have any other ethnicity headcanons for fairy tail characters?
Fairy Tail Characters Ethnicity HCs
I don’t have as much extensive proof as I do for my Erik headcanons post but I will explain my thoughts for why I think certain ethnicities.
Natsu Dragneel : Japanese + Greek? (Because of the clothing style in his past flashback with his biological family)
Erza Scarlet : British + ? - I say British because she reminds me of Lara Croft who in her older days had reddish hair, also English history is big on knights, which Erza is. The other half I can’t tell as I don’t actually know what to think of her father Rung as. He seems like a POC though. (Maybe Mexican?)
Lucy Heartfilia : British / American - Because Lucy’s heritage as a noble it reminds me more of English nobility, but then her characteristics remind me more of american for some reason (it doesn’t help that Lucy looks a lot like Ashley Graham from the original RE4 and she’s American so I am kind of biased there)
Gray Fullbuster : Canada or Serbia (I think that’s mainly because I am making the link of cold countries though). Also if with Serbian I can see Ultear and him coming from similar places)
Gajeel Redfox : Native American (His hair and features remind me of Native Americans and I don’t know he kind of reminds me and looks like of Ratohnhake:ton / Connor from AC3) Juvia Lockser : Spanish + Russian (Spanish as the name Juvia is Spanish origin and Russian since the ushanka she wears and her clothing style in general)
Jellal Fernandes : Mixed ethnic - Mixed Arab (mainly Levantine Arab) + Latino (Brazilian), but then in my HCs he’s also part Desi too since the name Jellal is most prominent in India (And I want Erik to have a desi bro in CS). And the Arab/South asian idea came from him wearing Kohl/Surma in S1 in the anime.
Ultear Milkovich : Serbian with mixed Central Asian or Kazakh (Again cold countries but since Ultear looks Eurasian but with dark features these countries came to mind. Serbia because apparently the name Milkovich is Serbian origin)
Macbeth/Midnight :  English w/Scottish + Irish + Japanese - English/Scottish/Irish is a given since his name ‘Macbeth’ but since his aesthetic is alike to Visual Kei, I see Japanese influence. But I don’t know, I just can see Macbeth with a british accent, maybe that’s just me.
Sorano Aguria : French and Korean/Japanese (I don’t know why I have the French, it just fits me when discussing with my friend @acutemushroom. Korean/Japanese because despite having a Japanese name (her and Yukino) due to her features she gave me kind of Korean vibes for some reason)
Sawyer : English (I can’t explain other than the name. But I thought of Romanian too for some reason, so English + Romanian?)
Richard Buchanan : South African + Scottish? (My only thought for this was because Buchanan I knew it as a last name big in South Africa, and Scottish is probably because of the red hair and ruddy complexion that I know scottish people can have)
Meredy : Irish (I don’t know why, it was hard to think of anything for her)
Kinana : Desi (Since the name Kinana is an urdu name apparently - So Pakistani)
Cana Alberona : Irish + Italian (Guildarts gave me tanned Irish vibes for some reason and Alberona is I believe an Italian name)
Minerva Orland : Chinese + Latina (She wears a Cheongsam and her hair reminds me of Chinese culture but then I see Latina too) BUT, maybe she has Egyptian too and Italian since Minerva (Italian/Latin) but the blue eyeliner/eyeshadow she always has is alike to Malachite powder that was used by ancient egyptians
Laxus Dreyar : Ukrainian + Russian (He gives me eastern europe vibes and also his features) but also since he's Makarov’s grandson he’d have Russian in him
Makarov Dreyar : Russian - (I think his full name is of Russian origin but I can't be sure.) These are the HCs I have off the top of my head, hope this answers your question!

thoughts on Hiro Mashima as an author?
I’ll say it upfront that I haven’t exactly consumed all his media, but what I have i’ll give my opinion on that. I think Mashima has potential to be a great author and when he plans and doesn’t just rely on shock value, nonsensical plot devices and fanservice, he can create wonderful and impactful stories and characters which really stick and have substance to them.
I got into FairyTail from a young age and was moved by the themes of friendship and togetherness that were so beautifully composed in the earlier arcs. But fast forward to what is the current state of FairyTail, it feels like all of that has been lost. It’s all fast paced for no reason, too much and nothing is going on at once and the series is relying on ships to carry it through.
That’s not what should be the main thing to FairyTail and honestly it wasn’t always like that, there were good stories, individuality and something to look forward to other than romance and fanservice.
But i’m afraid those days are gone when I see Mashima’s newer projects and especially 100YQ. It’s all lackluster now, the compelling plot has been reduced to cheap fanservice and fights which makes me sad (as an old fan) to see FairyTail devolve into such a thing when there is and was so much potential.
I hope this answers the question.
And thank you for my first ask, this was really cool to do ^^

