So are we gonna talk about Lucas not feeling comfortable enough to ask E*die to postpone the game himself?

Are we gonna talk about the fact that Mike and Dustin refer to Lucas's game with the proper terminology until they sit down next to E*die? When Dustin sits down and refers to the game as a "balls and baskets" game he's literally trying to speak E*die's language before asking him to postpone the game.

Are we gonna talk about Mike actively trying to lie in order to get E*die to postpone the game?

Are we gonna talk about E*die being the other side of the extreme and alienating those who aren't traditional 'freaks'? (Judging people without getting to know them, based on things that they do that don't define their personalities like playing games.)

Are we gonna talk about the hunt for a sub basically being punishment for asking E*die to postpone the game? Because as far as I know DnD doesn't need a particular number of players. (We see Will, Mike, and Lucas literally play in a trio the season prior)

Finally, are we gonna talk about the fact I'm pretty sure Mike talked to E*die more than Lucas did, despite being in California?

thinking about lucas and dustin finding out that will and mike are together and then dustin starts acting all upset and dramatic and mike and will are both internally freaking the fuck out like “holy fuck I didn’t think that dustin wouldn’t be okay with it,” and then lucas starts laughing and going “I told you so,” at dustin and now will and mike are REALLY freaking out because “lucas too?? is he laughing at us?? what did he tell dustin??“

and then lucas and dustin start bickering while will and mike stand there panicking like 🧍🧍‍♂️and this goes on for a good few minutes until dustin catches a glimpse of mike and will’s horrified expressions/the fact that mike looks like he’s on the verge of either crying or losing his shit on dustin and lucas and the fact that will looks like he’s on the verge of a panic attack and Dustin’s just like “wait, shit, lucas-“ and lucas turns to look where dustin’s looking and then they both realize that mike and will have TOTALLY misinterpreted what’s going on here and they explain that they had a bet on when mike and will would get together (not if, when) and that dustin lost.

mike and will are immediately relieved and dustin and lucas pull them in for a group hug and then pull back and lucas gives them shit about “did you guys really think that we wouldn’t accept you?? come ON,” and will sort of nervously laughs and mike just looks kind of sad when lucas says that, and so lucas and dustin pull them in for hugs AGAIN and sure maybe mike’s crying just a tiny bit but nobody says anything about it, they just let him (like in a comforting way not in an ignoring him way)

and then will is like “wait you guys were betting on us???” and mike cuts in with his sassy mike voice tm all like “yeah??? You were BETTING ON US?? How?? I didn’t even think it was possible for will and I to get together??”

will: am I that obviously gay???

mike: am I that obviously gay???

dustin, addressing both of them: separately? no. but when you’re together?? when you’re together you’re off in your own little world. and it’s pretty obvious

mike, indignant, about to talk

lucas, cutting in, grabbing Dustin’s hands and mimicking mike’s voice: “oh, will?? are you okay??? Are you sure?? What can I do for you?? Are you sure you’re okay?? Your smile seemed slightly dimmer today- or maybe I was just distracted staring at your lips”

dustin, laughing his ass off and mimicking Will’s voice: “oh, mike!! thank you for protecting me!! I’m okay- now that you’re here. Perhaps my smile was dimmer because I was distracted staring at your lips- not that your lips don’t make me smile, I just-“

mike and will cut them off at the same time, whining about how they “don’t sound like that!!” and “I think I preferred it when I thought you guys were homophobic”

I've been thinking about this for a while and decided to ask you since you're interested the the timeline, but I've been a little confused about the rain fight day. I've rewatched the ep today and I'm still confused. Like ok so they wake up "super early" with Will trying to make them play. So they play a little and then they fight. Even if they didn't start playing right away, even if they played for hours, there's no way they played the entire day, Will wouldn't have taken them mocking him for hours to no end right? Ok so they fight, let's say between 10am and noon, and then what happened? Did Will go to Castle Byers immediately and stay there in the rain until night??? Did he go home at first and then to Castle Byers? How long did it take for Mike to go after him? Cause when Mike goes after him it's night already. When you watch it, it feels like Mike and Lucas went after Will immediately but if that was the case, then they woke up super early, then played a little, then had a fight, then they went after him and it was suddenly night. I don't get it. I feel dumb lol.

At first, i went "oh, it wasn't nighttime, it was just dark because of the rain," but then i realized that at the same time that will's destroying castle byers, max and el walk in on heather's family (and billy) having dinner/supper. so it was clearly evening. and it's also worth noting that this is the night that the motorbike terminator guy beat the shit out of hopper, and then when hopper's talking to kline the next day, he says "your friend almost killed me last night," implying again that it was night/evening time. this is the clock a bit after the rain fight, when robin cracks the code

I can't read clocks, but if you can, anon, or if anyone else who sees this can, this is the time right after will destroys castle byers/before el and max go in to talk to billy, but also after the rain fight.

i just!!!! what the FUCK!! anon ur brain is huge and this is gonna keep me up tonight, i need answers. because like. i was like "Oh well maybe will just sat at castle byers," but mike seems to go after him pretty quickly, so even if will was sitting at castle byers, mike would have been there and seen him because it seems like he went after will pretty fast??? idk the whole thing is odd!! especially since they went out of their way to have mike complain that it was "so early"
