Headcanon which is basically canon in my statement is that Valerie is definitely a lover girl, she would fall head over heels for any boy or girl or person her age. And after replaying Ace's quest, it makes me think alot on how if Valerie was in you know MC's place, she wouldve been heartbroken and devastated and even desperate like MC was. Because for a weird and sweet short time, she found a nice friendship with someone who's so driven like her. Then boom betrayal and Valerie feels like a hollow shell, she has dealt with betrayals from close people but for someone to be consistent in their betrayal and actively bringing down your reputation and your school's reputation, is just heart shattering.

Valerie would eventually learn to forgive Ace since she has help enroll him to berry high, but occasionally Ace would spot a hint of a glare or a near sneer at him but would immediately be gone. Valerie is a forgiver but of course would never forget a betrayal that was so harsh.

THE SMOKE IN OUR LIPS

(cw: smoking, drugs??, Wes and Valerie have a blunt session) (This is also based of that one poll i saw a while ago of Wes smoking)

They sat there side by side, shoulders leaning onto one another, knees touching, their hands barely touching, but their eyes were glued to each other. Valerie looks at Wes with hazy eyes as she tilts her head at him with a look of concern but she takes the blunt in her hand to her lips and sucks in the addicting substance and blows out a puff of smoke to Wes’s face.

Wes couldn't help but giggle as he threw his head back, trying to avoid the smoke but she distinctly heard his nose sniffing the smoke, inhaling it mostly. Valerie couldn't help but snort at his reaction but coughed as she accidentally inhaled some of the smoke, eventually she recovered slowly. His hand roamed and gave a firm squeeze between their now intertwined fingers as he looked back at her with soft amusement in his eyes.

"Stop looking at me like that..." Valerie whispered through her lips that gave a lopsided smirk to him, but she couldn't resist squeezing back feeling every rough line in their palm. "In what way?" Wes chuckled softly as he couldn't stop looking at her with such warm hazy eyes and the way he said it danced around her ears like an addiction.

"That! That look, and don't bullshit me right now with saying 'in what way?'" Valerie looks at him with bewildering clarity as she rolls her eyes feigning annoyance but her heart says otherwise as it skipped a beat ever so fast. "Okay- okay, fine.. maybe I knew but is it a bad thing?" His head tilted ever so slightly curiously asking at Valerie with a nervous grin.

There was a pause in the room when those words slipped by, Valerie’s jaw was slightly agaped but she didn't answer immediately as she raised the blunt up with it between her fingers and up to her lips and slowly inhaled the substance letting it flow in her lungs. "I suppose not... It's just- weird?" Valerie uttered out. Her eyes closed with ease and she instinctively blew out the smoke that had built up with ease letting it dance around the room.

"Weird how?" There was a shift that Valerie felt and realised Wes had moved closer now than they were before as he leaned close eye to eye with her, as her own eyes widened in surprise at their close proximity. "I- uhm.. I don't know? Just weird" She stammered as her eyes moved erratically. That definitely wasn't his eyes but she mistakenly landed on Wes’s lips as Valerie held her breath.

"If you say so, but I think weird is good" Wes deduced with a smile on his lips as he leaned dangerously closer now that she had to reclined back. Silence was in the air as he sat there leaning onto one another but the mood was entirely more intimate, it was terrifying to say. Valerie opened her mouth to utter a word but she paused as she saw Wes lean his entire body, releasing his hold from her hand and reaching out for the blunt that was slipping by her fingers.

Valerie’s breath hitches from the contact of their skin touching sending an electric sensation through her body and her heart races, she was sure Wes could hear her heartbeat at this point. Silently he gently took the blunt off her fingers as he lingered ever so slightly against Valerie before putting it against his soft lips and dragging out inhaling the drug into his lungs.

Wes’s body finally detaches far enough yet still close, and leaned back to their original position, his knees knocking against hers. He let out a puff of smoke that remained dancing in the air, but Valerie couldn't tear her eyes off him as he laid there beside her calmly and ever looking so charming. Valerie’s heart now sticks to a normal rhythmic beat, as she continues to stare at Wes with a longing gaze and her nose immediately smells the distinct scent of cannabis flooding the room overflowing their senses.