'Work In The Dark To Serve The Light.'
Tumblr media
Crossover of Jellal Fernandes and Altaïr Ibn La 'Ahad.
Probably not expected, but I love how this has turned out and wanted to share!
Hope you guys like it too!
(PS. If the picture is coming off dark and you put the brightness up you'll be able to see the little background easter egg!)

Me realising did this post in a way jinx the last chapter since Jellal’s name was changed and he didn’t take an L again 🤔😅
Jellal keeps getting the most L’s in the series since his name is made up of half of them.
It was always going to be like this.

100YQ for once not giving me a chapter full of Ls. I need a moment….Jellal finally got the importance he deserves. I’m emotional I’m sorry 😭
Tumblr media
Also I’m shocked how this chapter semi aligns with my dark and twisted HCs- Did not expect this at all from the newest chapter at all.

Just want to ask people to stop romanticising CPR. There’s nothing romantic about someone being on the literal verge of life and death , risking breaking ribs and vomit coming into your mouth when doing the ‘kiss of life’.
Literally romance is the furthest thing from your mind when you’re trying to keep up with the compression level needed trying to restart someone’s heart.

Just realised Minerva qualifies to be added to this list of pantie-less women…
Tumblr media Tumblr media
God why Mashima??? First you take away her make up and now her panties too???
WHY IS MASHIMA TAKING AWAY ALL THE WOMEN'S UNDERGARMENTS???
This is something I have been wanting to make a post on for sometime now, considering I have noticed it becoming a trend for Mashima to be making his ladies go commando.
I first noticed it with Irene Belserion.
Tumblr media
If you look at near her hip line , where there should have been some evidence of an undergarment, there is none- Of course there are many impracticalities about her outfit in general for someone who is meant to be on the battlefield (I won't be going into that though) , but I think her going commando strikes me the most odd.
The woman doesn't wear any form of undergarments which we can see clearly (no bra or pantie) but with a lack of bra I can understand in a practical sense as they can be frustrating , dig into the shoulders (especially if heavy chested) and sometimes cause unwanted constriction.
So I get the argument about going braless. Also considering the most part of her chest is covered, it's still not overly indecent.
But her going commando , in an outfit like that? First of all she's wearing a loincloth that could easily blow up or away and expose her genitals , the most private place a woman has. And on top of that she goes on the battlefield like this , and you would imagine one of the most sensitive places a woman could have should be given some form of protection right? But for some reason the author thought this is fine.
And it's even more weird to think when Wendy used to be drawn with Irene's outfit by Mashima , she also was going commando-
Tumblr media
There is so much wrong with this picture already I don't want to get into it but now realizing she is also pantie-less , makes it even more wrong.
Seriously this is a kid Mashima , what the fuck is wrong with you? SPARE HER!
It's only in recent 100 YQ that they have started to give Wendy boxers when in this garb.
Tumblr media
Though in all honesty because this change happened , it's what prompted me to notice the lack of it in the first place.
Moving on from Irene , there have been other women who have been made to go commando, ones I have just realised and others that have just been made.
I will cite a few other examples.
Juvia Lockser
Tumblr media
With how high her slit is for her dress, you would have imagined that there would be some form of pantie line on the side to show well , she had something under.
Nothing.
Of course you may think that perhaps this is a bad angle but the most recent art of Gruvia confirms she too goes commando.
Tumblr media
In that sort of position we should be able to see if she was wearing anything , she's not. And with how her skirt is going into her butt, it just makes me think how uncomfortable it must be.
Juvia also wears something similar to Irene though it's not as apparent. And whilst I hope her possibly flashing would be less of a concern, it just is still like weird and considering Juvia used to be considerably modest compared to most FT girls , this seems so out of character for her too.
She used to dress like THIS
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And now she's putting herself at the risk of possibly flashing???
I already have an issue with Mashima making it seem like a woman can't be pretty and modest. They always have to end up sexualising themselves, which okay if it's how they are that's them but Juvia??? She had a completely different style and I loved it , it was so refreshing and cute compared to all the other girls we see having their assets shoved in our faces.
There's nothing wrong if a girl wants to be sexy with her own confidence and in her own terms , but here we can clearly see she has become a victim / succumbed to the constant objectification Mashima blatantly puts his females through.
