light was your best friend - although you couldn't deny the crush you had on him. you'd been close with him for a while, ever since you arrived at daikoku private academy for the first time. so naturally this note of his was a little confusing to you, as normally whenever he had something to tell you, he'd just say it straight up whenever he got the chance.

but all today he'd been anxiously avoiding contact with you. and right now... there were still a few hours left until the school day ended. couldn't he have just told you whatever he wanted to say during your lunch period? or in between classes? you decided not to dwell on it too much, but as you tried to force yourself to pay attention to what was going on in class, the words scrawled on the paper kept nagging at your brain.

what did he want with you?

finally, the hour came. the bell rung, signifying the end of the school day. you didn't share your final class with light, so you could only wonder if he was already out waiting for you in the courtyard. you'd slipped the note he'd passed you into your pocket, and you subconsciously reached in and clutched the paper in your fist as you grabbed your things, hurrying outside.

you didn't have to search too far before you finally saw him. he stood a bit away from where all the other students were congregated, staring down at his shoes and scratching the back of his neck.

"hey, light!" you called, breaking out into a beam as you laid eyes on him. at the sound of his name, his head immediately snapped upwards and met your gaze. the corners of his lips tilted upwards in a soft yet shy grin, which was out of character for him especially considering he was a known charmer.

"(y/n), hey," he greeted, sounding breathless. as you approached him, you were able to observe his features more clearly. the way his amber eyes glimmered in the sunlight, the way the soft breeze caused his chocolate brown hair to slightly blow out of his face...

god, he was so perfect.

"hi! um, about the note..." you opened your closed palm to show him the now crumpled scrap of paper. "what was it you wanted to tell me?"

"oh! uh, that. yeah." light's grin immediately faltered, and he bit the inside of his cheek thoughtfully before he took a deep breath. "i'll tell you in a sec. come on, walk with me. i'd prefer not to say it where so many people would hear." he jerked his head in the direction of all the other students, and you quickly nodded in understanding. you began to walk towards the school exit before you felt light's hand gently press against the small of your back, guiding you away.

as much as you didn't want to admit it, you could feel your cheeks heat up. his touch gave you butterflies.

the two of you walked in silence, you waiting for light to finally get whatever he needed to say off his chest, and light waiting for the right moment to finally break it to you. finally, he shattered the tension by exhaling.

"alright. i've kept you waiting long enough, haven't i?" he sighed. you could only stare at him, hanging on to every word that slipped out of his soft pink lips. "anyway, (y/n), we've been friends for quite some time now. and um... as time has gone by, i've been thinking... i've been thinking about us as more than friends."

your jaw hung open in sheer shock, but before you could say anything, he continued on.

"it's just that, uh... you know. you're really smart. and pretty. and funny. and nice. and stuff. you've got the, uh, the whole package! and at first i just thought i held some sort of admiration for you - and i do, of course! but like, more than that. and then i started feeling weirdly jealous every time i saw people checking you out and flirting with you. i didn't want anyone to take you away from me, and i didn't get it. until it kinda hit me that... that maybe i like you in more than just a friendly way. you know? and i'm really sorry for keeping it from you this long. i just didn't want to confess to you and ruin our friendship, because you really do mean a lot to me! and if you don't feel the same, that's totally fine. but it's just been weighing down on me and i can't keep it a secret anymore." he paused to clear his throat. "and um- dear god, i've been rambling. i'm sorry for talking your ear off, i-"

"light." all it took was you saying his name to get him to stop in his tracks. he stopped to stare at you, his face flushed and his hands very clearly shaking despite them being shoved in his pockets. you hesitantly reached out and gripped his arm, holding onto him as if he was your last tether to reality. his eyes trained on you, a curious glint in his eye as you approached him, closer and closer. finally, when you were close enough to him, you raised yourself upward to press a quick yet gentle peck on his cheek.

