illegal immigrant
Despite the fact that I do not directly know an immigrant, I did see an interview with one of a guy named Raul. He was born in Chihuahua, Mexico. Raul grew up in Mexico with his mother, while his father was a US citizen. He had only seen his father three times in his life. He was the "man" of the family when living in Mexico, so he had to obtain a job at the age of 14 to help his mother care for him and his two younger sisters. He traveled to the United States for employment when he was 24 years old, and gradually he began hunting for work anywhere he could to stay. Working in construction, plumbing, electrical, and fabric manufacturing, he was able to pay the schooling of his two brothers in Mexico, one of whom became a nurse and the other an engineer. Raul stated that he quickly adjusted to life in the United States, regardless of the fact he has never had children or been married. He would try to learn English in whatever ways he could, perhaps by watching TV with subtitles and practicing with his friends. On the other hand, he does have some rough days, and on such bad days, in order to relieve tension, he occasionally uses drugs. He has managed to secure a well paying job in the United States for the past 20 years, but he has gone broke four times trying to create his own painting business. Since he's not a legal citizen, every time he trusted someone to handle his finances, they would always result to stealing the money and blocking him leaving him with nothing. The relocation to the United States was not to get away from Mexico, but to have a better chance of making money, rather than being poverty in Mexico due to its relatively low income.

The biography of a snickers
"You're not you when you're hungry. Snickers satisfies." This is one among the most well-known and well-liked candy bars in the United States. Since 1930, the candy bar has thrilled those who enjoy nutty, caramelly, and chocolaty delights. Snickers bars are still widely available in the United States, from movie theaters to grocery shops. It contains milk chocolate, milk fat, lactose, artificial flavoring, peanuts, sugar, corn syrup, skim milk , palm oil, salt, and egg whites. The ingredients come from all over the world, we depend or other countries for our candy.
The company snickers is owned by the American company Mars, Incorporated. According the many surveys taken by Mars, Incorporated employees, 84% of employees at Mars, Incorporated say it is a great place to work compared to 59% of employees at a typical U.S.-based company. The Hershey chocolate company controls nearly 44 percent of the U.S. chocolate market, followed by Mars, Incorporated with a 30 percent share.
Possible market tactics for chocolate could be flavor innovation, health benefits, or smaller portions for less etc. I got my snickers bar from a local corner store, store owners are likely to make a profit of about 55 to 75% off a chocolate bar.

Family Tree Map
I've noticed while creating my Family tree that we have a lot more males than females. We also don't have any adoptions or marriages. However my family is not close with each other.

Construction of gender
While watching the Disney Jr. children's show Doc Mcstuffins, I’ve noticed that tv shows are gender based. This show is about a little girl who plays doctor with her toys, through out the show she deals with complications with her animals, which always relates to life lessons.

I noticed that the commercials that came on had things like Pony’s and Unicorns . There was a “Fur-real” commercial about stuffed animals, the theme song is sang by a girl as well. I believe society has set standards of what girls and boys are supposed to like and play with.

Pj Masks was the other cartoon that i watched. While watching Pj Mask, it seems as though tv networks like to associate the commercials with the specific show audience . They expect boys to watch the show, so the commercials were for a paw patrol look out tower and the included toys were boys you had to buy the girl character separately. Also a commercial for “Buyoonies”, this commercial was neutral, however the little girls appeared in ballon tiaras and the boys had knight armor of balloons. Society makes it known that little girls should play with unicorns and wear tiaras, while boys should be knights and play with robots. Before i never realized how cartoon commercials have gender norms because i was always the child and thats what i was used to girls being princesses and boys being knights.

Nationality v. Ethnicity
My nationality is black/ African American, however my ethnicity is Indian and black. My mother’s ancestors are from the Cherokee Tribe. The Cherokee are North American Indians that migrated and are known to have lived in Southwest Virginia, Western North Carolina and South Carolina, North Georgia, East Tennessee, and Northeast Alabama, and claiming even to the Ohio River. My mother’s side of the family have lots of freckles and the outline of their iris’ are blue . My father’s ancestors are from the Blackfoot Indian Tribe. They resided in the Great Plains of Montana and the Canadian provinces of Alberta and Saskatchewan, they eventually migrated to Northeastern United States. My mother also grew up in The Virgin Islands which also makes her Crucian. Growing up I’ve learned certain things from many different cultures which includes the American culture. Today West Indian culture has actually been a lot more popular in the U.S through things like music, movies, and even tv shows. I can honestly say that I’m proud to be who I am and adapting knowledge from different cultures will always be a one up in this world.

Whiteness- White people are so stuck on wanting everything to be white washed. It may not be as clear as it was years ago but they still want you to know the difference between white people and minorities.
Miscegenation- This couple Kim and Kanye West are an example of miscegenation. They were a popular interracial couple just like many other couples in today’s society. Though there’s clearly racism still going on we still have many people who don’t care about race and are able to love and be with people of different races.

White Supremacy -

Racialization - There are so many expectations and stereotypes of how certain people are supposed to act and live. People act so shocked when they hear or see someone doing or acting differently then what they are expecting.
Institutional Racism- I decided to go back to the beginning of this year when there was a huge riot and run in at the capital. The world will truly never be healed on the outside if we don’t start from within. Institutional racism has shown it self time and time again proving to the world just how much white privilege. If these were people of color they’d be dead before it even got this far, but the fact that these are white people they were able to freely riot and destroy parts of the white house. The fact that our own government has made it known plenty of times how white people are “above” people of color.

Individual Racism- George floyd was killed due to racism. This cop intentionally kneeled on this man’s airway, and even when George continuously repeated that he couldn’t breathe The cop never moved. There has been so many cases of black people being killed by cops over bare minimum.

There’s 40 students in my Biology 103 class. Including myself, there are 34 women and 6 men. During the class I’ve noticed that the women tended to give more interaction in class opposed to men . The body language of women seem to be more relaxed and ready to ask question. The men rarely answer questions they just leave it to the girls. Women keep their cameras on more than the men. In class our teacher tried her best to communicate with everyone but when she ask questions a lot of people just sit there with their mics muted. Our biology professor and teachers assistant are both female , which may be a reason that women feel more comfortable participating.

1. I chose to pick the main road in the town i live im in which is Kansas. This Specific street drew me put because coming from New Jersey i has certain image in my head of how i thought Kansas would’ve looked like. When i got here i noticed the amount of homeless people sleeping on the sidewalks and under the highway .
2. I haven’t been living here very long, but seeing the homeless people and the the fact that a huge amount were retired veterans. Its truly sad that the people who fought for this country still mean leas and are just used.
3. I expected to find different opportunities out here but instead in my opinion if you decide to live out here it would after you have kids and retired. Me being young there isn’t really much to do out here, its very boring.
4.I believe this area has been greatly impacted like the rest of the world by COVID 19. Many people lost jobs and ways to provide for themselves, now they reside on the streets.
