giving Tenna to Mettaton is like setting free a baby bird you found injured back into the wild after a month of caring for it. you open the cage with shaking hands & watch him soar happily in his element. he flies farther than you could reach & you immediately want him back

Part of what makes Spamton such a great character beyond being a little freak you'd find in a happy meal, is how much of an unapologetic sleazebag he is. He sucks so bad. We can't forget this is a washed up infomercial salesman who corners people in alleyways to scam them while reminiscing about his glory days when he did a bunch of coke in Hollywood and strung along an aging TV host. He WILL screw over anyone to get ahead. He WILL hold needless grudges. He WILL swear revenge on anyone whose wronged him.

AND YET he is one of the only people in the game who is an actual kindred spirit of sorts with Kris. Even in his Big Shot era, he would pray to the NEO body in Queen's basement because he understood that even then, he wasn't entirely free.

It always fascinated me that when trans people took hormones, they. Worked. I mean this PURELY from a biological standpoint. We think of "male" bodies and "female" bodies as so different, but the reality is they just aren't. A human body will know what to do with the tools you give it, even if it's never had those tools before.

Put testosterone in a "female" body, and it'll know how to grow a beard. It just will.

Put estrogen in a "male" body, and it'll know how to form breasts. It just will.

It doesn't matter what the "original" sex was, a human body is a human body and it knows what to do. We were never different. We just think we are because we think it makes more sense. But it doesn't. I make way less sense, actually.

I think that's fascinating and kind of beautiful. Honestly
