
6) Timorpathic Unease due to the distress/paranoia/anxiety that is caused by this disorder
7) [not all but most will experience this]Relying on unhealthy or extreme means to stay awake and keep working, including but not limited to; excessive caffeine, drugs, self-harm, etc.
8) Having symptoms that are persistent and cause distress/interruptions within ones daily life for 6 months or more
9) Symptoms do not stem from another disorder EXCEPT bipolar disorder which may be a cause for M/C/HNDS
Possible Causes:
1 ) The most common cause is high levels of stress/anxiety/distress, wether or not it is current, recent, or in the past may affect the severity
2) Bipolar disorder may put you at a higher risk for this disorder
3) Trauma in which you were put into very strict confined schedules or were under a lot of pressure/stress
4) Growing up with/being raised by people who had obsessive tendencies [especially if these tendencies often lead to neglect]
5) Could also be a certain gene or just genetics in general [as this is not a medically recognized disorder there has not been significant research done to prove this theory]
---------------------------------------------
Me and my blog have no DNI so neither does my terms as long as they are used as intended [e.g. using it for making fun of communities would not be allowed].
If this or something similar has already been coined consider this an alternate term/recoin/alternate flag design.
---------------------------------------------
oh also I'm gonna post this on both of my accounts [@/sketcheddaydreams and @/drawingrainbowsonthewalls] so lemme know where its better to post coining posts on!!

could you possibly coin something similar to MIID except instead of it being one's reflection, it's with the image of a character they strongly identify with or as (whether in an alterhuman way, a system way, or a transid/cis id way)
》 @radically-katrielle
CHARACTER AFFINITY IDENTITY DISORDER
— What is it ?
Character Affinity Identity Disorder (CAID) is a condition where an individual strongly identifies with a specific character's portrait, to the point where their sense of self becomes deeply intertwined with that character’s traits or persona. This can lead to emotional overlap, confusion about personal identity, and difficulty functioning outside of the character, often causing distress or anxiety when not embodying them .
— Symptom List :
Intense Identification : A persistent and overwhelming sense of self being tied to a specific character's portrait, to the point where their traits, appearance, or life experiences feel deeply aligned with the individual’s own identity . Emotional Portrait Attachment : A strong, almost uncontrollable urge to look at images or representations of the character, often for reassurance, comfort, or to reinforce the identity connection . Inconsistent Self-Perception : Shifts in self-perception, where the individual may struggle to define who they are outside of the character, feeling lost when not expressing or identifying as them . Dysphoria or Anxiety : Feelings of discomfort or distress when unable to embody or express the character, leading to anxiety or a sense of disconnection from one’s own identity . Altered Social Interactions : Difficulty engaging in social environments as their “real” self, preferring to present or embody the character’s traits or persona in interactions .
— Treatment ?
Unlike MIID , CAID isn't as easily treatable .
While potentially addressed with some therapeutic methods, may be less straightforward to treat due to the deeply ingrained nature of the identity attachment to the character. Unlike MIID, which might respond well to behavioral therapies that help individuals dissociate from their reflections, CAID may involve more complex layers of identity formation, possibly including dissociation or a strong alterhuman, system, or trans/cis identity component. In cases where CAID is more about a deeply rooted sense of self, treatment may be longer-term or focus on integration techniques that help the person understand and navigate their identity without fully relying on the character.

🔥🌋﹕burnt commitment disorder◞ (BCMD)
BCMD is an MUD (medically unrecognised disorder) for those that commit to things they're sure they want (eg. social media accounts, relationships, online identities) and then panic once they're in "too deep" and abandon the responsibility, often then taking up similar (or completely different) ones after, similar to the action of burning something down and starting anew.
symptoms + diagnostic criteria﹕
Committing to things that feel fun and enjoyable at the time, but quickly dropping them in a panic.
Often feeling as if you're in over your head with responsibilities
Feeling as if everythings spiralling out of control whenever you're apart of something, even when it's things other people seem to deal with daily just fine.
Often disappearing off the face of the internet/earth only to come back a few months later with a new account/personality
