I can't believe I somehow missed this, but it's there - the parallel between Himmel and Wirbel is certainly there and might be possibly important later on. Personality wise, Wirbel is like a rougher version of Himmel. I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up being a folk hero of some sort in the far future.

I wonder if he ends up like Himmel and will have some sort of a bittersweet love like Himmel and Frieren.

oh golly oh boy I sure do love the light blue haired character from Frieren Beyond Journey's End with a flowing cape who becomes a skilled fighter after promising a childhood friend and go on to be incredibly skilled and willing to do gruesome and necessary things to achieve their goals!

Probably an unpopular opinion, but I am beginning to think the next episode is going to be GOLBetty breaking up with Simon/telling him to move on from her to find his happiness, and that Fionna and Simon would get together?

Mind you, I ship Betty and Simon but I think this is the very heartbreaking thing that's gonna happen to Simon at the end of this series that I keep hearing about.