"I suppose, it's- good weird? You said that right?" Valerie breathed out a chuckle as she shifted her body, feeling more awkward than usual, she shifted beside him but her head lay rested on his shoulder. Wes’s body shivers from this sudden shift, but relaxes as he simply hummed at her statement and took another drag of the blunt seeing its end burning up. "This is kinda... Weird" Valerie muttered, he giggled out as the smoke automatically escaped his lungs letting it flow out letting it trickle to the air.

"Again— weird how? Hm?" Wes repeated with glee in his voice letting amusement slip out, it made her heart race hearing it. "I don't know— it just feels… weirdly intimate?" Valerie managed to finish her sentence with nervousness covering her embarrassment but it didn't cover much with how close they are as of now, it was unbelievably hard to breathe all of a sudden with the nearness of one another. Overall, it felt nice and warm.

"Is that… a bad thing? That it's— weirdly intimate?" The question hung in the air as it was only filled with an occasional noise of the outside vehicles driving by or the annoying whirring of the ac unit, but what was louder was her heartbeat as it pounded against her ears inconsistently. Valerie managed to take a deep breath inhaling the cannabis that swam in the air and the faint smell of laundry detergent on them.

"No— it's not.. I was just wondering is all" The tension was so thick it could be cut with a knife, replacement with tension is awkwardness, neither of them were the wiser to actually make a move without it being weird or having it mean something more perhaps.

I genuinely forgot in the midst of making Valerie is that she actually did have a sibling in my first concept of making her, because in the first concept Valerie had a older brother who was only a year older than her, his name was Victor, and he and Valerie were inseparable until dun dun dunnn they grew up and her parents saw Valerie acing alot in her academics, which unintentionally pushed Victor to the side and made him resent her.

Due to some ahem ahem business stuff, Valerie's mom and dad decide to move to america with Valerie of course, but Victor fought with his parents for him to stay in the Philippines as he wasn't very fond of leaving the only thing that somewhat mattered to him and wasn't gonna have it be taken away by their parents. So Victor stayed and blah blah blah.

Angst stuff happens with Valerie trying to reach out to Victor but always gets a automated voicemail or left on delivered. Valerie wants to make amends but with Victor cutting contact or responding, it was no use, even visiting him is no good considering he stopped living in their old house and probably someplace else.

Okay made this way too long but the gist of it is sibling angst, older sibling resents younger sibling over parent's favouritism and I wanted to add that to Valerie's whole backstory but I just sticker with her being an only child as it just seemed fitting :P

Valerie Calloway, official lore pre-hss!

(I pretty much retconned SOME of her previous factoids)

1997-2009

Valerie Marian M. Calloway was born on the date of February 21st, 1997 in St. Luke's Medical Center in Taguig and was doted on lovingly by her parents and most of all, her close relatives of paternal (american) and maternal (filipino) sides. Her parents wanted Valerie to have the utmost best education and thus enrolling her to De La Salle University, and this helped ignite her interest in psychology from a library book a senior high student introduced her to. Valerie continued to learn in La Salle until the age of 12 years old and had received news from her mother that they were moving to America!