And knowing she goes commando now just makes the moment where Lyon saw up her skirt even more awkward-
Erza Scarlet
Tumblr media
Admittedly this is the first instance I have seen her doing this , but the fact she is joining this trend irks me.
As why are all the girls deciding to have a strike against underwear now??? Also why are they always wearing something that SHOW they are not wearing underwear , why not be covert about it??? And why is it always a skirt/dress that could flash them from the side or if it lifts up??
Fair say, some people might say that, 'Ueda is responsible for that, since he's the artist for 100YQ' , but Mashima's not clear of this behaviour. It started with him , in fact he's the one who probably influenced it onto Ueda idk.
And to show Mashima's decision in the matter, I will cite my next example which I believe is the greatest offender (and I will go onto why).
Lucy Heartfilia
Lucy is usually the victim of Mashima's many questionable sexualisation techniques , anyone who has watched the anime or read the manga , they would know the girl can't go like an episode without losing her clothes against her will. And now she has also joined this trend of being underwear-less.
Tumblr media
It's a lot more covert and requires a hard look to see in this art Mashima put out recently for NaLu, but it is there.
But in case that isn't clear enough, we've got the biggest offender with his recent art of Future Lucy where it's clearly shown with her lack of underwear.
Tumblr media
Or lack of anything
The reason why this is the biggest offender to me out of the rest, is because we have SEEN FUTURE LUCY WITH CLOTHES IN THE MANGA BEFORE.
Tumblr media
Trying to retcon our memories with your porn addiction are you?
This is the worst because there's no reason for Future Lucy to not be wearing anything other than Mashima wanted to sexualise her further too , and that just feels so insulting towards the woman.
Though.
Before I did decide to make this post, I did my research on the possible counter arguements that could come to me calling out Mashima making his girls go commando.
Because yes there are benefits to letting it out, but given the context these girls are usually in, it doesn't seem practical.
The benefits of going commando are :
Lowered risk of yeast infection - Due to not wearing underwear where bacteria can build up
Fewer STIs
Less irritation - Due to friction
Reduced genital odor - Because the genitals are allowed to breathe out
Given the sort of life these girls have and how many adventures they go on , it's a fair shout and possibly underwear can get uncomfortable on the battlefield.
But listen to the cons too.
The problems of going commando are :
Skin irritation - Such as from skin chafing & friction blisters (which could possibly damage blood vessels) from your genitals rubbing on the other clothing
Clothing will get stained by vaginal discharge (Need I explain more)
Vaginal fissures could happen (micro abrasions on the labial/vaginal region)
No period protection (This is a nightmare to think of, ESPECIALLY WHEN FIGHTING)
Increased risk of infection - Sure there can be a reduction of yeast infections , but the lack of protective layering is inviting more in (such as UTIs , Vaginitis etc)
Unpleasant odor - Genital odor might be reduced but from what will stick to the clothes from the secretion of the human body will not-
Laundry has to be done more
It's a personal opinion if one wants to go commando or not , but given this list, and the sort of situations the women in FT find themselves in fighting on the battlefield, going on adventures, being away from civilization at times , it would be more practical to wear underwear then not.
Personally to me , it's not as sexy as people think. Sex appeal shouldn't be enough to sacrifice good hygiene and personal health.
Not all of them have re-quip powers to quickly change clothes that would smell rank either so it would be a really bad choice for someone who's not Erza or Lucy-
But if anyone wants to argue that it is still practical , then why don't the men in FT do it too? Why is it always women? It would give them more movement on the battlefield , it would be one less clothing item to bother about and going commando originally came from male soldiers doing it , so why can't the men in FT do it alongside the women? And if they are doing it , why can't we see it like we can see for the women?
It would be equal and less mortifying if it wasn't always women who were at the risk of flashing their bits, don't you think?
But being real I doubt there is any proper reason for Mashima to be making the women pantie-less other than his blatant porn/hentai addiction.
Idk if there is anymore women who have had this happen to them in his stories, if not thank god those women need to be spared.
He needs to stop as his story and characters are suffering for it, and he's reducing his women that have been prided as strong and badass to nothing but victims of objectification.
For the love of god Mashima , get some help and stop taking the underwear off your female characters, you've already stripped them of many things , don't strip them of their basic necessities too.
Rant over.
Thank you for coming to my ted talk.
