Shiny knitted beetle! Inspired by jewel scarabs and other shiny beetles. The metallic stitching took multiple attempts to get it right (stem embroidery stitch, thank you very much).
I want to make more, but that might mean buying a bunch more yarn and metallic thread because I want all the colors

Renaissance Knitted Purse

Purse (likely Italian, circa 1550), Simone Handbag Museum
"This silk purse probably originates from Italy, the centre of the European silk industry during the sixteenth century. It was knitted together in a knit stitch known as stockinette, and its edges were finished with a purl stitch, which as it developed around 1550 helps to date the purse. The purse is lined in silk with an interlining of linen."

Just experienced a knitting tragedy as old as time (...again)
A mysterious stitch has been picked up with no clear origin???
In trying to carefully frog just a little bit of progress... I slip and drop the needle causing multiple stitches to come completely undone for multiple rounds :(
I try and fail to get my stitches back on my needles neatly because I'm using 4 ply and the loops are so, so tiny
I make things worse
I frog all of yesterdays progress and take a deep breath
I finally have the right amount of neat stitches again... time for a cup of tea and to just keep going (I am close to insanity)

If I had a nickel for every time someone who doesn’t knit told me I should start selling my work I’d make a hell of a lot more money than I would selling hats, I’ll tell you that

Every time I knit Creme Brulee tries to play with my yarn, which I need her to not do as I cannot knit under these conditions
However, I'm actually knitting a blanket for her, so I don't want her to think the yarn is something she's not allowed to touch at all because I want her to lay on her cute little blanky when it's finished
Anybody know how to explain delayed gratification to a cat?

So in 2 weeks this is all I have to show for my twist and wave rework.

In my defense my mom came to visit spur of the moment for about half a week so I didn't get much done while she was here.
Plus I ended up having to frog my knit version that was over half completed because of a gauge issue. See the original twist was knit in reverse stockinette with knit columns to mark where the garter stitch strips attach. It came out much shorter than intended because garter stitch has more rows per inch than stockinette so it scrunched it down.

I thought just using the garter stitch row gauge on the remark would correct that problem, but alas the way the strips attach they stretch out a bit resulting in a weird in-between gauge that's hard to properly account for. There is of course an incredibly simple solution to this that annoyingly just didn't occur to me until after discovering my new sample was wrong. I just need to knit the base in garter stitch with stockinette columns to mark the attachment points. For some reason I was initially convinced it wouldn't be clear enough but that assumption was completely incorrect. So I at least have a solution but lost a lot of time and progress. Such is the way of pattern designing.

Started the Handsome Chris Pullover! I'm using both of the Panel A charts and mirroring them on either side of the central cable panel because I like that better than having them all face the same direction. Bonus, I have all the charts memorized already, so I don't have to look at the pattern at all until I start the next panel!