2009-2012

By the age of 12 years old, moving to a whole county was a big abrupt change for Valerie, everyone did everything different, and it somewhat scared her, but with a brave face and courageous heart she could accomplish and adapt to living and fitting in, she's sure this is definitely not going to affect her in a negative way at all! Her new friends might look at her weird with how overly polite and friendly she acts and knows way too much information but they're still her friends nevertheless! One school afternoon her mother pulls her aside and gently tells her of the recent news. This was the start of Valerie's mental health going into a downward spiral with how often they had to move and move to different states, different houses, and different schools. Of course despite it all Valerie made the most of what little time she had in those places by befriending and helping her friends, and during most summers is when she gets to truly shine as she convinces her parents to let her do activities that would help her upskill further. Her parents were worried knowing what the effect of moving so much is doing to their poor daughter, even more so when it was hard to go home as often so they let her do what she wanted if it made her feel better. They had thankfully stopped moving and Valerie managed (guilt tripped) her parents to let her join community college by the age of 14 years old and took psychology to get her associate degree quickly! By the age of 12 to 15 years old, she had accumulated a myriad of experiences through short lived hobbies and outside lessons she participated in such as horseback riding, ballet, writing, swimming, singing, arts and crafts, acting and etc etc. She had a fun experience and met a lot of people during those lessons. It didn't help that during those lessons she would daydream of the cute blond in her ballet lessons or the cute tall brunette in her acting lessons. Valerie was living the monotonous life, and she was… content for the most part, but it didn't suck as she would sometimes volunteer in helping clean or fix things for her family or friends, so it was nice. Anyway, maybe today's birthday will be different.

2012-2013

It was unexpected and surprising to say the least for Valerie, it was a normal afternoon with chocolate cake, some red velvet cupcakes, and blown out candles, when her father dropped the news gently that he and mother had decided to open a school near another school. Valerie obviously had concerns of how this will affect the money but her parents reassured her that they've been planning this since they've moved here, and it was for their dearest daughter Valerie. Within a blink Valerie broke down happy in tears but also petrified, later on hearing how Valerie will be the one leading on this high school project! And as well wanted her to enroll in school again. What the hell, Valerie would say if she wasn’t stricken with absolute boulders weighing on her shoulders. She was still in college but in a few months she'd graduate and help organise and build the literal school from the ground up from the deposit her parents had given her to use wisely AND go back to highschool. Valerie spent most of her birthday planning and making some calls. If she was given the trust to build that school with her bare hands, well, she's gonna need all the hands she could get. She was still doubtful of going back to highschool but her parents encouraged her how it'll help make friends and more experience as a young teen. After graduating community college with flying colours of course and turning 16 years old, she had made a list of the best teachers and principal, who had taught psychology so it made her like the principal a lot more. With the help of her mother, she interviewed the teacher's and principal properly. She was, well, very exhausted and decided to take a walk and found a perfectly empty lot in her view and continued to walk until she accidentally met a brunette with a side braid and looking like a painted canvas.

Her parents were her greatest supporters just from her first walk to her sports trophies, there was an obvious shift when they moved and Valerie’s relationship was strained and even awkward as she grew but of course she knew when to be grateful and say nice things to her parents. But they knew that they wished to be closer like they were once before.

Clique, 2013-2015

Despite being in the nerd clique, Valerie considers to be more a part of the writer’s. (secretly a heartthrob to others in berry high and other schools.)

Pansexuality, 2008-2014

Valerie in her mind is unlabeled but knows she is attracted to any gender who bats their eyes at her, she had sneaking suspicion that she liked girls in 2008 and later on in 2014 developed into also liking different identities as she grew older.

Living Situation, 2013-20XX

Valerie actually proposed the idea of living on her own but her parents at first shut down the idea, which made Valerie understand of course but she was adamant and even made powerpoints defending her reasons and how it’ll be an apartment close enough to home. Her parents had already discussed this subject between themselves and agreed to let her know how less they would go home with her father and mother working, so they let her live on her own but of course gave her a deposit.

Insecurity, 2009-20XX

Moving a lot took a toll on her over the years and unintentionally contributed on her mental state over her achievements, she knows her presence in her previous schools were not as warm and welcoming as she was always the one who raised her hand to answer every time, getting gold stickers, medals, trophies, and awards. She barely stayed in those schools but she knew what people would say about her. Valerie knows she should be proud but deep down she knows she doesn't deserve to be proud and how so many others deserve it more. And it also bled into her relationships, seeing how there are more better options than her. This continues to carry on as she grew older but her doubt in herself had subdued overtime due to her current thriving friend group!

Attitude, 2002-2009

Valerie had a serious attitude problem as a child and would sometimes accidentally get into petty fights! She looks back on this and cringe in embarrassment.

I just finished my research paper for the semester and I remembered my daughter. So more Valerie Calloway factoids for fun!