"wh- (y/n)?" he asked, clearly dumbfounded as you pulled away. light lifted his free hand to gently touch the spot where you'd kissed him. it felt like his face was on fire.

you only grinned in response. "you don't have to worry about our friendship being ruined. because, well... i feel the same. i like you, too. in more than just a friendly way. i have for a while now."

"you- really?" light's shoulders visibly relaxed and his face contorted into the signature smile you knew and loved. "well, um... that's great! that's really great."

"yeah. yeah, it is!"

before you knew it, the two of you had reached your house. light's home was a little further away from yours, so he had to continue the walk to his house by himself. "hey, (y/n)," light said before you could say goodbye. "do you, um, have any plans for tomorrow? i was wondering if after school you'd like to come with me to this coffee shop i really like. of course, it's okay if you don't want to. i just thought i'd-"

"light, of course i would!" your reply was almost instant. "why don't we meet again in the courtyard? just like today."

"yeah. yeah, i quite like that idea." light directed one last warm smile your way. "same time, same place?"

"yes! same time, same place."

"alright, then it's a date."

hello y'all!! i've seen some people write headcanons about the aot characters as gamers/streamers, and i love the idea so much! so i decided to write some headcanons of my own about none other than our boy eren :) i'm not sure who originally came up with the idea for this au, but full credit to them!

eren's twitch username is hotboiren. are we even surprised?

the name was originally a joke suggestion from connie, but it ended up sticking

eren will always start streaming in the later evening and end HELLA early in the morning, like 5am or something

he's a variety streamer, but he mainly plays first person shooters. his favorites are call of duty, the doom series, and half-life

he always streams with his hair pulled back in his signature bun, but chat always begs for him to let his hair down

he refuses at first, but somewhat ends up giving in and decides to do a whole stream with his hair down as a reward for when he hits his sub goal

he hits the goal WAYYY quicker than he imagined

when he does the no bun stream, there's an absolute ONSLAUGHT of people making screenshots of him their pfp

and the FAN EDITS good lord there are a lot of those

eren loves interacting with fans, constantly reading out donos and doing his best to read chat whenever he can

he also adores the fan content! he occasionally does streams where he reacts to fanart, edits, and animatics

he likes to tease chat a lot, being incredibly sarcastic yet making sure his viewers know it's all in good fun

"someone in chat said, 'you look hot right now.' hell yeah i do!"

"'eren, can you pose for an edit?' sure, how's this?" *does the fuckboy lipbite*

"'can i make fanart of you?' yeah, just don't make me look ugly."

a lot of times he streams with his friends on call, namely armin, jean, and connie (armin and jean are active more often than connie is, so connie makes surprise guest appearances here and there)

eren can get incredibly heated when in a game, and it's even worse when he loses. i'm talking swearing, actual screaming, even throwing controllers across the room while jean and armin die laughing on call

light is quick to recognize whenever you're struggling, and he's even quicker to come to your aid

he didn't really have a firm understanding of how to help others during panic attacks before he met you, so when you brought up that you had anxiety, he went straight to researching the right ways to offer assistance whenever time called for it

he naturally has a very methodical approach to things, so he uses step by step grounding techniques to help you calm down during a panic attack

the one he most commonly uses is the 5-4-3-2-1 method

"okay, (y/n), can you tell me five things you see? ... alright, what about four things you hear? ... three things you can touch? ... how about two things you can smell? ... last one. can you tell me one thing you can taste?"

other things he does to help is crack corny jokes, do breathing exercises, or take you on walks to get some fresh air

despite his stoic exterior, he's very encouraging and gentle with you

if you don't mind physical touch, he'll take your hands in his and give them soft yet reassuring squeezes

light's love language is words of affirmation! so he's always reminding you that he's here for you

hello and welcome to my account!! my name is river, and this is where i’m going to be posting my writing about my favorite anime characters :)

i’m kinda new to anime, so the list of characters i can write for is somewhat limited. here are the animes i’ve seen or am watching at the moment that i will write for! (i’ll be updating this list the more i watch :D)
