Yam's Iron Leaguer Blog
55 posts
A blog for all of my Iron Leaguer related media. Shippu! Iron Leaguer is an old sports-mecha anime by Sunrise, and like all other sports anime, it's not really about sports! So don't let that deter you from watching the entire series on YouTube. Additionally, I post official artwork from the show and the guide book I've managed to wrangle, with a few vague translations. I also post my own artwork, along with snippets from the Iron Leaguer RP site I run. See the tag links for more info.

(Note: Unfortunately there’s decent chunks of translations missing here, couldn’t get everything. Tried my best!)
► Scary to children...
► Episodes 12-14 show in the inside of the mobile base. "I was working on a strategy here."
► Lol [yes there's a Japanese word for "lol" in this 1994 guide] at the advice of Ryuuken. He [struggles] to remember the face.
► Mercenary era GZ. Survived at the expense of his relationships.
► GZ defended the children alone. "I'm good at fighting in cold regions."
► There are ballistic engines in a number of areas [on his body].
► GZ seen from the front. Former mercenary, only boasting heavy armor.
► Profile of GZ. Middle-aged?
► The sole of GZ's foot. He knows how to maintain his often-stored blades.
[The section with Windy and Ace, couldn’t figure out the title beyond “one side”]
Oils are sold in limited seasonal premieres according to popular tastes. There's a lot of unsavory oil traders who only buy up bad reviews. (It's a shame but common in society.) In addition, the middle of the summer is the favorite season for limited oil. Between rare and bad oil, it's a depressing feeling.

► Even before the onslaught of Dark, he never loses his nerve. He [Shiruki] is the leaguer of guts!!
► [The 1st box with the medical equipment] Leaguer machine treatment. They have an adhesive surface, and reinforce the structure. Can fix in minutes.
► No. 7 Linky [It lists the numbers/names of some of the other lavenders]
► The 2nd box with the medical equipment] Leaguer machine treatment. Special adjustment for treatment of a serious injury, used on the patient's body.
► Silky who bites his teeth and works hard. "Let's show Silver's soul..."
► The impression is that there is no personality, but each teammate has character.
► [The bandages/pads] They grow and shrink. Re-filling electromagnetic assistance.
► [Picturing Jake] Formerly worked for Silver Castle. A little more [enhanced] than the other players, good performance. Prefers to rough play. Became selfish and left the team.
Metal Fatigue Leaguer speed and power can drop. We use electomagnetic waves to heal the fatigue of fighting. It improves the flow of oil and gears. We have a special part, but to the public, it is a dangerous textile material that can deliver an electric shock. It can be a substitute for an electromagnetic cooker. Some parts are quite useful.

My headcanon of that lavender #3 that got swapped out with Ryuuken! I’ve named him Chip because his left finial had been chipped off at some point. Chip’s mismatched arrival was a terrible inconvenience that would keep this karate team unqualified for a tournament that their new, young owner failed to prepare for. Their owner is the son of their previous owner, who had died recently, leaving his prized pair of karate leaguers to this rich kid that had zero interest in sports. But this new owner did enjoy winning, so he placed a ton of pressure on Trace Ishikawa (left) and Ao Tora (right) to perform.
Chip insisted that he could master karate in a short time, that he could help them win, and Tora started training him up. Ishikawa hated this idea.
@gaogaigar-the-king had some dramarific HCs for how he might handle seeing Silver Castle’s success 10 years down the line, and how brutal rough play was in the karate league. 👌 👌

(Note: Geeeettttt dunked on.)
► A basket leaguer equipped with a strong and powerful force. [This one had wildly different translations, so I'm still not super sure. One of them was "The strength of the U.S. mail system that's equipped with a bicycle", so uhhh. Maybe it means that Topjoy has powerful parts, but he's Topjoy, so he doesn't use them well.]
► His serious expression is very different.
► "What's the problem? I can do it!"
► "The world's the best if you play basketball."
► The hyper nitro Topjoy returned to his team.
► Topjoy's usual face. [the smiling face]
► With v-spring-loaded feet, Topjoy's dunk is powerful.
